Ian Rapoport of reports that the Seattle Seahawks will activate defensive end Chris Clemons from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to the active roster.

The way Pete Carroll has talked about how far ahead Clemons is in his rehab from ACL knee surgery, this is not a surprise.

However, there is some risk involved. The Seahawks rolled the dice last year by starting offensive lineman James Carpenter on the active roster in his return from major knee surgery. And Carpenter ultimately finished the season on the injured reserve list.

But Carroll seems to believe that Clemons could be ready by Week 3 or Week 4 of the regular season. If Seattle left Clemons on the PUP list, he could not play until Week 7.

We need him. I just saw that Steve Vallos is the starting C for the Broncos. HAHA.

  2. Whee. There we go. Chris Clemons not on PUP.

Doesn’t that feel so much better than obsessing over backups getting cut?

  3. Yup, saw the Broncos cut Ryan Lilja. $$$?

  4. FairbanksDoug says:

Not feeling real good about Clemons not being available for game 2 with S.F. Gawd I hope Avril is everything he is suppose to be then, we haven’t really seen him put in time in a game with an our D-line scares me.

  5. If Avril, Schofield, and Bennett are all 100% for the SF game, I think we’ll be fine.

  6. Report from Seahawks now is that Antoine Winfield is announcing his retirement.

klm008, Lilja was cut due to his bad knee.
