  1. From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Ah, the exuberance of youth. Seahawks rookie QB Russell Wilson concluded his conference call with St. Louis reporters Wednesday by saying: “Go ‘Hawks!”

  2. Dukeshire says:

    Lol. That’s great.

  3. Hammajamma says:

He did that Monday night with the ESPN crew as well. A small awkward moment for them, but fun to see.

  4. I bet Wisconsin wished they still had Wilson last night. lol

  5. Time to pound the rock today. Pound pound pound! lol!

I was watching old clips of The Fridge on NFL net the other night.

You know what I’d like to see the Seahawks do? Next time they are inside the 5 with goal-to-go. Put Sweezy at Fullback – ala the Fridge – and let him lead Marshawn to the endzone. Its a perfect role for The Sweeze, as he gets off the snap quick and loves to run and hit. Put him at FB and let him take out a couple defenders while plowing the road to the end zone.

I’ve seen too many failed pass attempts into the endzone this season. At this point, the Seahawks need to be the team that pounds the rock into the endzone and won’t be denied.

  6. mojjonation says:

The undisciplined defense fails to notice a guy outside the line and gets burned. Way to go geniuses. Nice to see the third down woes continue.

  7. mojjonation says:

The Rams get 200 yards in the first half. Can we say let down or trap game?

  8. Seahawks22360 says:

Our 3rd down defense has been killing us. They definitely need to bring the heat in the second half.

  9. IwillPay says:

I hate listening to Ron Pitts..why is he still doing this?

  10. MEhawkfan says:

Twenty-eight years of this for me, and days like today sure make me ask why I’m still a football fan. I was afraid this was going to be the outcome. Seemed like a real lack of focus in several phases. At least Lynch did himself proud.

  11. JazBadAzz says:

We need to see Matt Flynn at QB ASAP!!!

  12. haha R. Wilson 17/25 160 yards and 3 interceptions. To make matters worse, the defense didn’t allow a single touchdown, held s-jax to 55 yards on 18 carries, and left the rams offense with under 300 yards AND WILSON STILL COULDN’T GET THE JOB DONE.

joreb, I was right, you were wrong, shut up.

  13. chuck_easton says:

I think it’s time to see Flynn. Wilson needs to sit and learn. He’s not seeing the open WRs and is throwing into coverage.

  14. CMON, 3 3rd and short plays without a lynch run. Killed 3 drives. GOOD D until 3rd down when we play Zone. This loss is all on coaching O an D. Playing it safe.

  15. guys let’s start talking super bowl and playoffs. wilson’s performance was so awesome i think it’s safe to think 14-2 if he can keep playing like that. 3 int’s is really a formula for success.

SF and AZ will be running away with the division by now.

4th place NFC West Seattle Seahawks!

  16. Tate is crap. Runs bad routes, too often gives up on plays and doesn’t block to whistle. If you recorded this game, go back and watch his overall effort. It stinks! We need Wideouts with game. Ours are way below average. Way below.

  17. MEhawkfan says:

I can see trying to switch it up from run to pass on third and short, but this offense seems incapable of executing in those situations.

  18. russell wilson is the worst starting qb in the nfl.

  19. VNHLNFAN says:

why would we go hurry up with the clock stopped at 2:50 to go?

  20. then again, what do you expect from a qb who spiked the ball with 0 seconds left in a rose bowl championship?

  21. Dukeshire says:

I agree with those who feel Flynn needs to play. Wilson looks overmatched, and is playing like it.

3rd down defense, to me, is scheme related. The Rams took the Dime and Bandit packages apart.

  22. MEhawkfan says:

On-the -job-training at QB might not be the formula for immediate success in the NFL. The question is, is Wilson benefiting from this? If so, how quickly will he show definitive improvement?

  23. VNHLNFAN says:

did tate have a catch today?

  24. MEhawkfan says:

    He had one, I believe.

  25. bbnate420 says:

    Random thoughts:

    1. Our ST got totally outplayed and out-coached. Pathetic. That St.L kicker was money.

    2. Doug Baldwin has just been plain bad this year. Is it injuries and practice time missed? I hope so, and I hope he gets it figured out soon. This WR core is sub-par without a productive Baldwin. Especially with Rice not playing like a #1, or at least not putting up the numbers. Could be more Wilson’s fault in the case of Rice. Don’t have enough information to tell for sure. Pick a WR in the first 3 rounds next draft. That was an exaggeration, sort of.

    3. It’s time to start benching players that make the same stupid penalties week after week. It’s clear that’s the only thing they’ll understand. I’m talking to you Giacomini. I don’t care if it’s an “aggression” penalty. You do the same stupid stuff week after week. Multiple times a game. Time to learn to stop at the whistle. Plus, he’s not a very good pass blocker. If Moffitt is back next week, I think it’s time to move McQuistan to RT and sit that idiot for a week at least.

    4. 3rd down and red zone offense was bad again today. Same story, different day.

    5. I’ll give RW 2 ints for the game. He could have had a int against GB when they called the phantom roughing the passer. We’ll call that a wash with the one that went right through Baldwin’s hands. The last int was clearly not his fault, although I’m sure some morons that shall remain nameless on here will blame him.

    6. Keep all sharp objects away from Georgia. His 2 favorites both had bad games. Baldwin a really bad year so far.

  26. DisplacedSeahawkFan says:

Wilson had a bad game today, but it’s not all on him. So let’s see, on one interception poor O-line play allowed a rusher to tip a ball on Wilson’s blind side, which led to an interception. On another interception, the ball bounced off the receiver. On the final interception the receiver fell down.

Again, Wilson had a bad game. Still, part of the reason Wilson had a bad game was because the O-line can’t pick up blitzes worth a damn. Also, our receivers are mediocre at best–i.e., the don’t get open. Any scrutiny that fails to account for those two aspects is biased.

Also, our D played o.k., until third down. How many 3rd and longs did the Rams convert today? It’s ridiculous that a Defense that is supposed to be good can’t get off the field on 3rd and long. Also, the pass rush was absent again today. Clemons and Irvin were virtually non-existent.

Overall, it was a piss poor performance on both sides of the ball.

  27. bbnate420 says:

Jesus, the overreaction is in FULL SWING already.

RADEoN, well thought out and logical posts, as always. Great analysis of the ints.

I think most realistic fans would’ve taken 2-2 out of our first 4 games going into week 1. Now it’s the end of the world for some reason. I guess some of you thought that a rookie QB wouldn’t have a bad game all year? And 2 of the ints in this game weren’t his fault. Still didn’t play well, but not as bad as his numbers suggest. What happens when Flynn has 1 bad game? We go back to RW? Switch back and forth every time one has a bad game? I thought part of the problem was that one QB didn’t get enough time in the preseason? PC decided to go with a rookie. It’s time to give him time to grow. At least 8 games. It’s not like he has been super terrible or anything.

  28. VNHLNFAN says:

would rather be 1-1 or better after the first 4

  29. djbargelt says:

Don’t care that Pete says he put “a cap” on Wilson. Bevell calls in the choices, and his choices stink!!!! HE NEEDS TO GO! I dont even care that it is mid-season- can him, and do it now! He sticks with the same damn stuff time and time again. Not able to alter to the D that is presented. He stank in Minnesota, and he stinks here! Yes Wilson and the receivers need to improve, but when crap plays are called in, crap is what ya get!
