I think people are overreacting about Moffitt. The guy had a knee injury and those are slower to heal for some people. Adrian Peterson returning to 100% in the year after knee surgery is not normal, its a bizarre exception to the rule. Carpenter had knee surgery, rehabbed quickly, but ended up back on IR because he's not really healed. Moffitt isn't healed either.

Maybe Moffitt didn't do a great job with his rehab, or maybe his flesh just did not respond as fast as one would like. He lost conditioning during his rehab and never got it back. That's normal for anybody the year after knee surgery. Give the dude's knee a chance to recover.

STTBM - "Sweezy isnt performing as well as Lem did last year at G" ?? Lemuel has several years of training at pass protection that Sweezy never had. Mentally, Lem is more prepared than Sweezy, but watch those two guys run block. There is no comparison. Sweezy is quickly becoming the best run blocker on this team. That said, he's inexperienced and raw so of course he'll get gamed and beat by D linemen sometimes. If Lem was starting over Sweezy, our run game would take a step backward. I think Sweezy will be starting next year, I hope at LG.

I am in disbelief that Moffitt has been demoted to a healthy scratch. Unbelievable. This is a bust of pretty epic proportions. Cable was supposed to be our savior who could take lower-round sow's ears and make a toughguy line out of them. Instead, he arrogantly assumed he could turn a sows ear who projected as a G in the NFL and make him a RT--which utterly failed. The same year, he spent a third round pick on a guy who has been demoted off the active roster for gameday, replaced by a rookie who never played O-line, not since Pop Warner.

Its a good story that Sweezy can hold his own about half the time, but the kid isnt ready to start in the NFL, and I think thats obvious. Meanwhile, Moffitt looks like an out of shape pansy and isnt even playing.

Am I the only one who's pissed we have to watch Sweezy flounder around and block the wrong dude--or no one at all--or get bullrushed to death--while Lem JeanPierre rots on the bench?! I thought Lem did well at G when he played last year, and I think it sucks they play Sweezy over him. For chissakes, get someone else some practice time at C so Lem can be used at G.!

Sure, Cable knows more than us, but its pretty obvious Sweezy isnt performing as well as Lem did last year at G. So what the hell?

Just like i understand why they are starting Tru at nickel instead of Lane or Maxwell, for the same reason I think Lem should be playing and Sweezy watching. And Lem is a better G than Tru a nickel back, at least in my opinion.

HawkfaninMT- I see your point about Breno. It's not like Sweezy is playing bad every game either. He had a good game against the 49ers. It's got to be frustrating for the coaches that one cannot step up and consistently play well.
Perhaps if they could put Moffits Brain in Sweezys body? We could call him Moffinsweezy.

@Georgia: I think the difference between the Sweezy situation and Giac is that people think Moffitt is more capable than Sweezy and so he should be starting. While Giac had a poor game against one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, there is not another player healthy that is as viable an option as Giac. Just my take on the situation.

In either case, I would not be surprised to see some more roster churn with regards to Moffitt and the Draft this coming offseason.

If we're going to get any value from Carpenter and Moffitt, they have to come to camp ready to bust their asses. At least provide us with depth. If i took millions of dollars that would be enough incentive to show up in shape. Where is the hunger?

It wasn't just Sweezy that had trouble with the Rams. Breno struggled and I don't hear anyone calling for him to be replaced.
Let's give the Rams some credit too. They are a very talented defensive team that had a chip on their shoulders. They didn't get one player picked for the Pro Bowl, and had to hear all week how they had little chance to beat the Seahawks, even with them having the best record in the NFC west division.
Remember Long saying that the Rams looked at the Seahawk game as their SuperBowl?

Is it really fair to say the coaches would take a chance on losing a playoff game just to develope a player over another that is overall better now?
Who Knows all their reasons for starting Sweezy and sitting Moffitt?

What would happen if they do start moffitt and he runs out of gas by the 4th qtr when the game is on the line? Throw Sweezy back in? I'm sure they have thought of many ways to better the RG play, but what can they do when a player just won't stay in good shape?

Mabey next year they will find the next DeCastro in Sweezy, Moffitt, or whoever.

Found this on the Washington Post- there will be blood!

"Barry Cofield sees mirror image of Redskins in Seahawks"

Not really.

Seattle fans as well as the organization are arrogant twits.

Redskins fans are some of the best in the country and we get to cheer for the classiest players in the NFL.

This is the NFL not college. Running the score up back to back weeks to 50 doesn't impress me. Seattle will learn that on Sunday.
