In an interview with 97.3 KIRO, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said receiver Sidney Rice will practice today, and that he plans on his star receiver playing this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys.

Rice had not practiced on Wednesday and Thursday because of a knee issue, bringing his availability for Sunday in question.

“He’ll practice today,” Carroll said. “He’ll be out there today. And he’s been running around all week long. We’re just trying to make sure it isn’t an issue for the weekend. So we’re managing him through, but I plan on seeing him playing.”

  1. I hope Sidney is fine, recall Winslow,or Butler or Kearse

  2. PugetHawk says:

This guy cannot stay healthy. I will be surprised if he is a Hawk next year. Really hope we can pick a #1 receiver up this offseason or draft…oh and a #2 as well. Ouch!

  3. bird_spit says:

After this season, see last nights game, Brandon Marshall may come cheap.

  4. NYHawkFan says:

Rice may be playing this Sunday, but he hasn’t gotten any reps with Wilson during practice this week. That doesn’t help them develop the rapport that is needed to make some plays. That concerns me.

  5. jchawks08 says:

Brandon Marshall, my #1 FF WR with 2.4 pts last night. I’m in trouble. I’d personally like to thank Jay Cutler for calling out the GB DB’s. lol. Jerk.
Sydney is proving to be quite fragile. But it sounds like he’s playing. Let’s not get too down on the guy. We got a glimpse of what he brings to the table last week. Not to mention what he did last year in what 9 games? He wasn’t horrible by any means.

  6. bird_spit says:

I’ll go out on limb, and predict a Seahawk win.. The score 35-17.

  7. GeorgiaRay says:

thats a long, skinny limb….hope it can hold the weight

  8. montanamike2 says:

Rice can be a force but he hasn’t done much as a Hawk. It’s imperitive that Wilson and Rice get on a groove together.

  9. Southendzone says:

I know all preseason it was fun to gush about how great of F.O. job the Hawks were doing on the talent side, but here’s one they may have missed.

When someone brought up the idea “Hey let’s bring in an aging former star at WR who’s been out of the league for a year”, the Hawks got Braylon and TO, while the 49’ers got Moss. This could end up being one we look back on and say OOPS!

  10. South –
There’s also Plax and Chad they coulda brought in. Hard to say which past ‘great’ WR might bring this team needed help at the position. Or, maybe bring in young unknowns (kinda like Baldwin) and let them develop some chemistry with RW(?) Still, wish Hawks woulda taken Alshon Jeffery.
