If you have some free time this afternoon and want to be entertained, check out Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman John Moffitt, who’s co-hosting this afternoon with Bob Stelton on 710 ESPN Seattle radio.
Check out a live stream of the show here, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. Pacific time.
Was just logging on to post this.
Good grief Moff is funny.

Moffit might not be the best player on the team, but he is probably the funniest, I would love to spend a day in his head, some weird stuff going on up there, lol.

I would rather he were focused on getting better. Have any of you read his twitter feed…

I dont mind Moffit being a goofball, I think its great. Being goofy has nothing to do with one’s commitment to playing football. And he has ADD or ADHD; while that doesnt necessarily make you funny, it makes some things understandable regarding Moffits behavior.
It isnt like the guy is getting into trouble. While we all worry about why he seemed to be in Cable/Carrols doghouse, the reality is that none of us–not even the writers–really know whats up (or if they do they arent elaborating).
If he isnt motivated by Sweezy being there and picking up the NFL game so quickly, nothing in the world will motivate him.

I love how he says Siragusa’s head is huge, then says its almost as big as Steve Hutchinson’s, which he wouldnt even call a cranium, its more like a fossil! OMG, I cracked up over that one!

Moffitt is on the radio interviewing Doug Baldwin who is in the gym training. I’m just saying….

That yahoo report is pretty good, but they repeat the same fallacy about Miller. I don’t see why he would restructure if it meant losing any guaranteed money, and I don’t see why the Hawks would want to increase his cap number in 2014 and 2015 just to decrease it in 2013. Yes, his cap number is 10.8 mil in 2013, but 5 mil of that is going to count against the cap even if he is released. Not that I think it will happen, but he would have a 3 mil cap number in 2013 for the Hawks if they traded him. His cap number is only 6.8 mil in 2014 and 5.8 mil in 2015, very reasonable figures for a TE of his caliber. I would guess that his contract was PURPOSELY set up like this to leave the team more space in 2014 and 2015, when they knew they would need it.
I do agree with them that Obomanu will probably be a cap casualty. I don’t think you can justify paying him 2.3 mil in 2013.

It really is all about value, and I think Obomanu is a goner too.

John Moffit is John Belushi (not quite as funny) reincarnated.

John Abraham released today – another older pass rusher – - worth a look?

People look at Millers contract and only see the number.
It is assumed he is not earning this money as his receptions, yards, and TD numbers don’t justify this, and they probably don’t when looked at in a vacuum.
What the numbers don’t show is that Miller is an excellent blocking TE and if you go back and look at the film you will see Miller throwing the critical block that springs Lynch for the big run and/or TD.
Some TEs are pass catching TEs that can’t or won’t block. Some TEs are blocking TEs that couldn’t catch a cold let alone a football thrown their way
We have a TE that excells at both pass catching AND blocking.

I was critical of Miller over the course of the year – my thinking not so much based on his salary, but on the fact that a more explosive TE would be an important weapon for our QB, and the style he plays. But Miller really shut me up with some key catches over the last few games of the regular season, and then his huge production in the two playoff games. Not complaining any more.

pdway – Yes. Abraham has significant value to the Seahawks in 2013, IMO.

kind of interesting unusual that there are 3 guys of similar age/resumes coming free at the same time.
for some reason – on a gut level, I think Freeney is the best bet. But I can’t say I’ve closely watched the three of them this last season.
