Desperate times apparently call for desperate measure.
With the Seattle Seahawks looking for a physical, big-play receiver to stretch the defense, according to Dave Mahler of KJR-AM, the team will be hosting veteran receiver Terrell Owens in the near future.
UPDATE: The Seahawks confirmed that Owens is in fact coming in for a workout tomorrow.
Mahler says that according to a league source, Owens is on his way to visit Seattle. Mahler also says that he does not know what Seattle’s intentions are for Owens — whether he is simply coming in for a tryout or will be signing a contract upon his arrival.
The Seahawks already have brought in veterans Braylon Edwards and Antonio Bryant to try and help resolve the team’s issue at receiver. Bryant was cut from the 90-man roster today.
Owens, 38, last played in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals, finishing with 72 receptions for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.
