  1. Time to find the 53!!

  2. headline:

    Left in the dust
The Chargers said goodbye to the preseason in style, with a 41-6 home win over the 49ers.

um pretty sure the 9ners – crushed

  3. So anyone want to toss out 5 interesting things they think we might see between now and Saturday? Here’s mine.

    1. Brady Quinn will get cut after we spend all day tomorrow trying to trade him to the Jets for a 7th rounder. Not even the Jets are dumb enough to not realize he’ll get cut so they can grab him off the wire for free.

    2. We’ll end up picking up someone else’s rookie QB and toss him on the PS.

    3. Spencer Ware will get released. I don’t think he brings as much to the special teams as Coleman does. Coleman sticks, Ware cut.

    4. Winfield will get traded for a 6th. But it won’t happen until Monday so we’re going to be heavy on CB’s on the initial 53 roster.

    5. At least one of our injured DL’s will be placed on the PuP as a means of getting down to 53, even though the player could be back by week 4 or 5. It’s the price we have to pay to keep healthy bodies on-board while the others heal up.

  4. grizindabox24 says:

skavage, CC is the only DL that could be put on PUP. Do not see Winfield going anywhere.

  5. Mrob is cut – to be resigned later at a lower rate. Coleman sticks.

Mayowa is this years undrafted guy – named starter for week 1 due to injuries.

We pick up at least one player from another team and put him on the 53 man roster. Could be a OG or DL guy

How does the Irvin deal work – do we have to waive a guy to get to 53 and then are able to bring him back when suspension starts – or does his suspension start now?

  6. grizindabox24 says:

xcman, Irvin does not count against the 53.

  7. Irvin doesn’t count against the 53 until he comes back from suspension.

  8. so final roster by Saturday at 3:00 our time

  9. bsinnitt says:

Other than the obvious stand outs, I liked the play of Siliga and Howard on D. I thought lane showed well on special teams as our best gunner (just like last year). Bradford looks promising at Mike and Willson looks like he’ll be getting game reps soon. Go Hawks!!

  10. bsinnitt says:

Not to stir the shiz but remember the conversation about Harper vs. Kearse a few weeks ago? Pretty sure that one’s been put to rest. T -town, Go Hawks!!

  11. grizindabox24 says:

bsinnitt, it was put to rest a few weeks ago

  12. bsinnitt says:

I’m curious to see how they’ll use Williams. You can’t be a one trick pony (go routes) usually against th real deal and be successful. Hopefully he can be tough on come backs.

  13. JoeinKirkland says:

bsinnitt, remember in the Packers game when Williams caught the ball on the crossing pattern and then beat everyone to the edge to get a first down? I think he is more than a one-trick pony, but he does seem to be injury prone. That is what held him back in Arizona. The kids has talent, but he has to stay healthy.
