Receiver Braylon Edwards was a surprise addition to the Seattle Seahawks inactive list this morning. According to the team, Edwards woke up with a swollen knee. Trainers drained it here at the stadium, but it swelled again during pregame workouts.

Edwards was supposed to get significant reps today in his return to his hometown of Detroit. But now that he’s out, Golden Tate will continue to start at split end, and Seattle has only four receivers active for today’s game — Sidney Rice, Ben Obomanu, Charly Martin and Tate.

Defensive tackle Jason Jones (ankle) is inactive, as well as offensive lineman John Moffitt.

For Detroit, three defensive starters are inactive in cornerback Jacob Lacey (concussion), linebacker DeAndre Levy (hamstring) and safety Amari Spievey (concussion).

Jonte Green will start at cornerback for Lacey, Ashlee Palmer will start at outside linebacker for Levy, and Ricardo Silva will start at safety for Spievey.

Here’s the full list.

Dang it. I bet they had a lot of game plan for Edwards. We need to get Rice going early and often to free up the beast.

    Go Hawks!

  2. piperfeltcher says:

Only 4 WR’s will limit the packages the Hawks run today so I would expect they use there TE’s more. Glad to see Levy is out for Detroit as he is by far there best LB and there secondary is the worst in the league even when healthy.

  3. Dukeshire says:

    Some real contributors down today.

  4. Our red zone O stats vrs. their red zone D stats scares the hell out of me.

  5. piperfeltcher says:

I expect Scruggs to have a good day today and take advantage of this chance.

  6. Yes, Scruggs & Charly Martin

  7. Dukeshire says:

No doubt Seattle needs to improve their Red Zone offense dramatically. (As well as 3rd down conversions.)

  8. piperfeltcher says:

I think if the Hawks are to win today they need a couple of long TD’s. Det. weakness has been there secondary and giving up big yardage plays but they play really well on a short field down in the redzone.

  9. Ewalters7354 says:

Well now my expectations are down.I have a feeling this is gonna be a long day.Hope I’m wrong…

  10. This WR group is getting close to rivaling the stellar 2008 bunch.
