The Seahawks play the Rams next Monday and could be facing Kellen Clemens, not Sam Bradford.

To update, a few other reporters have confirmed this. Sounds like Bradford is out for the year. Clemens has seven touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his career. The Seahawks lead the league with 11 interceptions.

    Licking chops…

  2. Southendzone says:

I prefer the matchup vs Bradford, hes a statue like Palmer and we woulda got 7 more sacks.

  3. banosser says:

Doesn’t really matter… just feel sorry for Sam.. good ol Sooner.. BOOMER

  4. rramstad says:

Sorry for Sam. Looks to me like he’s never going to have the career some folks thought he would…

  5. Southendzone, I’m pretty sure Sam Adkins was the only Seahawk to ever wear #12. Do you listen to him on the pre/post game radio show?

  6. With the Hawks current offensive line we can thank the stars we haven’t seen the same thing happen to Russell.

  7. Screensmoke says:

Southendzone- u must be joking- Bradford over Clemons ?

  8. montanamike2 says:

All this on a MNF game, which is where we give our worst beatdowns, on national t.v. Clemons probably doesn’t sleep much for the whole week.
I still think Bradford is an excellent old school pocket passer qb, better than he’s looked, but it’s evident that he’s been too aware of his lack of protection and talent around him. That’s what happens when you go #1 overall, it’s usually to a bad team, only the Colts know how to tank properly. Pete and John built the team first and then got their qb, hopefully we can get some form of o-line together.

  9. montanamike2 says:

I thought we played the Colts a lot tougher in Indie then the Broncos did.

  10. MikeFromNewJersey says:

We still should not be taking the Rams lightly. They have a very tough defense and always play us well in St. Louis.

  11. montanamike2 says:

When is Okung supposed to return?

  12. Southendzone says:

As i started to look up stats to backup my statement that I wanted to face Bradford this week, it actually appears that he’s having a statistically good year (at least on the Bradford scale)

I just can’t get that SF game out of my mind where he looked terrible along with the Rams whole offense.

Also, I had Kellen Clemens mixed up in my head with Kellen Moore (that 2nd year QB out of Boise St.)

So, upon further thought, I’m going to have to retract that comment. It is a plus for the Hawks that Bradford is out next week.

  13. CDHawkFan says:

MT Mike, I think his first game back is/could be the Saints.

He might be ready to go next week, but will have to wait due to the IR rules which I think was a minimum of 8 weeks out.

  14. CDHawkFan says:

MT Mike, I think there was some confusion on when the Seahawks put the IR tag on Okung. One article says he could be back for the Saints, but I just found another 2 articles that said he could be back for the Minny game (week before the Saints game).

ESPN said today that it would/could be Minny. He can practice after 6 weeks, and play after sitting out 8 games.

  15. HawkfaninMT says:

If memory serves they placed him on the IR before the game in question, meaning he is eligible to play against Minnesota. But that obviously does not mean he has to be active if the Hawks want to let him rest that week then the bye.

  16. This injury to Bradford is unfortunate as it would have been a good measuring stick to see how well the team played against an ‘full strength’ Rams team.

Bradford has not had a lot of luck on the injury front. This will now be the 2nd time he goes on IR since being drafted. Sure points out how vulnerable a team is to the injury of a single player and how important the QB position is to team success.

  17. raymaines says:

I agree, but it’s hard to feel too sorry for the guy that signed the last bazillion dollar rookie contract and hasn’t really lived up to expectations. I know he’s had 37 different OC’s and all that, but still.
