This just came in from the NFLPA:

The NFL Management Council and NFL Players Association have determined that the Seattle Seahawks violated the Collective Bargaining Agreement’s offseason workout rules on the prohibition of live contact during one of the club’s organized team activity days (“OTA days”).

As a result, the Seahawks will forfeit two of their scheduled OTA practices (June 6 and 7) as well as an additional offseason workout day on Friday, June 8.  Seahawks’ players are not permitted to be at the facility on those days, but will be paid for the sessions.  The club cannot reschedule the cancelled days.

    Thanks for the update Darrin.

Eric or Dave, Contact? They were obviously in shirts and shells during all the workouts so is this a type of arbitrary “contact”? Essentially just an OTA that got a bit aggressive? And who complained to the union? A player? Are union representatives present during OTA’s?

Where does Brian Banks’s work out fit in all this? Can the coaches see non-signed prospects?

  3. Dukeshire says:

    Workouts and OTAs are separate.

Who is the snitch? If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying. jk

Is Banks’ tryout tomorrow going to be impacted by this? There seems to be some speculation that it is, though I am not sure why.

I see one of the regulars already responded to the Banks tryout. Would like a definitive answer since Liz and Doug are giving me the impression on Twitter that there is some type of impact on his tryout behind this.

Probably figured no one was paying much attention, due to the fact we’re way out here in Siberia.
