According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley interviewed for the San Diego Chargers head coaching job on Thursday.

I’m assuming that interview took place in Seattle, because Bradley was at practice on Thursday, talking with reporters after Seattle’s workout.

The report is a bit of a surprise because Bradley was thought to be in the running for the head coaching job in Philadelphia. The Eagles requested permission from the Seahawks to interview Bradley, but that interview session was expected to take place at the conclusion of Seattle’s season.

Here’s what Bradley had to say about teams interested in him as a head coach on Thursday.

“It’s flattering,” he said. “And I know people talk about our entire focus is on Atlanta, and it really is. I mean it’s so important to us. We’ve worked so hard to get to this point and our whole message to the team is just keep raising the bar, keep getting better and better every week. They’re talking that and we’re talking that so it’s easy to stay focused on it.

“It’s flattering, like you’ve all heard before, but really our entire focus is on Atlanta and trying to do everything we can to get one step closer.”

  1. I don’t like any coach interviewing during the season.
    Talk about loosing focus.
How can you stay focussed if your interviewing for someone else and interviewing takes time which is in short supply with a road game.
We need 100% on the ball focus right now
Interview when its over not before

  2. Good for him. We’ll miss him big-time if he goes, but good for him.

    Now… Back to Work!!!!!!
    Go Seahawks!!!!
