Good morning. We just arrived at the VMAC. Sorry, but because of the fast pace of today’s draft we won’t be running a live chat.

But we’ll provide you the latest updates of what’s happening today. Seattle has seven picks in rounds four through seven. I’d be surprised if they use them all, but we’ll see.

Seattle has two picks in the fourth round (106 and 114), one in the fifth (154), two in the sixth (172 and 181) and two in the seventh (225) and 232).

Also, Seattle’s first round pick defensive end Bruce Irvin arrives today, and we’ll get a chance to talk to him at about 10:15 a.m.

Here’s my story on Seattle selecting Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson. And both Pete Carroll and John Schneider talk about drafting Wilson in the video above.

ESPN’s Mike Sando writes that Seattle drafting Russell Wilson calls into question Josh Portis’ role on this team.

Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com provides some info on Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Tony Jones of the Salt Lake City Tribune has a nice feature on Wagner.

Steve Kelly of Seattle Times says the Seahawks three no-name picks have a lot to prove.

Booo. Live chat! Live Chat! I mean, Divish can do it. He’s only hungover, it’s not like he’s got anything to do.

  2. Dukeshire says:

Even the NFLs web site is having issues today.

  3. Dukeshire says:

    ‘Hawks on the clock

  4. Good pick!

  5. chuck_easton says:

Seattle isn’t looking so bad now. Why would Washington take RGIII in the 1st and Cousins in the 4th when they have so few picks

  6. Dukeshire says:

    YES! Turbin!!!

  7. whoohoo we got Turbin! Marshawn II!

  8. Dukeshire says:

Stevo – We got him! lol!!

  9. BrianBlades says:

Pretty quiet in here, I might have to come out of retirement

  10. Was thinking wr/rb here. Perfect.

I have a feeling people will be feeling a lot better after today.

  11. HawkfaninMT says:

Is that Bevell in the blue polo shirt sitting next to JS on the live cam? He looked pumped about this pick

  12. Ya boy Now Thats getting with it

  13. raymaines says:

Two guys from Utah State. Wow

  14. well i got 1 prediction right

  15. Good pick.

  16. who would have thought that 2 picks you are excited about are from Utah st

  17. Awesome! I thought they might be targeting Turbin, but I had him going in the third and Wilson in the fourth. Damn! So close to being the Mock Draft King this year LOL!

I wonder if Seattle would have taken Lamar Miller if he’d been there, over Turbin. I dont care, Im happy with Turbin. A great pick, and its really nice to have a backup to Lynch. No more Cleveland games like last year!

I told y’all we were gonna go get a backup to Lynch and a backup S and a big corner today…and that y’all would quit bitchin and learn to love this draft!

  18. Dukeshire says:

I’m so happy. I was hoping they’d land him, for months.

  19. Soggybuc says:

Now that Turbin is in the fold it’s all icing on the cake now!

  20. Cheers, Duke! This was a huge need, and Turbin looks ideal to spell Marshawn and execute many of the same things Marshawn does, find the cutback lane, accelerate, break the first tackle, wear down the defense. I was very concerned about what happens if Marshawn gets injured. Now we have some insurance.

  21. SeattleBlue says:

solid pick. personally, it would have been fun to get polk but i see the merit here. less injury risk it seems

  22. Come on George Iloka…

  23. I am feeling Polk is going to be a very late round or UFA for someone

  24. Damn! Frickin’ Stealers just took Ladarius Green…I kinda wanted to see us get him…okay, now for Iloka..

  25. grizindabox24 says:

    Chargers took Green

  26. tchristensen says:

ESPN just showed Turbin highlights. He runs exactly like Lynch!

  27. For those who are counting (not me or STTM, of course!)
The current leader on the tnt mock draft is…

    STTBM
    2) Bobby Wagner LB
    3) Robert Turbin RB
    4) Russell Wilson QB

Currently trailing with 2 correct picks:
    Eric Williams
    soggybuck
    jhbaek9
    wabubba
    Audible
    bbnate420

  28. Les MIles is hard to listen to…

  29. chuck_easton says:

    DT Howard? Depth pick

  30. grizindabox24 says:

Howard gives the Hawks DT rotation added depth…good pick

  31. grizindabox24 says:

Jaye Howard is an athletic freak. Could very well be better than Dontari Poe. Howard played out of position as a NT in Florida. He’s a penetrating 3-tech DT.

  32. SandpointHawk says:

Howard became a full-time starter for Florida in 2010, but had his best season as a senior in 2011, recording 65 tackles – 10 1/2 for loss – a career-high 5 1/2 sacks, two pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He finished his college career with 131 tackles – 25 1/2 for loss – and 11 1/2 sacks in 45 games, earning an All-SEC honorable mention as a senior. A defensive end/linebacker in high school, Howard added 60 pounds during his time with the Gators. Although still somewhat light for an NFL defensive tackle, Howard offsets that with quick feet and excellent agility. He is very good against the run and has deceptive speed when chasing down a ball carrier. With experience lining up at several different defensive line spots during his career, Howard offers the versatile skill set teams look for. But despite his solid numbers at Florida, Howard was inconsistent and didn’t play his best against elite teams like Alabama and LSU. He also took too many face-mask and offside penalties, too often jumping on hard counts. Howard neither hurt nor helped himself much at the NFL combine, running a respectable 40-yard dash in 4.82 seconds. With enough ability to play at the next level, Howard will likely be a late-round selection by a team willing to let him gain experience before making him a starter.

  33. Good pick, our line is looking better and better.

  34. How about some OL depth now…

  35. Stevos–Im just enjoying not being the guy who didnt get a single pick mocked correctly..I usually suck so bad its pathetic..;p

  36. Toon gone, Ron Brooks gone, Boykin gone…

  37. Hard to believe we passed on Jared Crick for the dude from Florida.

  38. My guess would be they see Howard as developing into a run stuffing tackle. he could easily get up to 315 320
