The Seattle Seahawks received some good news today.

Second-year receiver Doug Baldwin practiced on a limited basis this afternoon.

Baldwin missed last week’s game with a high-ankle sprain, and Seattle head coach Pete Carroll initially said that Baldwin would be a long shot to make it back this week. However, the fact that Baldwin practiced today could be a good sign that the Stanford product will be available for the Minnesota game on Sunday.

Seattle currently only has four healthy receivers on the active roster.

Offensive guard John Moffitt (knee) and cornerback Byron Maxwell (hamstring) also were limited participants in practice today.

Receiver Braylon Edwards (knee) and defensive tackle Jason Jones (ankle) did not practice.

And running back Marshawn Lynch (back) was a full participant.

For Minnesota, tight end John Carlson (concussion) and linebacker Tyrone McKenzie (not injury related) did not practice.

Safety Mistral Raymond (ankle), cornerback Antoine Winfield (knee), receiver Percy Harvin (hamstring) and running back Adrian Peterson (ankle) were limited participants.

Defensive tackle Fred Evans (knee), defensive tackle Letroy Guion (ribs), linebacker Erin Henderson (elbow), punter Chris Kluwe (knee) and quarterback Christian Ponder (knee) were full participants.

Hope Moffit makes it back in some compacity this week.He is a key part on this o-line.

Braylon Edwards worries me and I personally see him getting cut in the near future. He had the same problem last year with thr niners.Too bad because I really like him.

  2. Is Jason Jones looking like he’ll be back playing on Sunday?

  3. Ewalters7354 says:

pdway, from what I hear,Carroll is not optimistic about Jones returning this week.

  4. GeorgiaHawk says:

Good to here Baldwin could be back soon. Moffit? hype, imo! Show us your worth without performance enhancing drugs can you? Perhaps then you could be a good back up.

  5. GeorgiaHawk says:

    “hear”

  6. Seahawks2620 says:

One reason I am excited to see Kearse is the fact that he was a phenomenal route runner in college and looked solid in the minimal pre season action that he saw. It will be refreshing seeing someone with good route running ability, unlike a certain starting split end on our team.

  7. GeorgiaHawk says:

    Curse is a qbs nightmare!!!!

  8. GeorgiaHawk says:

Curse is Koren Robinson with out the talent.

    “Drop city here we come.”

  9. Seahawks2620 says:

I acknowledged that kearse had quite a few crucial drops while at UW, however I am still excited to see a fresh face out there. He is a great route runner, drops or not. Anything can happen. No one expected for Baldwin to emerge like he did. Kearse has some talent. It’s just the mental lapses which have hindered him.

  10. ryanryan says:

the #3 receiver barely gets used by bevell, let alone #4…if he’s willing to run down the field and tackle people, by all means – sign the kid and see if he can do something in the regular season. personally i like both he and charly martin – i think they should get a crack at some playing time. this is carroll’s wet dream…letting the young guys earn their stripes in live action.

i say go for it – worst case they learn that they need to get a few NEW young guys next year if they can’t hack it. martin and kearse have worked hard all offseason and on the practice squad – let them play.

  11. Dukeshire says:

Moffitt returning will be huge. The difference in this line’s performance with him out vs in is night and day. They have so many more inside running plays they can run with him because he can pull, he can get to the second level, and seal inside lanes.

On defense, last week showed how important Jones is. While Branch played well, Jones’ gets pressure from the inside. That said, 3-tech remains a position of need for this d line. Seattle really needs a difference maker there. Someone to pair with Mebane before he’s past his peak.

  12. GeorgiaHawk says:

“I bought the Direct ticket just to see the Seahawks”
    “Kearse City, here we come”
“You know it’s not very cherry, it’s an oldie but a goodie”
    “Kearse City, here we come”
“Well, he aint got good hands or speed you know”
“But perhaps he will help get us where we wanna go”

“And we’re goin’ to Kearse City, ’cause it’s two to one”
“You know we’re goin’ to Kearse City, gonna have some fun”
“You know we’re goin’ to Kearse City, ’cause it’s two to one”
You know we’re goin’ to Kearse City, gonna have some fun, now
    “Two DBs for every WR”

“You know we never roll the streets up ’cause there’s always somethin’ goin'”
    “Kearse City, here we come”
“You know they’re either out Kearsen or you have a party growin”
    “Kearse City, here we come”
“Yeah, and there’s two swingin’ honeys for every guy”
“And all Dukeshire’s gotta do is just wink his eye”

  13. GeorgiaHawk says:

    “Moffitt returning will be huge.”

Yes huge for the oposition getting to our qb!

Time will tell with Moffbutt, however hopefully, , ( and that’s a huge lazy ass butt ) he will become a serviceable o-linemam.

  14. With Kearse I will be willing to bet he will get alot of love on this blog only because he is a Husky. His history even at UW was big plays and big drops, he has to prove he can play consistent. We already have Tate need I say more.
Our pass rush will be much better this weekend with or without Jones we are at Home. Go hawks

  15. Dukeshire says:

“Serviceable”? Hopefully you mean healthy, that is. lol. When healthy, he’s as solid as they come. He has a very promising future, again, presuming can get and remain healthy.

  16. GeorgiaHawk says:

Dukeshire- I’m hard, ( and I don’t mean that in a you know what way ) on the players that I really like on this team. Moffitt and Carpenter are two of my favorite young players. I hope these two become everything that all their hype has brought them.

  17. Dukeshire says:

Oh man, lol. Thanks for clarifying… I understand that. I hope they become that too.

  18. Wow that song, as usual, was terrible. “moffbutt”? Wow.

this o line will have chemistry… Week 14. When the team is out of playoff contention. Oh well, might as well save that spot for a team that could win the super bowl.

  19. GeorgiaHawk says:

Dukeshire-I will be out there in May, hope to see you and a frosty brew!

  20. sluggo42 says:

    77 and RD Paulsbo –
Either of you guys in your late 50’s, My cousins all grew up in Paulsbo, and I went over there all the time.

  21. GeorgiaHawk says:

RADEoN- Give me a break, lol. If I could get you to move out of the Pittsburgh, than perhaps we can get on some kind of commin ground. Ether way you are always welcome to come down to Georgia.

  22. Dukeshire says:

    GeorgiaHawk – I can’t wait. First round’s on me.

  23. sluggo42 says:

I doubt Baldwin gets to play, High ankles are brutal, 4-6 weeks. Maybe 3 if he is a real fast healer, and if it isn’t too severely torn up.

I’m very anxious to see what Kearse can bring. I hope he just catches the ball if it comes his way. WR’s can really burst upon the scene quickly, I hope he is one.

  24. GeorgiaHawk says:

Dukeshire- very much looking forward to it, and BTW I may be taking some bronze metal statues your way from s Dakota next year I think. Either way I think I will be in your neck of the woods in spring next year.

  25. bbnate420 says:

Georgia’s spittin that fiya tonight. Smokin Moffitt and Kearse.

Moffitt was suspended because he didn’t get pre-approval from the league for his Adderall. Probably stupid, but not a performance enhancing violation really. If he has ADD or ADHD, the Adderall just speeds up a part of his brain that is working more slowly than normal and helps in concentration. It wouldn’t give his extra energy. Even if he didn’t, Adderall is a low grade amphetamine and wouldn’t enhance his performance much on the field. Get off his nuts.

  26. SandpointHawk says:

Thanks bbnate420, you saved me some keyboarding….

  27. Say what you want about Jermaine, the guy could ALWAYS get open & was productive.

  28. Wow, I finally agree with bbnate420. That whole adderall thing was absurd.

    Cool interview with Carroll, btw.

  29. sluggo42 says:

Wow, I finally agree with bbnate420. That whole adderall thing was absur

“Can’t we all just get along”

    cool…

  30. rramstad says:

I suspect you can get more enhanced athletic performance from six double shots of espresso administered 20 minutes before kickoff than you can get from Adderall…

  31. Sluggo42, sorry, I don’t foresee myself ever agreeing with an oppositional head case like yourself.

  32. I for one am not a Husky fan. I do however, really like Jermaine Kearse. He didnt drop passes in the preseason (I remember only one) and took advantage of his limited snaps to make plays.

I am rooting for him hard, because he’s the anti-Tate: a very good route runner who just needs to focus on not dropping passes–and so far he has been successful. I hope he does well, and I think he will.

Still, he isnt going to lead the team in catches his first game, so to make up for our D-line missing JOnes, and our RG and RT stinking, not to mention our LB’s not being able to cover WR’s/TE’s, we rreally need to see some action from Tate and Rice this sunday.

ANd how about the news that Golden Tate was one of the vets who congratulated Kearse on his promotion, and is acting like a mentoring veteran? Who’d a thunk that after his two years of Taterheadedness?! And Tate thinks Kearse will make plays–thats good enough for me!

I liked Martin too, but the guys done nothing except drop two easy deep passes and a game-winning TD. Time to see what Kearse can do.

  33. sluggo42 says:

Sluggo42, sorry, I don’t foresee myself ever agreeing with an oppositional head case like yourself.

So now you make up words to describe me? I think if we took a little poll in here, that you would probably win the award for the head case…

But I like the word you made up to sound smart.. “Oppositional”..

    nice…

  34. bbnate420 says:

Just to say, I don’t mind who agrees with me. I honestly don’t inorganically try to agree or disagree with anyone. I just have my views. My last post wasn’t meant as an insult, BTW, Georgia. It justs seems you’re hard on Moffitt. It’s your right if you want to, but I just wanted to put some info out there about ADD/ADHD and Adderall or Ritalin. I don’t know his personal situation extensively, as neither does anyone else here I would bet. If you do, you’d probably be violating HIPPA to divulge it.

  35. bbnate420 says:

I understand it might have been in jest, Georgia.
