The Seattle Seahawks had a few shakeups on the inactive list for today’s game against the New York Jets.
Defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, who came into the game listed as questionable because of a groin injury, will be inactive for today’s game. Rookie Greg Scruggs also is inactive because of an oblique strain. Scruggs was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report.
With those two guys down, rookie fourth round draft choice defensive tackle Jaye Howard will be active for his first game of the year.
Defensive back Walter Thurmond, recently brought up from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, will have to wait another two weeks to play in his first game, as he is inactive for today.
As Seattle head coach Pete Carroll told us on Friday, outside linebacker K.J. Wright and offensive lineman James Carpenter have been ruled out of today’s game because of concussions.
Mike Morgan will start at outside linebacker for Wright, and John Moffitt will start for a second straight week at left guard for Carpenter.
Here’s the full list.

Yeah, I would expect the Jets to pound it up the middle (although that’s what they do regardless).

I’m actually nervous for this game…people are over looking the fact when a dog is against the wall they fight, and that’s exactly what the jets are!

Jaz – I too believe people are underestimating how hard the Jets play. They play a very similar style to Seattle on offense, with the exception that they run out far more personnel groupings than the ‘Hawks. Seattle may blow them out, but I will not be surprised if they end up in a real dog fight, as you mentioned.

Just look at what the Titans are doing today. The sign of a good team is that they can put a desperate team away.
Hopefully we take that next step today.

The phrase ‘on any given Sunday’ is actually true – even though the Jets are down, they will show up and want to win. Its important to get up early and squelch any fight they may have in them.

Interesting to see what Jaye Howard brings to the game.

Look at what the Bengals are doing to NYG….. and Buffalo is showing a good fight to New England. On any given Sunday…..
