In somewhat of a surprise move, the Seattle Seahawks released receiver Early Doucet this afternoon.

The former Arizona Cardinal signed with Seattle on Friday, and practiced with the team on Sunday. However, Doucet missed the next three days of practice with an undisclosed injury.

“He’s been banged up, and he’s got some issues we’re still working with right now,” Carroll said, when asked about Doucet this afternoon after practice.

According to the NFL transaction report released this afternoon, the Louisiana State product was released with a “Failure to disclose physical condition” designation.

With Doucet gone, the Seahawks now have 12 receivers on the 90-man roster.

“Failure to disclose physical condition…”? Eric does that designation indicate that when we signed him he failed to disclose to the team that he had some sort of injury or other health condition? I’m not sure I’ve heard that one before. Might have to go do some research.

Does Early Doucet set the record for early exit?

  3. SignalCaller03 says:

Just love how we set the tempo for free agents coming in here. Not being in desperation for depth is wonderful. Don’t waste our time!

  4. Ewalters7354 says:

Early Doucet is a poor man’s Ben Obomanu. That’s why he was just a camp body.Early!

  5. GeorgiaHawk says:

Funny comment about the Eli/Peyton rap video commercial.-

“Sadly, this was just as good as any Top 40 Song that I’ve heard in the last 10 years.”

  6. GeorgiaHawk says:

I’m so glad to be a Seahawk fan.

  7. Are you on a one post per beer regimen Georgia?

  8. GeorgiaHawk says:

Galena- You let me down once before with your (balls are intact) comment.

No really, we are about to start the season with very high hopes and it seems like very few want to blog about it.

    Perhaps we should just suck!
That would bring back the BobbyKs of the world and perhaps a few others. No offense BobbyK but you posted far more when we sucked than when we are doing well now.

Georgiahawk you are now my favorite commenter as I have just finished the wild card game on you tube. Yesterday I watched the 4thand9ers game. All on you tube via my smart TV thanks to you. I had no idea. …I owe you several shots and will continue shots in your honor. …you are the man. ….thanks

  10. GeorgiaHawk says:

OK, I’m done! Had it! I am totally taking myself off this blog! I’m pulling a Pabs, a Chuck, a BobbyK!
I will never post on this blog again today!

  11. edstang45 says:

    All hail GeorgiaHawk….

  12. edstang45 says:

Quit snivlin GH and get to posting links

  13. Georgia – Remember when you would make fun of me for having “too many” posts?

This is a post. There. Happy?

Pretty sure I’m jacked about the upcoming season!

Somehow the blog turned into a “if you don’t agree with me (not “me”) you’re a Joseph Stalin communist” or a “you are posting as someone else crap,” so I’ve done the world a favor and have shut up so, please, leave me alone. I just want to read about the news and it’s clear most don’t care what I have to say – so I won’t say it, but that certainly doesn’t mean I’m not as excited about the season as anyone.

  14. sluggo42 says:

I think every topic has been rehashed sixty-one different ways, and we just need some game time.
I gotta believe this site explodes tomorrow at say around six till about the next preseason game, then we’ll blink, and the season will have ended…

  15. raymaines says:

Doucet didn’t disclose he physically sucked, so the ‘Hawks fired him. The wide receiver draft class of 2008 was sort of a flop I’d say.

  16. montanamike2 says:

I like your posts Bobbyk and some people have attacked others for living/eating/breathing Seahawks but it won’t come from me. I think Sluggo’s right, we just need some game to watch because i’m worn out from offseason and need some real football so i have something new to discuss.

  17. montanamike2 says:

    Tomorrow the stars will shine!

  18. raymaines says:

By this time tomorrow night some guy you’ve never heard of will have essentually played himself out of a job. I’m thinking it might be a running back, but that’s just a guess.

  19. Is there going to be a live game chat tomorrow?

  20. AKhawkFan says:

Just 2 cents from a total lurker:

I miss BobbyK and his long winded (yet insightful) comments. Most on this blog don’t have the football fan IQ that BK and Duke have. I claim myself as a lurker because I am one, but why dog on a guy because he posts less frequently? I could post 30 times per thread too if I felt it necessary. We all have our annoying ticks as frequent commenters: ACIB=Aaron Curry, BobbyK=T-Jack/Matt Flynn, Georgiahawk=slaughtering classic songs in the form of hawk fandom, Snydro=everything. Screw it, lets be friends meatheads!

Cheers to an amazing year! Go hawks! Super Bowl or bust baby! I 3elieve!

  21. Well said BobbyK. That’s why I rarely even read the comments section anymore. People like the georgia guy refuse to have a conversation and turn everything into childish screaming match.

Funny this was the first comments section I’ve read in months just to see if there was more info on the Doucet situation and there wasn’t. Just the same internet tough guys calling people out from the safety of their mother’s basement.

    Reminds me of cowboy fans…

  22. Zokrehawi says:

Cant we all just get along?
    RIP Rodney

  23. GeorgiaHawk says:

I hope no one here thought I was actually serious last night. Anyways-

    Go Hawks!!!

  24. GeorgiaHawk says:

BTW- BobbyK, I rib you sometimes because I want you back here more often. No offense.

And who cares if most don’t agree with you, (I doubt if that’s true though).

Posters like gvineq is a good example, they see one or two things posted and form an opinion without even looking at the whole body of work.

That’s exactly what some have done to you in the past, and what some do to me now.
Now I’m the first to say that not everything I post is of great value to all,( Seahawks news wise ) and posting often will certainly get you criticized around here. And I’ve been over the line my share of the time.
I don’t recall saying you posted too much here, (maybe I said you posted too much about a certain topic) But if I did say it then I apologize for it because that’s not how I truly feel.

So come on back more often because your body of work is just fine in my book.

  25. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

BobbyK, you had thicker skin in the past. God knows bobby we have had disagreements over the years i have always looked forward to your posts thou. blog is not quite the same without you bobby. i think some forget
you can disagree without making it personal.(that’s called a healthy discussion) anyways bobby here’s to hoping you post more as the season starts.
