Everything Russell Wilson had to say:

On his ability to spread the ball to different players:
“That’s huge. If we can get the ball and spread the ball out to a lot of different guys, that’s what we want to do on offense. We want to make it hard on the defense to not understand who we’re going to. So many guys tonight; Sidney Rice getting wide open on that scramble. That’s what we need. That’s obviously part of my game, the scrambling. How he came out of that, it doesn’t get any prettier. We’ve got Zach Miller in the back of the end zone and that was sweet. He was so happy, obviously, coming back home making a big-time touchdown like that. I love having him back. Kellen Davis made a big catch for us; his first touchdown, which is pretty sweet for us and the Seahawks. Then, obviously, Marshawn Lynch. Can anybody be any tougher? You really think about it, you see how tough he is, how he runs the football, his mentality. He’s got great hands too in terms of the catching game and protection. There can’t be too many guys any better.”

On his third down pass to Zach Miller where he was nearly sacked:
“I thought we did a great job on third down tonight. That’s how we kept the drives alive. That’s how we separated ourselves tonight, and that’s what we need. We did a great job in the red zone too, but that play was just one of those plays where they made a good call and I got away from a defensive player and Zach Miller just made a huge play. We just gave him a chance. We just tried to give him a chance to make a big play for us and he made a great catch and a big first down.”

On Zach Miller’s play overall:
“Just having Zach back, he’s so consistent. He made some big plays for us on third down as well. He’s such a great blocker, how he moves his feet and he’s so strong. Just having him back makes a difference.”

On the offense’s first two drives of the game:
“Coach (Darrell) Bevell just called it up great. He made it tough on the defense. You’ve got to give Arizona a lot of credit. They’re a great football team. They’ve got a lot of good football players on that side of the ball. We made some big plays tonight. We kept the drives alive. We stayed on schedule. That was the biggest thing for us. Obviously, the only negatives of the game were really those fumbles. Got to get rid of that. Got to find a way or something. Got to try to watch that. That’s on me. I’ll make sure to get that right. I thought we did a great job tonight.”

On whether he feels the Seahawks exorcised demons from last year’s game in Arizona:
“I think just the fact that our fans were so big tonight. We played a great game on the road. Obviously it was my first game last year. It being my first game last year, it was a great game. It came down to the wire and we just fell short. We had several shots down in the end zone last year, and we just fell short. I think I’ve grown so much. Our football team has grown a lot. I believe that we were the youngest, or second youngest, team in the National Football League last year. We’re still very young. We’re improving every week and that’s the thing. Our goal is to go 1-0 every week. We did that tonight against a very good NFC West team. We came up with a huge win tonight on a short week.”

On whether playing in Arizona one year later was special:
“No, I don’t look at it that way. I’m not that type of person. I think for me it’s just going 1-0. Like I said, having that championship mentality. I have amnesia. I forget. It’s one of those things where you just have to let it go and move on to the next situation and next game, whatever it is and just keep playing.”

On going 2-0 this week:
“I guess it is 2-0. It was a short week. I’ve got some time off this weekend to watch some college football and some other NFL games.”

On having Percy Harvin return to the Seahawks:
“Obviously when you think about Percy Harvin, a guy that we acquired, and one of the best football players in the National Football League. Makes a lot of plays and can do a lot of great things. When you have him on the field, he’s so electric. We haven’t even used him yet, so I just think about Percy Harvin, a guy that just loves the game of football. A guy that is so competitive, when he does come back, whenever that is, we’re looking forward to that moment. We have so many other guys though. You think about our football team right now. The guys that we played with last year, the guys that we’ve been playing with this year; we have so many guys that made so many plays for us. Being able to spread the ball to so many different guys; Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Golden Tate, Sidney Rice. So many guys down the line, and then you think about the tight end position. The different looks that we have and obviously having a great running game, and also our offensive line. Just getting Percy back, it’s just an added benefit. We can’t wait. He’s a great football player. Like I said, one of the best in the National Football League. We’re excited about that opportunity.”

On his first touchdown pass:
“On the first touchdown pass to Sidney Rice, the play was an across the board full field read. We looked to the left and Golden was covered there a little bit, a tough throw. We went across the board and we had some other good routes going on, but the guy pressured. On my scramble out to the right, I was able to get away from him, and Sidney Rice just spun out of there and just took it to the end zone. I just kind of gave it a nice, high deep ball where I gave him a chance to go get it. That’s a big time play. That’s what we need to do. That’s part of our game. That’s part of my game is the scramble situations. It’s an added benefit that we have and we want to be able to be the best in the National Football League at it. We work at it every day. There are a lot of great teams that are good at it and we want to be great at it.”

On whether Seattle is the best team in the NFL:
“I don’t know about that. We’ve got to be the best team every week. That’s the biggest thing. We have a great football team, I know that. We have a great coaching staff. We have the best fans in the league, I will say that. I think the biggest thing for us is just having a championship mentality and going 1-0. We’ll see what happens.”

  1. You forgot the “Go Hawks!” at the end.

  2. grandmarita12 says:

They cut him off before he said Go Hawks, but if you noticed the hand print with the Skittles, he signed ending with Go Hawks! last word!
