The Seattle Seahawks select Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner with the No. 47 pick in the second round.
Seattle originally had the No. 43 pick in this round, but traded four spots down with the N.Y. Jets, picking up a fifth rounder (154 overall) and a seventh rounder (232).
Wagner, at 6-0, 241 pounds, can play both inside and outside linebacker, and gives Seattle a player to compete at inside linebacker with Barrett Rudd.
This is another great pick, fits our system. Lovin’ it!

Ha! Im now in the Mock Draft Lead!
The Apocalypse MUST be upon us!
I cant believe the Pats passed on Trumaine Johnson from Montana; they guy is a stud press corner. And for some also-ran safety: but then again, they blow picks all the time lately–they drafted Brandon Merriweather, for God’s sake!
Whats even weirder is the Rams drafted some RB I never heard of and passed Johnson over as well, and Jeff Fisher loves picking talent from UM. Curiouser and Curiouser…
DEVON STILL has not been picked! Unbelievable!

You’re tied, STTBM…there are 5 that had Wagner in the 2nd round.

The Future Leo and a linebacker, just what I wanted for Christmas. Should have done a little more research though, as I had Mercilus and Levonte David, but the Hawks even shocked me and that is hard to do. Go Hawks! Time for a play maker

I think Wagner can also play MLB…he’s going to compete with Ruud. Excellent pick.

3 comments? Did everyone jump off the ledge from the Bruce Irvin pick? Interesting. I know nothing about this Wagner fella, but he was the defensive MVP of the Senior Bowl so yay. lol Chris Polk, 3rd round. Do it PCJS!

I’ve been on the Wagner band wagon for months – so I am diggin’ this pick. Love the fact that we traded back and still got him.

The Hawks actually showed interest in Wagner, which is why I chose him in the Mock over Brown. That, and Brown was called an athlete who lacked instincts, while Wagner has great anticipation. I remembered Curry the Bust, and decided Seattle would take the safer of the two LB’s. David I expected to be gone allready, but he’s bigger and slower and Carrol said they wanted to get faster at LB…

Nicely done. I thought Kendricks missed it by one slot.

I don’t understand it. But all I keep telling myself we had the safest pick in the draft several years ago, and we all know how that worked out for us. I do look forward to seeing how these guys are going to be used …

Wow, the Bungles got one right and stopped Devon Still’s fall. I cant believe they made a smart pick…
JazBadAzz–You were right, Jenkins went far higher in the draft than Trumaine Johnson, which is a shame. I still think Johnson is gonna be an upper echelon press corner in the NFL, but the Div I A snobbery continues…

Pete’s trend continues: younger, stronger and faster. “Better” is still an open question but I’m optimistic.
No complaints if all our other picks go to the offensive side. Then again, at this point maybe BPA is the best option.

Whats up with Vinny Curry? Why hasn’t he been selected by any team?

EyeAmBaldman – I believe you are exactly right. He’ll compete and hopefully beat out Ruud at Mike.

Holy Crap! Russel Wilson!
Damn! My Mock just went to heck! No Turbin, but Wilson two rounds ahead of the draftnik idiots, and a full round ahead of where I thought we’d take him…
I cant believe Polk has fallen so far…
What a draft–everyone in the NFL is happy so far, they are ALL getting great talent and their hidden wants…

I’m an optimist and a believer!! Honest, trust me.
I really believe every rookie the Seahawks draft will go to the Hall Of Fame, and I totally believe in JS&PC, but I’m getting a little worried. Bobby Wagner? Really? Russel Wilson? Really?
Time will tell, but I’m worried.

Blocis I read the CBS report and found this funny. “Wagner ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 and 4.47 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout where he also had a 39 1/2 inch vertical leap and an 11-foot broad jump. He bench pressed 25 pounds 24 times, also registering a 7.09 in the three-cone drill and an 11.72 in the 60-yard shuttle.”
LOL did you see the major typo? Read the bench press again if you did not.
