John McGrath of The News Tribune says that he’s not looking forward to a matchup of brothers John and Jim Harbaugh when Baltimore takes on San Francisco in this year’s Super Bowl, the first time two brothers have faced off as head coaches in the big game.

Specifically, McGrath is not looking forward to the two weeks of endless stories on the two brothers leading up to NFL championship.

However, I think this storyline will pale in comparison to the win one for Ray Lewis storyline, which I’ve had enough of as well.

McGrath: I guess it all comes down to the Harbaugh brothers. Lunatic Jim against John, whoever he is. We’ll find out. We’ll find out about the brothers, and the parents, and the home that produced a collision of coaches unprecedented in American sports.

Jim Nantz, on Sunday, asked the first question. Only 999,999 to go.”

So who do you like in the big game? Are you sticking with the NFC West and going with San Francisco? Or does the thought of Jim Harbaugh hoisting the Lombardi trophy make your breakfast rise up in your esophagus? Vote below.

Will Brinson of CBS Sports takes an early look at some of the storyline for the big game. The Niners are 4.5-point favorites.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks gave new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn a three-year, $5.7 million deal, paying him about $1.9 million per season. That’s why college coaches leave for the pros folks, along with the fact they don’t have to beg 18-year-old kids to join their team.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated said the success of Seattle general manager John Schneider in selecting good players in the 2012 draft has led to a trend of other NFL team selecting road scouts for their head GM or player-personnel czar roles this offseason. King: “Seattle got an eight-sack pass-rusher, Bruce Irvin, in the first round; a potential Defensive Rookie of the Year, linebacker Bobby Wagner, to buttress a weak ‘backer corps in the second round, and a potential franchise quarterback (though it’s still early to pass final judgment), Russell Wilson, in the third round. The Seahawks also selected a solid backup to Marshawn Lynch in the fourth round, Robert Turbin, a part-time starter at guard in the seventh round, J.R. Sweezy, and nickel backs and special teamers Winston Guy and Jeremy Lane in the sixth. Imagine drafting strong candidates for the offensive and defensive rookie awards — and getting them with the 47th and 75th overall picks.”

Rob Rang of provides some major storylines to follow at this weekend’s Senior Bowl.

Dave Richard of provides a detailed report from today’s weigh-in at the Senior Bowl. North Carolina State quarterback Mike Glennon showed up nearly two inches taller than his listed height at 6-6 and ¾, drawing comparisons to Brock Osweiler.

Curious ….. does anyone know if Richard Sherman or any other pro bowl alternates will now be playing in the pro bowl?

  2. Well 6 spots just opened up on Defense since none of the 49er guys will be there.

  3. Dukeshire says:

Sr Bowl week is one of my favorites of the year. Love watching the practices, especially the one-on-one drills. You can really learn a lot about players. Fun…

  4. wow that’s big money for a defensive coordinator. had no clue they made that much.

  5. bigmike04 says:

An unnamed representative of Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson reportedly called the team this week “insisting that something be done” to adjust Wilson’s slotted third-round rookie contract. However, the new collective bargaining agreement prevents rookie contracts from being renegotiated until three of the mandatory four years have been completed. Theoretically, the Seahawks could simply cut Wilson and sign him to a new contract, if he clears waivers; however, he would not clear waivers.

  6. Seahawk44: To my knowledge, Sherman or no other Seattle player has been added to the Pro Bowl as a replacement.

BigMike04: That report has been disputed by someone within the organization. Both the team and Russell’s representation understand his contract cannot be renegotiated under the new CBA, as you mention.

  7. princeaden says:

Duke, Where can we watch Sr. Bowl practices and such ?

  8. Princeaden: Here’s a link to the schedule. Starts today on the NFL Network at 1 p.m. Pacific time.

  9. Saw a story this morning about a 49er fan stabbing a Falcon fan in the neck after yesterday’s game. Guess you can take a 9er fan out of San Fran but you can’t take the San Fran out of a 9er fan. … meh

  10. I wouldn’t worry much about Wilson…in about 2years and 2 weeks he’s going to be ridiculously wealthy…

  11. That is the weird thing about both Niner and Giant fans…from the land of fruits, nuts, love and peace, they are downright raunchy and belligerent. The Giant fans will get right in your face, aggressively, at Dodger Stadium

  12. djbargelt says:

Mike Sando is reporting that RW has been selected to go to the Pro-Bowl as a sub for Matt Ryan, who injured his shoulder Sunday. Con-grats Russell!

  13. Dave Boling says:

Haven’t seen anything official yet, but with Ryan, Rodgers and RGIII out, third-alternate Russell Wilson should be getting the call

  14. chuck_easton says:

Sherman won’t get the nod for defense as the three CB’s chosen ahead of him come from the Bears and Packers.

  15. Southendzone says:

The highlight of yesterday’s game had to be Harbaugh freaking out like a giant fat-faced baby when they didn’t overturn the challenge on that Harry Douglas catch.

I found it online for any of you that missed it yesterday

  16. HaHa, that was too much. Harbaugh is such a jerk! I love to hate him! :-)

  17. letsworkitout says:

“love to hate” pretty much sums up the attitude problems here. I’ve had season tickets @ the Kingdome, Husky Stadium, and Quest/Seahawk stadium/Clink. It is foolish to think that only fans from certain cities are asses. There are plenty here, I’ve seen them at the games and on these boards. In fact, I would say this board is fairly negative in a one sided way. Most here stomp and scream if something doesn’t go their way, as if it is a freaking conspiracy. They act just like the person they try to make fun of. Yes, you act just like Harbaugh with your snippy, hateful, and arrogant remarks. Look in the mirror first.

  18. princeaden says:

    Thanks Eric :)

  19. You know what, letsworkitout, you’ve obviously never read any of my posts. I don’t like Harbaugh…but I don’t hate anyone. I’m with my Seahawk brothers and sisters here and I feel comfortable enough to say that and know it will be taken tongue in cheek by the faithful here.

    Go away troll.

  20. letsworkitout says:

I wasn’t addressing any single person.

  21. sherminator says:

I’ll watch the game, but root for both to lose. I won’t be reading or watching any of the pre-game hype. Just paying attention to Hawk news. Long two weeks.

  22. Palerydr says:

Harbaugh bowl a bore… Yup sure will be. Gonna be a tough 2 weeks cuz I also plan to not watch or read about this SB as much as possible.

  23. Maybe letsworkitout wasn’t held enough when he was a baby? Just sayin…..

  24. sfseahawkfan says:

If Jim Harbaugh looked in the mirror, he’d wonder how Jon Gruden got in there. The guy is Chuckie II on the sidelines…

  25. edstang45 says:

sorry if this offends anyone but the harbaughbowl is not a bore but one of the brothers is a pig!!!! And I won’t come out and say which one as I would never wish to offend any 4th and 9ers trolls…..also I like Ham!!

  26. edstang45 says:

Also letsworkitout, I love the passion and different opinions of my brother seahawk fans here. The Seahawks are a passionate and emotional subject here …so bring on the emotion and the passion for and about the Hawks all others go to your teams blog if you are offended or don’t like the dicussions…..Go Hawks….

  27. letsworkitout says:

Obviously you didn’t read my post in its entirety.
