Sorry folks. We were told that the Seattle Seahawks would be releasing cuts on time this year, but once again are disappointed.

Here’s what we know so far. WR Ricardo Lockette and LB Allen Bradford have indicated through twitter that they have been released, while S Chris Maragos seems to indicate he’s on the roster.

Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times is reporting that WR Charly Martin made cut, while WR Kris Durham, LB Korey Toomer and WR Deon Butler will be released.

And Curtis Crabtree of KJR-AM reports that OL Paul Fanaika will be cut.

That’s all we know right now. I’ll get the full roster up once it’s been released.

  1. Was hoping we’d keep Lockette over Obamanu.

  2. jacobhawkr says:

They just posted on Facebook their cuts.

  3. jacobhawkr says:

    Lockette waived.

  4. Southendzone says:

Damn, I was hoping Butler would make it, I thought he deserved a spot.

  5. Carp’s on the active roster, not PUP. Good sign. Now for the rest of the smoke to start clearing. What a doozy of a preseason.

  6. The Seahawks announced their roster cuts Friday.
Waived: DB Phillip Adams, DE Pierre Allen, LB Allen Bradford, WR Deon Butler, WR Kris Durham, G Paul Fanaika, G Rishaw Johnson, WR Jermaine Kearse, LB Kyle Knox, WR Ricardo Lockette, TE Sean McGrath, C Kris O’Dowd, QB Josh Portis, DB DeShawn Shead, LB Korey Toomer, WR Lavasier Tuinei. seattle times

  7. This was posted by someone on fieldgulls:

The following players have been waived: Phillip Adams, Pierre Allen, Allen Bradford, Deon Butler, Kris Durham, Paul Fanaika, Rishaw Johnson, Jermaine Kearse, Kyle Knox, Cordarro Law, Ricardo Lockette, Sean McGrath, Kris O’Dowd, Josh Portis, DeShawn Shead, Korey Toomer, Lavasier Tuinei

The following players have been waived with the designation of injured: Cooper Helfet, Vai Taua

James Carpenter has been placed on the active roster from active/physically unable to perform

The following vested veteran has been placed on reserve/injured: Matt McCoy

The following player has been placed on reserve/physically unable to perform: Walter Thurmond

The following player has been waived from reserve/injured with an injury settlement: Pep Levingston

  8. Sorry to see Butler go. I know most of you guys called it but I really like his determination. I was also hoping for McGrath or Helfit to make a spot. Honestly, I never saw the allure of Portis. I hope Kearse and Tuinei make the PS

  9. No disrespect but given Obo’s ability to play outatanding ST, I don’t understand how anyone can favor Lockette over Obo. Lockette’s fast but let’s face it, other than a couple catches last year he’s done more talking than playing. I understand he was hurt, but still…

And Obo’s ability to contribute in multiple ways has to outweigh “future potential”, especially since this team is starting to really get some good depth.

  10. Lane? Why?

  11. Dukeshire says:

Skav – That sound argument falls on many deaf ears here, sadly. Then factor in Lockette’s dismal preseason and I really don’t see how he stays over Obo.

  12. Dukeshire says:

I would expect, of that list, for Portis and Toomer to be locks for the PS.

  13. HeinieHunter says:

Sorry to see Bragg go. I’m sure some team will pick him up.
