We need to run right at these punks! Turbin needs more carrys.

I’d like to see us use Turbin a bit more in throwing situations. he looked good catching the ball in preseason. We also need Moffitt in there. Sorry JR but pass protection is a must this week.

Holy smoke! the Cowboys are averaging 227 yards a punt? that’s hard to beat.

We’re on pace for 16 sacks this season! And that was against the supposed worst OL in the NFL.

The cowboys really moved the ball in their game one! I don’t expect that to happen as easily against us, but our OL looked totally crappy! Both guard positions were awful, but even Okung looked weak! Not Wilson’s fault except that he had a rec’r open (under) in his pass to Rice near the end…
What bothered me the most was the way Ar pushed us around in the first half…. before and more so ‘after’ the whistle was blown! That was totally weak! I thought we are supposed to be strong! That’s a ‘team’ thing! There’s no way that should be tolerated! We should have put an end to that “on the field” as a unit! And, if you’ve played, you know how that’s done…

FYI Romo passed for 307 yards

IBGoofy I don’t know what game you watched but Okung was rarely challenged. It is the blame of the QB when you had as many opportunity as the Seahawks had and the extra timeout and the help of the Cardinals theirs no excuse other than the Qb didn’t get it done.

TOOCAN,
Romo passed for 307 but was sacked for -26, so total yards gained in pass attempts is 291. So the stat is correct when it says passing yards gained 290 (or 291).

TOOCAN – I just rewatched every offensive snap on the all-22, and I can tell you, Okung did not have a first rd pick LT performance. Like stated on here before, okungs run blocking is the best on the team. His pass protection, not so masterful. That said, most breakdowns happened on the right. Sweezy made his share of rookie mistakes.
Clearly RW was in a fog after the first sack, 1st quarter. But by late 2nd, and for the rest of the game, he was in the game. He made a bunch of rookie mistakes, yes absolutely. Let’s hope he corrects them.

Hawksince77 – great breakdown a few threads ago on RW
Spit – Did you (or hawk77) notice any “in-game” improvement in RW as the game progressed?? Were you able to detect any new awarenesses as the game progressed in his game that showed that he was actually learning and reacting from game time stimuli?

Not to give Okung a pass because that was not his best day (to put it mildly ), but I did re-watch the game and it appears that he was having problems with his right leg well before the play that he finally collapsed.
I would not be at all suprised to learn that he tried to gut it out and finally just couldn’t take it. That being said, it’s the catch 22 for Okung. He takes himself right out and he get’s the ‘made of glass’ label re-affirmed. He tried to gut it out and his diminished performance hurts the team.
No win for the big guy. I just hope this is the season he finally starts all 16 games so we can finally put the injury prone label to rest.
O-line is a tough gig. I coach it in junior football and I can tell you that on every play even when everything goes right one or more of my kids come off the field limping, or having a new ding in the arms, body or elsewhere.
