"Are you mad bro?"

Well, I think that may be one of the more satisfying wins for Seahawks fans in quite some time … I’m guessing since about 2005.

The Seahawks welcomed the 49ers into CenturyLink and proceeded beat them up and down the field. Russell Wilson was Russell Wilson. Richard Sherman was Richard Sherman and the Seahawks are basically in the playoffs.

Let’s get to it ….

1. How surprised were you by the result?

2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win?

3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care?

4. Game ball goes to …

5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose?

6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week?

7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs?

8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started?

  1. Did you see Deon Butler when did he rejoin the team

  2. Can`t wait for next week – hoping Cardinals beat 49ers, Vikings beat packers and we can beat the Rams!

  3. IdahoHawk says:

I don’t care. They don’t care. They are a solid team

  4. BeerDrinkingFool says:

I loved that they actually showed some Okung one-on-one footage. He was awesome.

  5. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

    1. How surprised were you by the result?
quite a bit expected a closer game than this

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win?
    blow out

    3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care?
    most likely not

    4. Game ball goes to
    …Kam he set the tone

    5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose?
    lynch

    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week? any given sunday

    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs?
    skins

    8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started? not many

great win and a hell of a statement even if at home

  6. CDHawkFan says:

Deon was signed 2 weeks ago and did not play vs Bills.

  7. sherminator says:

1 I was really surprised that they won so big, but not that they won. The 12th man really makes a difference

2 the most impressive aspect was the physical domination. The Whiners quit by the middle of the the 3rd

3 could not care less what the nation outside of South Alaska thinks

4 game ball goes to the coaching staff for having the team perfectly prepared

5 tackle Marshawn – if you miss it doesn’t hurt

6 don’t think Zona can pull it off, but I gonna be a fan of theirs anyway

7 don’t want to see anybody the 1st week, but other than that, the East division winner

8 I thought they could make a wild card, but I didn’t think they would be near as good as they are. They are playing well enough right now to win it all

  8. SnakePlisskenBV says:

    So glorious…

  9. Sure would be sweet if them pesky cardinals could remember how to be pesky as well as how to play football next week. I’d love to play a part as a member of the 12th Man with a home playoff game. Well done by all the fans out there tonight. Let’s keep up this roll, it’s been so much fun watching them grow by leaps and bounds in this second half of the season.

  10. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

Harbaugh is a whining little B****,lol

  11. Surprised? No, not completely. Somewhat surprised the defense played as well as they did. I would give the game ball to Bryant for the FG block and to the entire defense for an outstanding game. And maybe the coaching staff for an excelent game plan.

  12. montanamike2 says:

    What an awsome game!
    150 points in 3 games.
That hit on Vernon Davis by Chancellor took him out, at the end of the game Moss let one go because he didn’t want to take the hit.
Loved seeing Kaep near tears as the game ended.

  13. It warmed the cockles to see the home town boys put a great thumping on the #1 ranked 49’ers on the national stage.

It was a complete victory – offense, defense, and special teams all played darn near perfect games. Very satisfying win.

Game ball should go to Wilson and Sherm. It will be a damned shame if Sherm is deprived of further play and the pro-bowl because of this PED thing.

  14. I am going to bed tonight slightly drunk, and VERY happy. I just knew we were going to show up big and win this game. Happy Holidays, Seahawks fans!!

  15. Correction: NOT slightly drunk.

SCREW YOU Harbaugh. Happy Birthday. Enjoy the quiet bus ride back home, you douchenozzle.

  16. JazBadAzz says:

Santa came early, and I know we can beat anyone in the league as long as the Oline balls out and Russel takes care of the ball! The defense came to play! They all had fire in their eyes! Kam, KJ, Sherm gameballs on D. Dougie, Dangeruss, and Okung on offense!

  17. dirtbiker_joey says:

Serious props to Jeremy Lane, stepping up from the #5 CB and playing like he belongs!

  18. about as good as it gets – – a huge, beatdown of a win against a team with the douchiest, whiniest coach in the league. God it feels good.

Beat them in every way – outphysicaled them, outran them, everything.

Wilson is running with so much more confidence and purpose now than he did earlier in the year, it changes everything. He is much quicker and more elusive than I realized. You can tell his feet both wear down and demoralize their D-line. And when you have a healthy run game on top of that, that makes for a pretty unstoppable offense. 11-13 on 3rd down conversions against the #1 defense in the league? Unbelievable.

All credit to Carroll and Schneider, they inherited virtually nothing except for an awesome homefield advantage, and they have built us into a title contender.

  19. 1. How surprised were you by the result? VERY – I thought we “should” win – but this score was NOT what I thought would happen

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win? The overall score!! Hand how totally dominating we were for MOST of the game, in all 3 phases of the game.

    3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care?

Oh hell yes!!! If we don’t have at least 2 prime time games next year it will be a travesty – the Home games have given them very good ratings!!

    4. Game ball goes to … Oh geez – soo many, but I think Kam ( to lighten the spirits when his fine comes on Tuesday for the hit on Davis) – I thought it was clean but you know the commish is going to levy any fine he can this week, I am sure he is Pissed about south alaska getting in the news AND Sherman having the balls to challenge the league office

    5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose? Lynch – for the same reasons stated above.

    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week? There is always a way in the NFL – Any given Sunday. But SF is still a very good team and has not lost 2 games in a row all season long

    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs? Anyone but SF or GB in round 1 – Don’t care after that!! They have pay – back on the mind, but would love to ruin their playoffs after the 2nd game.

    8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started? I flipped flopped from 8-8 to 11-5 all pre-season long. Lost some hope after the Ari and STL losses.

  20. guywhothinksheknowsitall says:

    1. How surprised were you by the result?
I did not expect it at all but after the last 2 weeks this was really not surprising.

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win?
The running game was fantastic tonight. I thought they could have done even better if they has run the ball more.

    3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care?
The Seahawks had a ton of national respect before this game, more than I have ever seen out of any Seahawks team.

    4. Game ball goes to …
RW3 4 more TDs, 25 passing TDs for the season and just 1 behind Peyton Manning’s rookie record. Never thought I would be able to discuss the possibility of a Seahawks QB doing something even Peyton Manning didn’t do.

    5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose?
I would much rather curl up into a ball and let Lynch hop over me. I wouldn’t go near Kam.

    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week?
They went against us tired after running so many plays against NE last week, now they are beat up and injured. AZ has a chance. Would love to see Minn take down Green Bay, that would put us in position to get a 1st round bye with a victory over the Rams.

    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs?
    Anybody but the Packers.

    8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started?
I predicted 10 to 11 wins and division champs.

  21. sluggo42 says:

No need to say anything really, we kicked their tails.
I believe I predicted us to go 8-0 in the second half, not many followed my lead…. We nearly did.

    Sherman game ball
I would vomit in my pants at the prospect of facing either of those two monsters… Quite sure it would be a fatal episode for me.

I think the whole world is scared to play us…

  22. DanielleMND says:

    Best Christmas present ever!

So, is anyone out there still calling for Flynn to start? :D

Those losses in Detroit and Miami really hurt now, though. We’d have a division championship and a first round bye. Oh, well.

  23. Did you guys hear Sherman after the game? “Happy birthday, Coach Harbaugh, hope you enjoyed it!”

    LOL.

  24. Okay – just watching the game for the first time.

I think there will probably a number of fines leveled for this game.

Kam on Davis – I think it was legal but the office won’t
The hit on Tate in the 2nd quarter when he was getting pile drivered to the ground

  25. RW is the real deal – his composure is remarkable. Looked like he could have kept the ball and ran more but why, given the score?

The entire team is playing with great confidence – not seen since the super bowl team. I would take RW and the Beast now over Hasselbeck and Alexander in the SB year.

The one so-so unit on the team is the OL and they will simply get better.

Clearly RW is rookie of the year, but I think East Coast bias will work against him.

  26. Game ball goes to Coach. He just went positive on the W-L during his tenure…and more Ws are on the way.

    Great game!!!! WooHoo!!!! Go SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!

  27. DanielleMND says:

The OL looked good. Sweezy (is Moffitt injured again?) destroyed Willis on one play.

  28. Danielle – nobody has for weeks – let it go!!!!!! the ACIB haters are as bad as ACIB!!!

the losses to Ari, STL, Miami, Det are all huge!!! If you had just one of those 3 you are looking at the #2 seed – win 2 of them and it is locked up with this win!!

  29. So who do you all think enjoyed humiliating Harbaugh more? PC, Bauldwin, or Sherman? W. Moon said the Stanford guys are giving him the business tonight.

I really want RDub to take the rookie td record from Manning!

RDub sounds like he’s more relaxed and enjoying this more than other games. I bet this win will give this team as much confidence as RDub always has.

  30. montanamike2 says:

Next year we’ll be running out of the gates.

  31. DanielleMND says:

And, unless my math is wonky, RW3 needs one more TD pass to tie Peyton Manning’s rookie record.

  32. among other things – Okung just dominated Aldon Smith tonight. I can’t recall a significant pressure from the guy. I suppose the Niners did miss Justin Smith in a big way — but still, when you can hold down the best speed rusher in the league, w/no help, for an entire game, that says a lot for a LT’s athleticism.

  33. That was literally one of the best football clinics I have ever been so luck to have witnessed. The last game at the CLINK (Qwest) that can even compare was the win against New Orleans. The noise and the atmosphere in the stadium was at a level well beyond that game. I have no voice left, and for good reason. At one point after having fasted for two quarters (on beer :) I required food to continue my screaming. I ate a Papa John’s slice and was holding the empty box while me and the rest of the crowd lost our minds in the third quarter. It was so loud that the empty box literally floated from the vibrations in between my fingers! What a game, I was lucky to have been there. Go Hawks!!!

  34. montanamike2 says:

So he needs 2-3 TD’s for the record against the Rams, imagine his stats if he didn’t get pulled in the second half of both those blow outs?

  35. Carroll has been the Seahawks version of Bill Belechick but running that 3 way QB competition killed the Offense early on and the chance for a division title and or bye.

Who starts a Rookie QB without naming them the starter early in training camp?

  36. That Danny ONeal story about RDub in this mornings links was a must read!

I hope he runs for president some day.

I think when they put his bust in the hall of fame they should build a stand for it that’s a few inches shorter than all the others just to rub it in!

  37. SeahawkInKorea says:

how surprised? not at all. if u check my comments on previous articles, u’d see that i was the only one that predicted blow-out. my prediction? 40-17. so shoot me, i was off.

  38. DanielleMND says:

“Danielle – nobody has for weeks – let it go!!!!!!”

Oh, did you miss the smiley at the end of what I said? I wasn’t being deadly serious, you know.

  39. http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/0ap2000000114646/Who-has-the-edge-Colin-Kaepernick-or-Seahawks-D

Willie – says that Kap had the advantage due to beating the NE 27th ranked defense, I wish we could send him some crow to eat!!

  40. 1. I expected them to win so I’m not surprised. However, I expected it to be close and never thought we’d blow them out like that.

    2. Outmuscling a bully.

    3. Don’t care.

    4. Cam and Sherman.

    5. I would rather try to tackle Lynch simply because then I’d whiff and wouldn’t have to deal with any contact. Chancellor would catch me.

    6. Unfortunately, no.

    7. Washington. It’d be fun to see the two best rookie QBs in the NFC go at it.

    8. I expected the play-offs but I thought it would be, in part, because of Flynn. I didn’t expect a rookie to improve this much throughout the season. Wow.

  41. I haven’t heard anybody calling the Seahawks “soft” lately.

But we’re loosing our edge. We peaked 2 weeks ago and have scored 8 points less each week ever since!

  42. DanielleMND says:

I expected a close game that Seattle would win with a late field goal, but I’ll certainly take a 29 point winning margin. :D

  43. Dear, NFL please do not give Russel Wilson rookie of the year. He needs even more motivation for the years to come. His qbr was 97.4 out of 100 against the 2nd best d in leauge so just give the award to Andrew Luck or Rg3. Thanks P.s. The best d in NFL is the one he goes against every week in practice.

  44. HaHa, Flynn would have scored 5 td’s…
    RW3, ROY!! love the midget.

We bent them over our knee and spanked them!
    Very kool. Merry Christmas everybody..

Hardbra was a deer in headlights during the post game press conference.

  45. I dare anyone to try and name one team in the world that could have beat the Seahawks tonight.

  46. So now we just have to wait to see if we are the 2,3 or 5 seed!!

  47. GeorgiaHawk says:

    He he, He he!

  48. 1. My prediction was 38-10 but that was a hunch. Pleasantly surprised Hawks fan here.

    2. The 9ers made some mistakes but this wasn’t like the AZ or Buffalo games where the other team shot themselves in the foot. This was domination of a very good team in all aspects of the game.

    3. I love these guys and they deserve more respect, which they will be getting.

    4. Big Red with the block and final swing of momentum.

    5. I’ll try to take on the Beast. I don’t know how many saw it but Kam broke a facemask tonight with his shoulder.

    6. Hopefully this loss is soul crushing for SF and they lay an egg next weekend. I can see it happening.

    7. Bring back GB!! I’m tired of Packers fans crying about replacement refs. Here or there I don’t care. Come at us bro!!

    8. I did! 10-6 was my prediction.

  49. I called a 40-17 win on a podcast that i do. (only 2 pts off)
About 4 days ago here i said the Hawks by 20..
So kool to be (somewhat) right once in my life..

  50. Why is national respect even brought up? This team has been getting props from every media outlet there is the last few weeks, they are the sexy darkhorse “hot team” Superbowl contendor. Are you even paying attention?

Also, glad we coud ruin Harbaugh’s bday.

  51. Let’s get to it ….

    1. How surprised were you by the result?
I expected a Hawks win, but not quite this dominating.

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win?
We destroyed SF. We may very well be playing the best football in the NFL the last few weeks.

    3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care?
Some; I care only because it may give RW a better shot at roty.
    4. Game ball goes to …
    Wilson & Sherman
    5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose?
    LOL!
    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week?
Unlikely, AZ sucks (though they beat us early in the year…………)
    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs?
    Unsure
    8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started?
    To be honest, not me.

  52. Cant wait for post game interviews

  53. Definitely surprised, but had a feeling the hawks would play well and win.

Like others have said, the stadium had a crazy feeling today…that feeling that anything can happen. It was fun to be a part of that. It was louder than i have heard it in a long long time, and it obviously was a factor…how many TO’s did they have to call because kap didn’t know wtf to do. AMAZING night. Great game from the Hawks. Let’s go 1-0 next week

  54. csungrad says:

    1. How surprised were you by the result? 42-13 I did not see coming. A win, yes. But not like this.

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win? The run game.

    3. Will this performance on Sunday night football against the Niners get the Seahawks any more national respect? Do you care? No. and no self- respecting 12 cares what the national media thinks.

    4. Game ball goes to … Russ.

    5. You could either try and tackle Marshawn Lynch or get tackled by Kam Chancellor — Which do you choose? I’ll “try” and tackle Lynch. Kam would end me.

    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week? Sadly, no. Arizona is just awful. And ready to golf.

    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs? Packers. Put that MNF game to bed by punching that group in the collective mouth.

    8. Who said this was a playoff team before the season started? Absolutely nobody at ESPN. Or Fox. Or any other national outlet.

Cannot wait to see this team run right through the rest of the NFC!

    SEAHAWKS!

  55. finman22 says:

One thing to keep in mind- RW3 is a rookie. How much better is he going to be next year or in two? Ladies and gentleman, you are looking at the quarterback that is going to finally bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Seattle and the first Super Bowl championship in franchise history. Best part- the Stealers lost today and got eliminated from playoff contention.

  56. What was it, 4th and 17? Late in the game with the game out of reach and Harbaugh calls a pass into the endzone? Dude, that’s running up the score! Dude, What’s your deal?????

  57. crunchmeister says:

LMAO, yeah, you got your butts kicked alright

    http://youtu.be/UUinGB0A8Jg

  58. MoSeahawk12 says:

I posted this to Lame Tony Cornholer. I feel the need to send my love every week. You should make sure he gets extra fan mail from Seahawks fans.
“Hey smart Tony….maybe the 49ers should have broken Wilson’s arm as he threw four TDs against them. He didn’t need to run as he was a skilled surgeon against the #1 defense in the NFL. But you wouldn’t know anything about being #1. You are really just a loud pile of #2. Break a leg jerk! Or find some duct tape for your mouth. ”

    http://www.facebook.com/tony.kornheiser

  59. thursday says:

SHER-MAN! He was the mannnnnn today wow. I was there and Kap srsly hardly looked in his direction. God I hope we have him for the playoffs

  60. 1. Not really, honestly. Justin Smith is an integral part of S.F.’s defense. He means that much to them, maybe even more than not having Willis in their line up.

    2. Another win where Seattle basically dominated their opponent in all three phases of the game, from start to finish.

    3. There’s little doubt that this win won’t get them more national attention.

    4. Russell Wilson.

    5. Getting trampled by Marshawn Lynch could be bad, but Kam Chancellor will murder you. I’ve never seen Vernon Davis hit that hard, ever.

    6. There is a better than average chance that Arizona beats S.F., I think, depending on who plays or doesn’t. This was a demoralizing loss. V.D. may not play next week, and we can probably assume that Manningham is done for the year. Another week w/out Justin Smith means trouble for that front.

    7. The real question is “who wants to see the Seahawks in the playoffs”. Answer: nobody. This Seahawks team is way too hot right now. I am almost worried about getting a bye by virtue of winning the div. Don’t want this momentum to end.

    8. Not me.

  61. bbnate420 says:

Thanks, Judah. Nice. I am trying to stay grounded, but the more stories like that I read, for a good writer, the harder it is. I’m more psyched about the Hawks than I have been since 2005.

  62. Who’s a big Bryan Hoyer fan?

  63. Southendzone says:

    1. How surprised were you by the result? VERY! Expected a close tough game in the 24/23 range

    2. What was the most impressive aspect of this win? No question.

    6. The Niners are beat up, is there anyway Arizona pulls off the stunner next week? Was starting to think maybe it could happen, then remembered 2 words: RYAN LINDLEY. I put the AZ chances at 4%

    7. Who do you want to see in the playoffs? Dallas, in week 2 coming to C-Link after a miracle happens and we get the 2 seed (if this is even possible).

  64. bbnate420 says:

Hoyer? Is he the new M’s RF?

  65. bbnate420 says:

Hoyer? Is that the M’s new OF?

  66. bbnate420 says:

Hoyer? Is that the new M’s OF?

  67. Cardinals starting QB next week.

  68. montanamike2 says:

I haven’t slept that well all of 2012, i think i’ll be sleeping better in 2013. I expected a win but was hoping for a blowout, i thought we’d grind out a win. Gore was a non factor and beast was like a lion, a pissed off lion. Wilson lost those first few games by a dropped ball, we were that close. Now we aren’t even close to losing over a drop.
I hope we don’t get Carey to ref us in the playoffs or we get screwed over again. It feels good to have clinched a spot with a game remaining, next week will be brutal for the Rams, i’d be very worried if i were them. Still think that Kornholer is an ass and deserves a punch in the head. What a great season we have a very bright future.

  69. GeorgiaHawk says:

Great to see Baldwin and Sherman light it up against their old coach. And great to see Sweezy deservingly get more playing time.

This years outstanding draft has really helped put this team over the top of late.

  70. montanamike2 says:

No matter the East coast bias, we know who is ROY.

  71. GeorgiaHawk says:

And how about Wilson? He is everything and more of what many of us thought he could be since the start of camp. Imagine if he didn’t get that chance to compete, or if he had gotten drafted by Washington to be RG3s career backup.
The steal of the draft is all he turned out to be.

  72. GeorgiaHawk says:

No hot springs around here montanamike2 so I think it’s time to go re- watch the game sober. Lol.

  73. Seahawks22360 says:

Me personally, I would rather the 3 or 5 seed. I don’t think we can afford to have a bye. Not with our momentum going the way it is.

  74. Southendzone says:

For anyone that hasn’t seen this, it is AWESOME! I think it’s the NBC monday night promo for yesterday’s game, I stumbled across it this morning watching the D-Bag harbaugh style video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qsP_P-0F2g

  75. love it southendzone . . . grown man getting chills from a game preview video here.

still can’t quite believe what happened last night. feels real good.

  76. Ewalters7354 says:

How about Bobby Wagner?! That guy has rare speed at that position and is a absolute beast! I really like Jeremy Lane. That guy is feisty and in your face.Love how he is such a physical player even as skinny as he is lol

  77. Georgia – Yes. He’s turned out to be the steal of the draft, just as Sherman was the year before. Indy and Washington have good ones too, but they were supposed to be based on their draft position. I think people are going to talk about this QB class the way they talk about the class of ’83.

  78. SandpointHawk says:

    Southendzone…that was great, thanks.

Anyone have a link to the Harbaugh after game interview?

  79. Dukeshire says:

Yes, Wagner played so well last night. In fact as a unit, I’d say that was the LBs best game of the season.

Man, that was just incredible last night. They played with such speed and intensity.

  80. here’s a question – right now, today, how many qb’s are there in the NFL that you would trade Wilson for?

    Here’s the list of options:

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/quarterbackRating/year/2012/seasontype/2

Given age, experience, abilities, it’s pretty hard to find many after the first few.

  81. Honestly, none. This team would not function well for a majority of the ‘pocket’ QBs on that list. I’d give them maybe two games max before they were riding the bench with a concussion. I know this might sound crazy but I don’t think Luck or RGIII (yet) possess the poise, maturity or command that RW already garners. To add, RW has a mental connection with the entire team that transcends athletism and conveys a trust and belief in him by every teammate displays. They will all go that extra mile, give 110% because it’s RW. I could go on and on about the age thing and the ‘IT’ factor but why, we all know HE is THAT GOOD. No trade!

  82. In preseason I put $300 on the Hawks to take the West and $50 on them winning the Superbowl. That Rams collapse for the tie the other week killed me. Ties always seem to suck. They just screw everything up! Would be nice if I could win both bets but if I had to choose one it would be the Superbowl!

Confession – when I made those bets I thought Flynn would be the starter.

So count me as one who believed in the playoffs!
