The Seattle Seahawks just released the teams undrafted rookie free agent list. It’s an important list for Seattle, because guys like Josh Portis, Jeron Johnson, Doug Baldwin and Ricardo Lockette all finished the season on the 53-man roster.
University of Washington receiver Jermaine Kearse will stay home, agreeing to terms with Seattle to join the team’s 90-man roster. Kearse worked out in front of Seattle wide receiver coach Kippy Brown at UW’s pro day, and also attended the local pro day at the Seahawks facility on April 5.
Here’s the full list.
Phil Bates, WR, Ohio U
London Durham, CB, McNeese State
Rishaw Johnson, OG, California (PA)
Jermaine Kearse, WR, Washington
Sean McGrath, TE, Henderson State
Jon Opperud, OT, Montana
DeShawn Shead, DB, Portland State
Monte Taylor, LEO, Cincinnati
Lavasier Tuinei, WR, Oregon
Carson Wiggs, K, Purdue
Wow, totally forgot about Kearse. Thought to be a possible 3rd rounder at beginning of process! Sunk like a stone! Could be a good pickup if the NFL allows players to use stick’um again.
1st-Chandler Jones, DE, Syr
2nd-Lavonte David, LB, Neb
3rd-Bruce Irvin, DE/LB, West Virginia
4th-Robert Turbin, RB, Utah St
6th-Russell Wilson, QB, Wisc
7th-Vontaze Burfict, LB, Arizona St
Picked 3 of the right players, albeit not in the correct rounds except for Turbin. Was going to go with Wagner in the 2nd but changed my mind at the last second. It was pretty much a toss up between Wagner and David to me.

Any talented football players out there should take a page from Burfict if you want to guarantee yourself to NOT be drafted! Maybe someone can persuade him to pull his head out of you know where.

bbnate420–Yeah, I thought we might go Kendricks in the second or third, and I really liked Turbin so I thought he’d go before Wilson. Doh! I like LaVontae David as well.
I read enough obscure internet scouting reports and mock drafts etc to know Irvin wouldnt last into the second round, but I had no idea Seattle would take him at 15, thats for sure.
Seattle was after speed, Wagner is faster than David.
Seattle doesnt have a single MLB on the roster. Everyone is SAMS or WILLS they intend to play at MLB. They are obviously gonna stick Wagner at MLB with Ruud, and expect the D-line, with new help at LEO to stop the run, or at least slow it down. Im a bit skeptical of MLB’s that are easy to block, but having an MLB that can cover TE’s and WR’s will be cool since the NFC is so stocked with big fast WR’s.
It looks to me like Seattle is going back to the 4-3 Under.

2011 — Rose Bowl Offensive Player of the Game with career-highs of eight catches and 158 yards to go with a pair of touchdowns in win over Wisconsin
Not to shabby! Go Ducks! Go Seahawks!!! Nice pick-up

I wonder if we have a Baldwin in the group. It is hard to find gold like we did with him in the FA pool.
I was excited about Burflict skills and then I read more about the man/boy- immature, self centered jerk with thug tendency. PASS on the ass.

Rishaw Johnson, “I’m gonna bring an attitude, I’m gonna bring a mean streak to the line…”

Actually, Wagner did play MLB in college. I think most analysts just projected him to OLB because of his size. He’s the same size as Hawthorne while being a lot faster. He might be stronger too. 24-28 reps. His broad jump was sick. 11 feet which would’ve been one inch less than the best for every player at the combine, Steven Hill a WR! He is athletically a freak. I think the only thing you can really knock him on is the level of competition at USU but, you can watch film for the Auburn game on here or youtube and he looks up to the competition to me.

Yes,Wagner will be fun to watch the middle. I’m so glad Carroll is truely committed to keeping Wright at Sam.

I would suggest that the drafting of Russell in the 3rd round will eventually mean bye bye to T-Jack.

I doubt TJax will be gone before this season. He only has 1 year left on his deal and at a backup QB number. I see Flynn, TJax, and Wilson all on the Hawks final roster.
