Running back Marshawn Lynch had been curiously absent from the beginning of the Seattle Seahawks’ offseason program, as reported by Danny O’Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle.

However, Clare Farnsworth of writes that Lynch arrived at the VMAC this week to take part in Phase II of the team’s offseason regimen.

“He just jumped right back in there, didn’t miss a beat,” Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. “It’s great to have him out there. It kind of lifts morale. Guys love to see him. He’s a great player and competitor for us, so it’s always good to have him out there.”

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has a nice profile on former Seahawks defensive end Nick Reed, who has moved on from the NFL and is training to become a fighter pilot.

  1. SandpointHawk says:

    Good news concerning Marshawn!

  2. SandpointHawk says:

Real Rob is a great way to start the day. Hey Moffitt I think you might benefit from working out Browner in the off season….

  3. GeorgiaHawk says:

    5:21am Eastern time?-

Eric, are you staying up late or are you getting up early?
    Regardless, I like it.

I was an early critic of real Rob, ( Thinking it could turn into something like Hard Knocks) but it is growing on me the more I watch it.
And Moffitt is looking like he’s getting in better shape. Such a funny guy, I hope he and Carp takes it to the next level.

  4. bird_spit says:

RealRob is the best, no doubt about it.

  5. sluggo42 says:

I wish we would have signed Titus….

Arrested for something bad I think….. What an asshat

  6. Dukeshire says:

Not just arrested: arrested twice in one day. Once for DUI. Then after he was released from jail, arrested again for trying to steal his car out of the impound lot. Good lord…

  7. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

Ok this is not to debate Tebow again but to debate Quinn as a viable back up. the more i look at tape of quinn i see whitehurst all over again. this guy is not bad he is absolutely worthless as a QB. he looked good in college however it did not translate to the NFL. i sure hope portis can step up this year.

  8. sluggo42 says:

I think kam bam would have taken this guy out to the woodshed for a little lesson in proper seahawk behavior… Who signed Titus anyways? The Rams? hahaha

Okie, please… do not even mention the word Tebox…and yes Quinn isn’t all that as of yet. He was on a real crappy team so perhaps a change of scenery and brain waves will change his pschye. He has the physical tools for sure

  9. SaigonSun says:

I’d take Tebow over Quinn in a heartbeat. I like him, but not the evangelical circus that follows him.

  10. bird_spit says:

Tebow yes, but only if he converts to full back and is willing to compete with mike rob.

I’m hoping this is the year portis gets a legit shot at backup.

  11. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

Sluggo, watch the tape quinn is horrible , KC ha 6 pro-bowlers , now while that is not definitive on a teams quality they ha talent especially on offense. i would take most any other back up then quinn. only time will tell but tape doesn’t lie.

  12. Canfan says:

Perhaps Eric linked to this before, but Marshawn is rated the No. 2 RB in the league by writer Dan Hanzus.

Not bad for a guy who cost the Seahawks a fourth round pick!

  13. I loved the line with Avril – “hey we are thinking super bowl so if you aren’t you’re in the wrong locker room”

    LOVE IT. –

I never wanted Tebow but if Saigon is going to keep throwing out demeaning comments I hope we sign him

  14. Canfan says:

PFT is doing a Mount Rushmore for each franchise, asking fans to name the greatest four players/coaches of their teams. Here are my nominations:

    1. Steve Largent
    2. Cortez Kennedy
    3. Walter Jones
    4. Kenny Easley

If there was a second tier, I’d add these four players: Matt Hasselbeck, Dave Krieg, Curt Warner and Jacob Green.

  15. raymaines says:

If Ricardo Lockette had signed with just about any other team I’d be wishing him the best, but I just can’t do that for a 49er.

I’ve turned a new leaf. I’m not going to cheer against anybody ever again, but I just can’t bring myself to actually cheer for someone in a red and gold uniform.

As for Tim Tebow: I want the very best players available in Seahawk blue. If TT is better than Quinn, then bring him on, but I really don’t think he is. Please don’t anybody say he won a playoff game because he didn’t. He threw a 5 yard crossing route pass that you or I could have made against a cover zero defence and the receiver won the game. And it would be kind of fun, don’t you think, to hear the chants for Tebow the first time RW put up an interception?

  16. HawkfaninMT says:

    Regarding the Real ROb…

I love that the new guys are “all in” and playing around in the locker room… love the family atmosphere.

    Great stuff!

  17. WiscCory says:

Canfan – although Easley is one of my favorite Hawks ever, he shouldn’t be on the metaphorical mountain.

I’m thinking Paul Allen, whom saved the franchise from leaving Seattle and keeps investing in the team to make them relevant year after year. A runner up would be Chuck Knox, who put the Hawks on the map in the 1980’s. My favorite season was 1983, period! (driven by Curt Warner and Chuck Knox) 2005 would’ve trumped that had we seen a different result in Detriot.

  18. Sekolah says:

Tim Tebow is not better than Brady Quinn. Here’s the deal, while Quinn might be the equivalent of the new Rick Mirer, he has something which Tebow does clearly not – staying power within the NFL. See, teams value Quinn for his football IQ, his dedication to the game, along with the physical gifts he possesses.

Tebow? What does Tebow have aside from his raging desire to be the next celebrity super-christian. He has terrible (at this point let’s just call it irreversible) throwing mechanics, still reads through progressions like he’s still at Florida, has next to no poise, and is an unwanted media magnet.

A position change might work for Tebow (TE), but only if God tells him that’s what needs to happen, so don’t hold your breath. God is sick enough to sit there and tell Tebow to “try harder” at being an NFL QB than anything else for the next decade.

Honestly, Tebow should probably just call it a day on his NFL career and join up with the Power Team – you know, those religious nuts who all are juiced up on roids and performing miraculous feats of strength, all in the name of the Lord. “Father, who art in Heaven, give me the strength to squat this 800 lbs. refrigerator!!”

  19. What does Tebow have aside from his raging desire to be the next celebrity super-christian

but not the evangelical circus that follows him.

These kinds of prejudiced hateful remarks should be kindly left off of this blog

  20. Dukeshire says:

Can someone explain how Tebow is again a topic of conversation here? Schneider, when asked about any interest, said, “ah, no”.

Eric, will you have access to the latest workouts?

  21. Sekolah says:

“These kinds of prejudiced hateful remarks should be kindly left off of this blog”

Don’t care. Seriously, I don’t. Where issues of religion come into play, I don’t care if I hurt yours or anyone else’s feelings. Last time I checked this is a football blog, not a church social.

  22. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

Sekolah, leave his faith out of it.

  23. chuck_easton says:

I will not even get into a debate about whether Quinn or Tebow is the better QB.

The issue here is who is the better BACKUP QB for the Seahawks?

In Quinn you have a guy who knows he’s here to be the #2. Just like the #1 QB he loves to watch game film. He is a student of the game. He will be sitting in the room right beside Wilson helping to prepare for each and every game.

In Tebow you get a guy who doesn’t want to be a backup QB. He wants to start. He has a legion of fans that will suddenly become Seahawk fans. Those fans will not be content with their divine chosen son being the backup. We will begin to see the ‘start Tebow now’ billboards, blog postings, calls to the local media outlets. Any mis-step by Wilson will lead to immediate Tebow chants from his followers.

All the while Tebow, in his passive-aggressive style, will do nothing to stop his rabid followers from doing everything short of running Wilson over in the parking lot to get their beloved Tebow in the line-up.

Again, have you ever heard Tebow say anything about wanting to start? No. He lets his delusional followers campaign for him.

But on the other side of the coin, have you EVER heard Tebow come out and publicly say ‘I’m the backup here. My job is to help the starter get ready to play. Thanks for all your support, but it isn’t needed.’ No you haven’t. Tebow likes that there are still delusional Tebowmaniacs that insist he is better than Manning because ‘at least he won a play-off game in Denver’. Tebow likes a millionaire Florida Attorney paying for and running television ads in Jacksonville demanding that the Jags not only sign, but START Tebow immediately. Tebow likes that his flock still insist that ‘if some team just gave Tim a CHANCE to start, he’d prove to everybody he is a winner and deserves to be an NFL QB.

Now, who do you want as the backup to Wilson? I know who I want and he’s already on the team.

  24. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

sekolah, and his faith has nothing to do with football leave it of the blog . you are being hateful, why not bash a few gays while your at it? that type of hate is ignorant and doesn’t belong here or anywhere for that matter. grow up and leave it at the door.

  25. FleaFlicker says:

    So…how about that weather?

  26. HonHawksLSB says:

I like to see Percy in the locker room with the guys and keep hearing that Earl is small, but dude looked pretty thick to me. Almost like a RB.

Beast is back! Although a little down that no Marshawn sighting on the Real Rob Report. But I love to see RW in there breaking down more film.

  27. Last time I checked this is a football blog, not a church social.

Which is EXACTLY why you should leave it out . . .

  28. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

guys the debate i started was never about tebow being here( i am not for that) it was about how bad quinn really is. read that article in the link than do a search for quinn , there is absolutely nothing good. i was trying to bring up a debate on who mite have been better.

by the way chuck quinn has most of the same faults that tebow has. the guy makes horrible choices on the field great mechanics and a decent wonderlic have done nothing for him.

  29. chuck_easton says:

The front office auditioned four QB’s to find a backup. Of the four they liked Quinn the best. So he’s here and he has the inside edge to be the backup.

If you want to debate who could potentially be a better backup that is available as an FA right now I wouldn’t list Tebow and only Tebow.

But while we’re at it, I’d say no to Vince Young (headcase but with skills), no to JeMarcus Russell (no work ethic, wasted his talent).

Hmmm, that just about covers the available FA backups out there.

  30. chuck_easton says:

And, as always, my choice would have been to keep Flynn as backup for another year. I would readily agree that Quinn is a step down from Flynn as a backup.

  31. Sekolah says:

“why not bash a few gays while your at it?”

Probably because I find homosexuality considerably more tolerable than I do religious fundamentalist freaks. Sorry, but Tim Tebow and really anyone who paints themselves as “holier than thou” or as being “on a mission from God” opens themselves up to be targeted by people like me.

You sit there and say “leave his faith out of it” when one of the biggest issues surrounding this young man is the hype that he himself perpetuates, and nurtures, and allows other people to perpetuate and nurture. This hype is in large due to his “faith”. The day Tim Tebow leaves his “faith” out of his professional career is the day I’ll take him out of the cross hairs – until then I’ll snipe when it suits me.

  32. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

sekolah i put the article up not for tebow but for how it addresses quinn. it brings up valid points. my point on tebow is this if you don’t like his faith keep it to yourself in the end that will not be why he doesn’t play here. tebow is not coming here because of his skill set or lack there of. railing against his faith or others like that on here is pointless. just like a gay player it has no bearing on his ability to play ball he either can or can’t.

chuck, and that would be why i wanted a QB drafted. although i will not say quinn is better than vince young i will agree lower maintenance . vince young even with bad mechanics is still a better QB than Quinn. go back and watch the tape on both VY looks way better at his best than Quinn does at his. more importantly why play it safe with quinn the FO has shown the ability to work with head cases.
i really don’t believe quinn is a better QB because tebow knows something quinn doesn’t how to win. plain an simple and in the end
is that not what matters the most ? also does anyone here really believe that whitehurst is better than tebow? or any other QB in any league in the US/Canada. i mean really guys we all know first hand just how bad whitehurst is.

the tebow article raised serious questions about our back up and others as well. that is why i brought this up not to rail against religious beliefs of a sub par QB.

  33. chuck_easton says:

I don’t care one way or the other about Tim Tebow and what his personal beliefs are.

If he was the type of player that could come on to a team and embrace the backup role while learning behind an established QB he would likely be on a team right now.

The problem is, with Tebow, you get the rabid followers. These people are not fans of the team. They are Tebow fans and nothing short of Tebow starting will satisfy them. That is why no team will give him a backup job. It’s not worth the headache.

One Tebowmaniac actually responded to the article in the Jacksonville paper that Khan better realize that the people of Jacksonville are not Jags fans, they are Tebow fans. Nothing short of Tebow being signed and immediately handed the starting job will satisfy them.

Tebow does nothing to stop his maniacal supporters from their vocal mission to see Tebow in a starting QB job. He likes it in that he doesn’t have to tarnish his ‘team player’ and ‘all around good guy’ image while still getting the message out.

The best line I’ve heard is that some team should ‘give Tebow the starting job for a year…then if he fails, great. This will all go away. But we know he won’t fail.’

So, again. I ask, take away any opinion of the guys personal beliefs. Set aside the thought of could he, would he be a decent backup. Look at the ‘extra-curriculars’ you get with the package.

Is this something you would wish to bring to Seattle? I say HELL NO.

If Quinn doesn’t cut it as the backup, find somebody (anybody else). Not the kid from Florida. If that makes me anti (fill in the blank), so be it.

I wouldn’t wish the circus on the team I hate the most let alone willingly ask for the circus to set up tent in VMAC.

  34. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

chuck read what i wrote,” I don’t want Tebow” i want someone other than quinn. my pick from the bigging was VY, headcase for sure but IMO a much better QB than Quinn. let’s face it this front office picked whitehurst. of all the back ups out there i really believe VY was best match skill set wise.

  35. chuck_easton says:

And Young is still out there. Nobody’s beating down his door to outbid another team for his services.

My guess is he’ll still be available come September. If the team has the entire training camp and pre-season to evaluate Quinn and they don’t like what they see, they can call Young.

I’m going to bet you dollars to donoughts that come opening day Vince Young will still be home waiting for his phone to ring and Quinn will be wearing a Seahawks Jersey and carrying a clipboard.

  36. Interesting that people think, and make excuses for Felons being on the team, but they don’t want a guy who professes faith.

  37. bbnate420 says:

Good lord, debating Tebow again is about as fun as sticking a red, hot poker in your eye.

hawkfan, you could’ve mentioned Quinn without referencing Tebow. You should know by know what mentioning that poor excuse for a QB does. At least own it.

hawkfan and xcman, the first comment from Sekolah had nothing hateful in it. Get over yourselves. There is an evangelical circus that follows Tebow. Do you deny that he has a large, evangelical following that is very vocal with their support? They don’t care if he can hit the broadside of a barn from 10 yards, they’re going to push for him to start because he CONSTANTLY reps their guy in the sky. Some people think it’s a distraction and not productive for a team. ComPete shouldn’t have to worry about playing Tebow even though he sucks.

Nobody should have to leave religion out of it with Tebow. He certainly doesn’t keep it to himself. YOU brought Tebow up out of NOWHERE. It’s not like Sekolah brought religion up out of the blue. TEBOW has made it part of the discussion with him. Just because you have similar beliefs doesn’t give you the right to try and censor people here.

Case in point, both RW and Doug Baldwin are religious men and BRIEFLY mention it from time to time in the popular media. Baldwin mentions it in his Fresh Files occasionally. He could the whole time as far as I’m concerned as that’s his own medium. It’s not a constant stream of verbal diarrhea from their mouths. You don’t see anyone mentioning an evangelical circus with them or criticizing their mentioning of their religion on here. Aaron Curry’s and Forsett’s twitter pages were littered with bible passages. No one here was criticizing them for it, and I don’t remember them mentioning their faith in EVERY interview.

  38. bbnate420 says:

xcman, you are completely full of it here. It’s so strange to me how christians in this country consisting predominantly of christians, or people who claim to be, constantly try to play the victim and have such a massive victim complex.

Who here said they don’t want a guy that professes faith? I want guys that can play FOOTBALL and help the Hawks win, not a religious congregation. I don’t care what they believe. Did/does anyone advocate getting rid of RW, Baldwin, Curry, or Forsett because of their faith? They advocate getting rid of Curry because HE SUCKED, just like Tebow SUCKS! The circus around him is another detraction. So it’s okay to say you don’t want Moss/TO because of the circus involved with signing them but not Tebow?

As far as felons go, we have a criminal justice system for that. It’s not my job or place to place moral judgements on the players IMO. I want players that can play, period. If they’re really such an outrageous felon they’ll be in jail and unable to play. Let ye without sin cast the first stone. Ever heard that one?

  39. bbnate420 says:

And whom on this team is a felon? If you think Lynch is, you need to get a dictionary and look the word up.

  40. bbnate420 says:

And JS has already said they have no interest in Tebow. Give it up already. I’ll eat crow if he starts for someone and tears it up, but you have to eat crow when he’s a FB in NE or throwin’ ducks up in Canada.

As to the topic of this thread, I’m glad Lynch reported just so this stupid, non-story can die. Gotta find something to write about I guess.

  41. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

nate “Ok this is not to debate Tebow again but to debate Quinn as a viable back up. the more i look at tape of quinn i see whitehurst all over again. this guy is not bad he is absolutely worthless as a QB. he looked good in college however it did not translate to the NFL. i sure hope portis can step up this year.”

how much clearer can i make it?

nate half what he wrote is in regards to tebow’s faith and goes on in next post to say how because he is a christian fundamentalist that he deserves to be attacked,
“Sorry, but Tim Tebow and really anyone who paints themselves as “holier than thou” or as being “on a mission from God” opens themselves up to be targeted by people like me.”

if tom brady said same things as tebow no one would care and if you don’t believe that you are lying to yourself

  42. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

and for the 5th time nate this is not about tebow it’s about quinn!

  43. bbnate420 says:

hawkfan, You could’ve talked about Quinn without mentioning Tebow. YOU chose to mention him. You defend him at every turn. If you didn’t want a debate about Tebow, you shouldn’t have mentioned him. Cut the crap.

You criticized Sekolah BEFORE he posted the the statement that you quoted. So you were trying to censor him before he had even really criticized his religion.

And I don’t know about attacked, but he certainly leaves himself open to be criticized or have his religion challenged if he wants to constantly yak about it. He certainly could’ve kept it to himself. He has the right to talk about it as much as he wants, and anybody has the right to have whatever opinion they want to about his religion. Just because you choose to believe something and can’t defend it with logic doesn’t make it off limits. This isn’t necessarily the forum, but Sekolah has every right to attack his beliefs, verbally. I’m not saying that we should debate the merits of his religion here. I haven’t. But it is football related to worry about the fanatics/circus that would come with signing him and how it affects the team. First and foremost, the people who don’t want him here don’t want him because they think he sucks.

You still haven’t answered why it’s okay to worry about the circus with a TO, but not Tebow? You still haven’t named a felon on the Hawks either.

  44. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

nate listen the first comment i criticized because it was plain anti christian the second i quoted was BS justification of bad behavior.

the article was part of the basis for the discussion, it was brutal evaluation of quinn which i really find spot on. regardless i prefaced with a statement which i also quoted. this was about quinn not tebow not my fault if no one can read.

chuck, and no one was poking around at quinn much either. he is a very bad QB maybe a step above whitehurst but no where near Tjack or flynn.

  45. chuck_easton says:

Ok you don’t like Quinn. But the FO does. You prefer Young. But nobody else in the NFL agrees with you as he hasn’t been on an NFL regular season roster since 2011.

So you either are going to be very unhappy, or you can pay several million dollars, buy your wn team and have Vince Yung and Tim Tebow as your starting QBs.

Otherwise your concerns/ complaints appear to be falling n deaf ears as the team doesn’t agree with you and they have a say in the matter, you do not.

  46. I only bring it up because they are bigotted remarks and don’t need to be brought up.

    Definition of BIGOT

: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group with hatred and intolerance

Russel Wilson professes faith – yes in a different way than Tebow but nobody attacks him on the issue.

I know that Tebow has no place on this team – just get tired of rants attacking him for things other than FB issues. Just like BobbyK sometimes gets called on the carpet for disliking Josh Portis for his past.

  47. At the end of the day. God is going to Judge the people who down grade TT about His faith in him. At least he’s not shame of his faith in God. When did Bowing your head and getting on one knee become to thanking God become T-Bowing what ever they called it. because they trying to make fun of Tebow. And one day he will have his place in heaven. now praise God and back to football go Seahawks. Amen

  48. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

chuck, quinn= whitehurst that’s my point. maybe my opinion but i am not only one who sees him in that . this is football blog i was bringing up a valid point about this team. again is that not the point?i have not heard one person say i was wrong in my assessment of quinn. everyone wanted to bad mouth Tebow rather than discuss the question i posed to everyone.regardless of how the FO feels he sucks just like whitehurst did. oh and just for those of you who think quinn is smart whitehurst scored a point higher on wonderlic. now there is a good chance that quinn is not even on the team in 5 months, he could also be a future trade for a first round pick in a year or two because like alex smith he finally gets it. my point was this guys tape is whitehurst scary and all i wanted to do is discuss it and people want to bash tebow an his beliefs. used to be you could come on here an pose a question and people would discuss it not anymore seems all anyone wants to do is make it about things other than football.

like tebow or not he is a winner no one can dispute that, proven fact.
that was what the article points out and the question posed is do these other QB’s
with supposed better smarts and skills deserve a job ahead of him? my point is not whether tebow should be here but as bad as the others are is there really no better option?
chuck, if people on here were not so damn ready to pick a fight at the sight of tebows name they could have read what i had suggested we talk about.

hate to say it but this blog is becoming a waste of my time.

  49. bbnate420 says:

hawkfan, saying that Tebow is a proven winner is not a fact. Look up the word fact. If it was a fact, why aren’t NFL teams clamoring to sign him? I guess it’s just this countries’ huge bias against Christians and people of faith? That’s why out of 535 members of Congress, only one has the stones to profess to being an atheist. But I digress.

I don’t think anyone here is completely sold on Quinn or thinks he’s going to win a team a bunch of games. He certainly hasn’t played real well in the NFL. I also think he hasn’t been in great situations. I said I wanted Thigpen and Wallace more than Quinn before they signed him. But I trust PC/JS to evaluate him more than anyone here or myself. Let’s just give him a chance. We don’t even know if he’ll be the backup yet. He has to earn it. I also was for taking a look at Young, but PC/JS have chosen not to do so for whatever reason. You’d think PC would know what Young was potentially capable of as much as anyone after he destroyed his Trojans in 2006. They must have their reasons.

corn, I definitely could write a rant in response, but it’s probably pointless and I’m guessing some here would get their undies in a twist. It’s not the place either. I will say this, your lack of grammar and syntax illuminate the mind that constructed such a post.

  50. bbnate420 says:

I also have a hilarious joke about Tebowing, but I know some here with thin skin will get offended. :-(

  51. Bbnate20: Ur the only one on here is pointless. I don’t have to make fun of tebow. Ur excuse are for not wanting tebow is his skill set. U don’t want him on the Hawks because he’s a football guy that walk in the name of Jesus first off if Tebow decided to try out as a Fb, TE, ur still wouldn’t want him so you must have Ur thongs backwards. I rather not go back and forth with someone who fuels themselves with ugliness and coward themselves typing behind a Computer. Go Hawks

  52. Your the only one with thin skin and a 40 Whiner fan in Seahawks Clothing.

  53. bbnate420 says:

corn, a retarded 5 year old could construct a better sentence than your stupid ass. Now go blow in the wind. You’re irrelevant. You might as well be talking to a wall in an insane asylum. You probably are.

Tebow blows. Just like you do. You and your buddy Tebow better take care of your money. If not, Tebowing will consist of being down on more than one knee. Breathe through your nose.

  54. bbnate420 says:

Sorry, I should’ve just ignored him.

  55. I’m sorry did I rub u the wrong way. I know the truth hurts thats way ugliness coming out of your words. You sound like a 40 whiner. Its funny u say go blow myself, would u say that in my face I think not because I have respect for the the Seahawks Blog because in a real fan. it looks like you should get on your knees and ask God for forgiveness for your ugly words you like to type about people. and you’re right you should have just ignored me. but hey I understand the truth hurts Go Hawks to go win the Superbowl later buddy

  56. who has hurt Danskin now

  57. Oops typo!! Who’s has the thin skin now

  58. bbnate420 says:
