John McGrath of The News Tribune says that he’s not looking forward to a matchup of brothers John and Jim Harbaugh when Baltimore takes on San Francisco in this year’s Super Bowl, the first time two brothers have faced off as head coaches in the big game.

Specifically, McGrath is not looking forward to the two weeks of endless stories on the two brothers leading up to NFL championship.

However, I think this storyline will pale in comparison to the win one for Ray Lewis storyline, which I’ve had enough of as well.

McGrath: I guess it all comes down to the Harbaugh brothers. Lunatic Jim against John, whoever he is. We’ll find out. We’ll find out about the brothers, and the parents, and the home that produced a collision of coaches unprecedented in American sports.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks gave new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn a three-year, $5.7 million deal, paying him about $1.9 million per season. That’s why college coaches leave for the pros folks, along with the fact they don’t have to beg 18-year-old kids to join their team.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated said the success of Seattle general manager John Schneider in selecting good players in the 2012 draft has led to a trend of other NFL team selecting road scouts for their head GM or player-personnel czar roles this offseason. King: “Seattle got an eight-sack pass-rusher, Bruce Irvin, in the first round; a potential Defensive Rookie of the Year, linebacker Bobby Wagner, to buttress a weak ‘backer corps in the second round, and a potential franchise quarterback (though it’s still early to pass final judgment), Russell Wilson, in the third round. The Seahawks also selected a solid backup to Marshawn Lynch in the fourth round, Robert Turbin, a part-time starter at guard in the seventh round, J.R. Sweezy, and nickel backs and special teamers Winston Guy and Jeremy Lane in the sixth. Imagine drafting strong candidates for the offensive and defensive rookie awards — and getting them with the 47th and 75th overall picks.”
