I was a rare occation indeed this past season that Thomas was playing up. About the only times we saw it with any regularity was when the offense motioned away, and then he has to come up in cover 1. Regardless, I agree with the dropped picks, he needs improvement in that area, but as for tackling, he got tricked in the division round against Atl but aside from that, I cant remember that happening to him. He's a much harder tackler than his size would indicate.

Back to listed topic - who actually makes that decision to hire this position? Is it JS as the GM or Pete as the President or is this a position that Allen may get involved in as it has to do with Money and contracts?

And Kam to LB doesnt sound so stupid now, after his up-and-down year and not even sniffing the Pro Bowl. I wouldnt mind seeing Seattle target a faster guy who can still hit at SS. Kam has been a liability in coverage, even against TE's.

And Thomas, as fine a player as he is, dropped like 6 picks in his hands this season, and is constantly run over whenever Seattle was dumb enough to try him in run support. He also wasnt great covering WR's in the slot. Thomas is pretty small, and even though I wanted us to draft him and really like him, he's pretty much one-dimensional; he's a deep cover FS. The only other thing he might become good at is bitzing the qb. As I said, he's simply awful in run support and wasnt great in the slot.

I love the Hawks, and I really like Kam and Thomas. But they need to stop thinking Thomas can do what Eric Berry can; he cant. He will always get run over by guys like AP and Gore, not to mention bigger backs. And the jury is still out on Kam as an every-down SS, IMO. And I know that JS and PC wont hesitate to move guys around or bench them if they get a shot at someone better.

A lot of Hawk fans, like any teams fans, tend to overvalue their guys. I think this year Kam was very overrated and to some extent, Thomas as well, though with him I think it was the coaching staff that got a little too carried away with trying to make him into a guy who can play anywhere and do anything, when he just isnt big enough.

Im not advocating bailing on guys cause they arent prototypical size, but you do have to be realistic.

And if I was browner, if they tried bringing Revis in and paying him a buttload and benching me, I would demand a trade. Browner will be lucky at his age to get one decent contract out of the NFL, and right now he's playing at least at the 10 mill per year level, yet making only 450k. Benching him would devalue him on the open market considerably, and there's no way he puts up with that.

The Kam to LB was dropped by Eric or someone a while back when it was stated that Seattle targeted Barron or someone at Safety which could have moved Kam to LB -

We know darn well that the twins with do anything on the field to make the team better - Sign bigger CB's, move Red outside, go small at Safety etc. That is the one thing that I do really like about PC. He will look at non traditional guys and find a way to allow them to be able to contribute. I have always got tired of how teams will pass on a guy because he is not traditional, size, weight, speed for a particular position. and unlike Ruskell who would go strictly for motor (since those Traditional numbers are based on SOME truth)

IF you find the guy that has everything but that ONE thing (height, weight, speed, size, etc) that other teams are passing on and grab him - not all have panned out but many have, but we also have guys that fit that traditional mold to fill in the spots!!
