Word of first round draft pick Bruce Irvin agreeing to terms with the Seattle Seahawks emerged earlier today.

But the Seahawks announced that eight of team’s 10 draft choices had agreed to terms this afternoon.

Joining Irvin are Utah Sate linebacker Bobby Wagner, a second-round choice; third round draft choice quarterback Russell Wilson; fifth round draft choice linebacker Korey Toomer; sixth round draft choices cornerback Jeremy Lane and strong safety Winston Guy; and seventh round draft choices offensive guard J.R. Sweezy and defensive end Greg Scruggs.

Only fourth round draft choice defensive end Jaye Howard out of Florida and fourth round choice running back Robert Turbin out of Utah State remain unsigned.

Nice! Really like the new CBA.

  3. Sarcasticus says:

I am very excited to see Wilson signed and ready to go. My hope is that he wins the QB battle.

  4. bird_spit says:

    Crazy Good…

  5. Dukeshire says:

    Goodness sakes. This is awesome.

  6. FishAK says:

Wow, this is incredible…Thie new CBA is paying dividends right off the bat. I always hated those lengthy holouts…did nothing but hurt the players and they would not be ready for the season.

I am looking forward to seeing how these new rookies will play and see if they actually get some playing time! Really good news on the homefront and I am sure the other two will follow very soon.

I am ready for some football!

  7. That is impressive.

  8. Who are the 4th round agents and what is up with them?

  9. chuck_easton says:

Howard and Turbin are the 4th rounders

  10. SandpointHawk says:

Holy Cow, this is unheard of….

  11. Cornutt says:

The pop-up ads have gotten bad here. Good grief.

  12. raymaines says:

We know who was drafted in the fourth round, the question was about who their agents might be. And my totally uneducated guess would be their agents would be the agents for some higher priced talent and the guy just doesn’t have time to screw around with two fourth round guys just yet. No hold outs or anything, just that the agent is busy earning some actual money.

  13. bird_spit says:

My take away is some how team mgt has not drafted a bunch of prima donnas. Excellent character evaluations..and hopefully that translates to a good team mate.

  14. montanamike2 says:

The new CBA and our new FO rule!
I bet it’s not long before the 4th rounders are signed as well.

  15. Singularitarian says:

I would bet that the 4th round contracts just aren’t as clear since both have not signed. There might not be that go to number for that round. I’m sure they’ll sign soon

  16. montanamike2 says:

I was at the hot springs last night and i ran into my neighbor (3 houses down) from Wisconsin, I asked him about Flynn and he told me that he’s unproven- wow what a shocker! He then bitched me out because Russell Wilson was who they wanted if he fell, I guess he was a local hero in college. This guy inherited season tickets to the Packers, he lets his family use it since he’s here. This guys house is yellow with green trim and flags all over the place. He told me that he and his wife were going to seattle for the Pack game. I’m wondering if i should bring my group as well?

  17. montanamike2 says:

Oh yeah the pop ups are getting insane here.

  18. wabubba67 says:

Adjust your pop up blocker…I don’t have any problem.

  19. Cornutt says:

I have pop-up blocker on full bore, and still get the ads that won’t close.

Anywho, yeah, nice to see 8/10 signed! Sweet!

  20. Dukeshire says:

montanamike – Do you happen to live in the Bozeman area, by chance?

  21. Canfan says:

When I get an ad, I hit the refresh button. That seems to work.

  22. Southendzone says:

Yeah, that comcast ad with the couple singing on the couch is f’ing obnoxious. It lets me close it after like 3 seconds and that is way too much.

  23. psoundpowerhouse says:

God, I hope Seattle kicks some a$$ this year!

  24. montanamike2 says:

Sorry Duke my niece called for over 2 hours before i could come back.
Yes i live in Bozeman, right by the hotsprings. Are you familiar with the area?

  25. Macabrevity says:

This new CBA is one of the biggest most tangible improvements in the NFL in a looooong time. The commish gets booed regularly, but he has a tough job, and the lockout last season couldn’t have been easy to manage. Hats off for getting this done. It’s good for the fans, good for the league, and no tears for the rookies… they’ll just need to manage their millions a little better now.

  26. Dukeshire says:

Montanamike – Yeah. I worked at Big Sky resort golf course, after college, for a couple seasons. When you said hot springs, I wondered if it was the same one as those at the mouth of he Gallatin. Love and miss that area.

  27. montanamike2 says:

Duke i live directly behind the hotsprings on the Gallatin in 4 corners, it takes me 15 seconds to get there on my atv. I used to do a lot of work painting and drywall up in Big Sky, i hate the drive down the hill in the winter. Semi trucks push you in the canyon as you go by endless crosses on the side of the road, scary!

  28. BobbyK says:

I’m still feeling giddy about having two QBs that I like (Flynn/Wilson). I can’t wait for the reports about Wilson when the rookies report! While I hope Flynn never allows Wilson the chance to see the field (performance/health), it’ll be fun watching the development of Wilson with the idea that there will still be hope if Flynn does get injured.

  29. HawkfaninMT says:

Eough of this Bobcat Country talk… Where is Divish when we need him?!?

  30. montanamike2 says:

Hawkfan you’re up in Helena right?

  31. Dukeshire says:

You boys live in god’s country. The time I spent in the Gallatin was so of the most fun I’ve ever had, I know right where you’re at. Next time you make it down Big Sky way, tip one back at the Half Moon Saloon for me!

  32. montanamike2 says:

I’ll go there for that purpose Duke. I have a friend who goes there monthly to party with his girlfriend

  33. montanamike2 says:

It will be nice to have a qb and a backup who can utilize all the weapons we have. I’ll wager that we go from a bottom 15 team to a top 15 this year. It’s not just qb, we also will have an Elite defense.
Tj is a good game manager and knows this system, but he lacks field vision and often leads his recievers into a dangerous spot. In other words he doesn’t read the opposing D right away and also contributes to our injury situation. He has potiental to get better but at this stage of his career we kinda know his ceiling. I wouldn’t be suprised to see us carry 4 qb’s this season keeping TJ as insurance until next year. That could change if Wilson or Portis impress early on.

  34. HeinieHunter says:

The FO stayed with the WRs they already had. I’m wondering if they think the lack of production last year in passing was due to poor QB division making? Ie Williams had few catches but Hass threw to him when he looked covered and Tjack didn’t. Just wondering.

  35. HeinieHunter says:

Decision not division. Damn spell check!

  36. I think 3 things are working with us on this great news

    1. New CBA
    2. No Nonsense Front office
    3. Players who want to be here and get in on what we are doing!
