Seahawks announce Percy Harvin is back to practice

Not much more to say here, but the Seahawks just announced that wide receiver Percy Harvin has returned to practice.

That started the 21-day clock. A team has a 21-day window to activate players who come off the regular-season PUP list. If the deadline passes without him activated, he has to stay on the PUP list the rest of the season.

    Good news!

  2. thursday says:

    Free beers all around!

  3. Dukeshire says:

Good news indeed. I look forward to reading if he’s limited or full participant, tomorrow.

  4. DisplacedSeahawkFan says:

Any news on Mike Rob yet?

  5. Lets hope he doesnt develop gastroenteritis…or a hangnail.

Seriously, Im looking forward to seeing him perform on the field as well as everyone else, Im just half scared he’ll immediately get hurt again.

At least his migraines seem to be controlled; those can be a real beeotch.

  6. Southendzone says:

I bet 3 months off work helps migraines.

  7. PFT says Gus Bradley’s father has passed away at 85. Gus is the youngest of 6. Thoughts and prayers his way…

  8. doubledink says:

    OK Chuck,
Git yer bib on. I’ll start heating up the frypan. Somebody start pluckin’ that crow.

    Nice problem to have tho…

  9. Off topic link but I found two of the names on the “list” really interesting…if not disappointing. It’s an old story but I ran across it while reading on the Sam Montgomery getting cut. It sure answers a lot of my misgivings and thoughts on Spencer Ware during the preseason. The other Seahawk name sort of surprised me but then we haven’t seen much, if anything, from him. Click to read. :)

  10. GeorgiaHawk says:

Our competition is getting weaker and our team is getting stronger.

  11. chuck_easton says:

He’s not been activated yet! But I have a great BBQ crow recipe ready to go.

I’ll own up the first time I see a guy wearing a Seahawks 11 jersey actually lining up for a game.

  12. doubledink says:

I know, he’s not on the field yet. Couldn’t resist.

I am only warming up the pan…

  13. chuck_easton says:

The team has until the November 10 game against the Falcons to activate him. If he’s not activated by then, it’s season over. Also they can add him to the 53 but still have him inactive for a few more weeks after that.

Duke, I’m not sure the team has to include Harvin in the official injury report until he’s put on the 53. Until then we will only hear how he’s doing from Pete. I can already quote those lines.

” He’s looking good, but we will see how he feels tomorrow.” ” he’s battling out there. He really wants to get in there”
” we want to see him go a full week of practice and then we can evaluate things”. ” he’s real close”. ” he’s day to day”. “It will be a game time decision”. “He just wasn’t quite ready for this week”

Then suddenly Harvin will be active for a game sometime in the future.

There now. I’ve saved everyone the trouble of having to come here every day asking for an update on Harvin.

  14. Southendzone says:

Skavage, that link is very interesting if true.

I remember shortly after the draft last year there was a radio interview with either the LSU play by play guy, or a local journalist covering the team. He said Ware is a really good player, but he had nothing good to say about Tharold Simon, didn’t think he was anywhere near NFL level talent.

  15. Yeah South, I thought it was an interesting tidbit of info. I always thought Ware was underachieving in camp and preseason. He never really look that great to me. Hopefully long term I’m wrong.

  16. bigmike04 says:

Proud to be a Seattle Seahawk again #home: Ricardo Lockette

look like he back with the team…

  17. raymaines says:

Wow! A strength coach throws ten of his guys under the bus. Kiss your next promotion goodbye big guy.

I hate to sound like the grumpy old man that yells at kids to get off of his lawn, but back in the day absolutely NO (as in NONE! No time, No where, Never Ever) coach would have called out individual players that way.

I have no idea what John Schneider saw in the guy but I’m sure he knew about this before the draft. In JS&PC we trust.

  18. GeorgiaHawk says:

I think we have a fighting chance to win the NFC west.

  19. MikeFromNewJersey says:

I guess Lockette is back on the PS.. Phil Bates is better and much less the knucklehead.

  20. GeorgiaHawk says:

    Marvin Gaye- Mercy Mercy Me-

    “Woo ah, Percy Percy me”
“Ah things ain’t what they used to be, no no”
    “Where did Ruskells players go?”
“Poison pill is something that was long ago”
    “Woo Percy, Percy me,”
“Ah things ain’t what they used to be, no no”
“Carroll has a master plan, and the GM has finally found our man.”
    “Ah oh Percy, Percy me”
“Ah things ain’t what they used to be, no no”
    “Top five D and top 10 O,”
“moving up is the only way that we will go”
    “Oh Percy, Percy me”
“Ah things ain’t what they used to be”
    “12th man is waiting for”
“A Super Bowl and so much more”

  21. thursday says:

“Our competition is getting weaker and our team is getting stronger.”

    Seems that way, don’t it?

  22. raymaines says:

GH: Thanks so much for the PH videos. I really appreciate the time you spend on the intertube searching out these clips.

What I didn’t see: Not once did I see PH get rocked at the end of a play. Maybe that’s a good thing, but even I could be good if nobody ever smacked me. Does he duck and hide if a defender is close? Does he fumble if he gets hit?

What I did see: #1) Wow! That man (PH) is fast!! #2) PH caught a pass in front of Josh Willson. So how does that make PH unique? The NFL franchise in Wash. D.C. does NOT have the Legion Of Boom.

The whole season could come together in perfect harmony on Monday night Dec. 2nd against the N.O. Saints. There could be a perfect confluence of good vibes, good luck, good timing and good fortune and the final score could be about 700 to 3. There would be car crashes all up and down I-5 beginning at 10:45pm but nobody would be unhappy.

Six days later the 49er’s would forfeit for lack of competitive balance and the Seattle Seahawks would be given the Lombardi Trophy and the rest of the season cancelled.

  23. chuck_easton says:

Sad that two of the names on that list being called out by the conditioning coach are on our team. And, oh look! One of them never practiced a single day and the other has been nursing an injury for several weeks now.

Maybe this coach should have been listened to prior to the team wasting draft picks.

  24. grizindabox24 says:

Chuck, you are incorrect. This is in reference to Harvin:

    Curtis Crabtree ‏@Curtis_Crabtree 4h
@Softykjr No. He can practice until Monday after Atlanta game. Then has to be on active roster before Minnesota.

  25. MoSeahawk12 says:

Brady Quinn getting tryout with Rams. Wonder if he knows our playbook?

  26. GeorgiaHawk says:

Lets put this into perspective here,(before anyone tries to demonize Simon and Ware)

Tommy Moffitt went on to say-

    Tommy Moffitt @TommyMoffitt

@ChaddScott The pic from office window is old news. These guys had all missed a class. Great kids and hard workers. #tigertough #LSU

    9:22 AM – 29 Dec 2012

  27. sluggo42 says:

That guy in your Visio clips is pretty darn fast Georgia, who is he again?

  28. raymaines says:

BQ might know the Seahawk playbook, being able to stop it is a different story.

Last year STL very effectively blitzed RS over and over again. I’m anxious to see what we’ve learned since then.

I’m predicting this game will get UGLY! It could be too close for comfort (ugly for us) or just WAY out of hand (ugly for them), but ugly. Either way, I just don’t see the Seahawks losing. 7-1 and looking forward to games against the Buc’s, Falcons, and Vikings. Go ‘Hawks!

  29. MikeFromNewJersey says:

Oh man the Vikings are horrible. This might be the worst game i’ve seen all year. Freeman has no clue so you would think AP all day, but know lets keep trying to throw the ball and forget AP,What a shame.

  30. Must be a done deal… Clem welcoming MikeRob back on Twitter

  31. rramstad says:

Mike, thanks for the MNF update, I decided to not watch, assuming it would be a terrible game, glad to hear I’m at least partially right.

  32. ChrisHolmes says:

@MRD I just saw the same thing.

    Welcome back M-Rob.

Now go knock someone’s block off on 4th and 1.

Because you know a few more of those are coming this year.

P.S. It might be the red wine tonight, but I just feel like this is Seattle’s year. No season is perfect. We’ve lost some key guys. But we weathered the storm of the early season schedule, and now we’re getting into the middle of this and guys are coming back. Wilson is on fire and Lynch is running like a man possessed, and the defense is playing like they have one massive chip on their shoulder and something to prove.

It just feels…. like the perfect storm.

  33. Vikes look like it’s week one of the preseason.

  34. pabuwal – what a great bit of news. Thanks for posting that link. Sherman is truly a classy human being. Great to be both a phenomenal athlete and a person who gives back to the community.

  35. I can’t imagine that Harvin isn’t activated. It would make ZERO sense. They had 3 weeks to wait to have him START to practice if they thought he wasn’t ready. Why wouldn’t they if they thought he wasn’t ready to practice? This doesn’t mean he couldn’t get hurt before he plays. Some people just ignore reality. The doctor that did the surgery said that he could’ve waited but probably would’ve needed it later in the year and been out the rest of the year. But hey, just ignore that.

  36. PugetHawk says:

If I read between the lines of what Pete says, “Harvin needs two weeks of contact in practice before he is going to be a significant contributor in a game.”
