These are not your father’s Seattle Seahawks uniforms, but I like them.

Instead of taking a step back to the more traditional team colors, the Seahawks surged into the future with the debut of new uniforms this morning by Nike.

Check out a photo gallery of the new uniforms here.

Nike, the new supplier of uniforms and apparel for the NFL in a 10-year deal, introduced new uniforms for all 32 teams this morning in Brooklyn, New York.

League commissioner Roger Goodell was on hand in New York for the event.

So let us know what you think in the comments section, and vote thumbs up or thumbs down in the poll below.

What do you think of the Seahawks new uniforms?

It’s the first time Seattle has had new uniforms since Reebok’s 10-year relationship with the league began in 2002, when the team changed to a darker blue in concert with the opening of Seahawks Stadium that year.

Seahawks Kam Chancellor was the team’s main model for the new uniforms in New York.

According to Seahawks owner Paul Allen they are calling the alternative gray jerseys “Wolf grey”

REALLY don’t like the helmet ‘upgrades’ and am pissed they took the Seahawk off the sleeve. I like the grey jersey, though.

  2. grizindabox says:

Not impressed…actually unimpressed, think they missed the boat on the look

  3. I hope it grows on me.

  4. SeahawkFan12 says:

And I do appreciate the salute to the 12th Man.

  5. bigsmooth says:

Feathers on the helmet? Really. Brutal.

  6. Cool, we look like Oregon, I’m sure everyone in Seattle is going to love that, FAIL.

  7. Other than the stupid line on the helmet, I really like the look, besides, it’s just uniforms.

  8. Well, I guess you won’t have to worry about getting hit by a car when sporting it, what is the deal with neon colors lately, WTF. The frusturating thing is that I like supporting my team by wearing jersey’s and stuff, the old uni’s went with everything and I felt proud and cool, no way will I ever wear this Oregon garbage, damn.

  9. seahawk44 says:

WHY REMOVE THE LOGO FROM THE JERSEY?

  10. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

is it my imagination or is the green on the away uni like pea soup green?

  11. Dukeshire says:

No logo on the sleeve is a damn shame. Awful. And feathers…? Please.

  12. Hollywoodhawk says:

Manages to both emphasize everything I hated about the most recent uniforms , while adding a new level of atrociousness. This seems so much further away from anything that resembles Classic Seahawks…Boo!

I would guess that 10 or more of the people that voted thumbs up are Seahawks or Nike employees.

  13. Hollywoodhawk says:

Manages to both emphasize everything I hated about the most recent uniforms , while adding a new level of atrociousness. This seems so much further away from anything that resembles Classic Seahawks…Boo!

I would guess that 3/4 or more of the people that voted thumbs up are Seahawks or Nike employees.

  14. Dukeshire says:

A surge to the future, eh? I’d be willing to bet these stupid jersey designs will be tweaked within 3 years, which is a sure sign the F’ed up.

  15. grizindabox says:

I am definitely not going to run out and purchase a new jersey.

  16. Dukeshire: Anybody who grew up playing and watching football over 40 is going to naturally hate these uniforms, especially if you liked more understated uniforms like Penn State, Notre Dame, USC and Washington in the Huskies’ hey day. But players and people in their 20s that play and watch football will love these uniforms, and that’s the demographic the team is trying to reach.

  17. Won’t be buying any of this.

  18. grizindabox says:

EDub, funny, just told Div I am just too old to see what is so cool about the uniforms.

  19. Crazy, I thought they were going torwards the Oregon demographic.

  20. Not crazy about the helmet – but I kinda like the home uniforms. Not gonna lose any sleep over any of it though . .

  21. psoundpowerhouse says:

Ugliest uniforms in the NFL. I’m done.
    lost me completely.

  22. EyeAmBaldman says:

Personally, I’m glad they didn’t go back to the old jerseys. They are dated. Am I a fan of the “Oregon”-look? Yes, for some reason, I like these. Regardless, no one in the NFL is going to look like this. The players seem to like them so I’m cool with that. Of course, I like the Reebok jerseys, too.

  23. baldbandit says:

Why am I not seeing any pictures of the blue jerseys with the gray pants? That’s the combo I want to see.

  24. piperfeltcher says:

I like the way the logo wraps around the back of the helmet but could do without the stripe on top. The uniforms are alright kind of overly flashy reminds me of the XFL uni’s.

  25. Good point Eric! These are a long way from my Kenny Easley jersey, but other than bringing a little silver into it from the old days, I didn’t want to revert. In gerneral, I do like them, but don’t like the helmet or the all white version. Taking the logo off the jersey didn’t make any sense either.

Did they say when they would be available? I have been so undecided who my next jersey would be, I love so many of these guys–defense and offense! Been waiting for new jerseys to replace the #8 I still have…

  26. EyeAmBaldman says:

Eric, absolutely not true. I’m over 40 and I like these unis. I’ve been a Hawks fan since 1980 and I’ve like all the uni incarnations. This one is definitely unique.

  27. Looks great,If we win with them they will really look good.

  28. What are those,,,tulips?

  29. Stop making excuses they are bad!

  30. JazBadAzz says:

These are the best in the league now, I love the ascents in the numbers and down the leg and the strip on the helmet that comes to a point in the back where the 2 seahawks come together! I excited and can’t wait til I get mines! Can’t wait til I see these in HD! Glad that light blue is gone. The feathers really don’t look like feathers, this new uni and helmet is BadAzz!

  31. I don’t think they are as ugly as Baltimore, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Carolina, Philadelphia, or Denver. At least we still have the coolest logo in the NFL. And they didn’t screw up the socks either!

  32. Im well over 50 and I love them. The original Jersey rocked but we cant go back.

  33. yakimahawk says:

I am 48 years old and like the uniforms…I just don’t care for the lime/pea green around the numbers…They could have done a silver or dark grey to give it the same pop with a “tougher’ kind of feel..IMO

  34. beavercleaver says:

Seahawk logo replaced by Nike corporate logo on jersey? Really? I own 6 seahawk jerseys but this is a will not buy item. I’d rather have a neon green jersey than one of these. Funny how the comments are running 10-1 bad but the poll has the majority liking them?

  35. yakimahawk says:

And Eric I do understand you comment on demographics to Duke. But with all due respect us guys over 40 are the ones buying the tickets and spending 5M a year in advertising with the Seahawks, not my kids…They might want to think things through a little more on who is really buttering their bread!

  36. Dukeshire says:

Eric – I don’t buy that argument. I like the Huskies current uniforms. It’s not that I’m some old kurmugin that’s opposed to change. But I do oppose tacky, and the “feathers” (would any of us know they were feather if we weren’t told?) are tacky. The removal of the ‘Hawk on the sleeve is shameful. The sleeve looks cheap, now. Moreover, if this is an attempt to woo the 20-something crowd, why didn’t every team change as dramatically as Seattle? No, I reject the narrative this is an age thing. For me, this is a classy thing, and these are not.

But don’t worry Lord Nike, I’ll be buying the new gear…

  37. Dukeshire says:

    yakimahawk – Hear hear

  38. Are any of the other teams jerseys looking like this too. We are already the NFL outcasts and have a stigma of being an after thought, now we’ll get the privilage of having the ugliest jerseys as well, perfect. Now Seattle’s definately getting no love. Cool, at least we will be on “C’mon man”.

  39. Dukeshire says:

BobbyK – Yes, the coolest logo, for sure. But it’s being phased out, or at least featured less.

  40. chrisj122 says:

I HATE these new uni’s with a PASSION. They make us look like some kinda Euro futuristic soccer team. I’m still hoping this is just a late April fool’s joke because these really suck.
I can’t even talk about this anymore, they ruined my beloved Seahawks!

    Talk to guys later
    I’m out

  41. Great here come all the “old school guys” and pro claimed NFL purists to do a crotchety dance and rant…..

I applaud you gentlemen new and old that aren’t afraid of change and keeping an open mind…

I admit I was a little shocked at first but the design is quickly growing on me… The feather trim is pretty cool but a little much when incorporated into te numbers… It reminds me of native American artwork which is very prevalent in the northwest and also to the Seahawk franchise…. At least they put some thought into the changes…

  42. What is up with the neon green all over the jersey? It makes the jerseys fugly… Like Eric mentioned about the Seahawks demographic is focused on fans in their 20’s but serious Seahawks/Nike WTF. I don’t know many 20-30 year olds that say the neon green is awsome… You take a perfectly good jersey and turn it into the Oregon Ducks 2.0 with 9 different variations? Like others have mentioned I will not be buying a new jersey with the neon green all over it. Who ever in Seahawks/Nike said lets put a lot of god awful neon green in the jersey maybe should of asked people outside the organization ie fans.

  43. beaver – I thought that too (most comments hate them, but poll likes them). Weird.

I don’t like them very much right now, but I do think they have a chance to grow on me, at least I hope that’s the case.

One thing I like about these is that it looks like we’re getting away from the ugly blue tops and blue pants. I didn’t have a problem with the blue jerseys with white pants or vice-versa, but I really hated the blue-on-blue.

  44. MadSweeney42 says:

I’d rather wear a Steelers jersey.

    Wait, what am I saying?!!?!

    Oh wait, it’s probably true.

Awful, though I reserve the right to revamp my opinion after seeing them live and in action.

    But really, they’re awful.

  45. Ewalters7354 says:

I love the wolf grey Jerseys a bunch!Sweet.I also like the new home uniforms. We are gonna look good kicking ass in those!

  46. JazBadAzz says:

I think some are set in their ways and most people on this blog are in the “pack mentality mindset” when certain people speak their views, others just coat tail.

Its funny how most other places I’ve been browsing love them, totally different demographic of coarse! i think most will love it when they can touch feel and see the brilliance that went into this revolutionary design! I love it, probably will buy all three colors. That teal was ugly and that lime green was too.

The charcoal grey could be my fav!

  47. jarred767 says:

I am not a fan at all, maybe they will grow on me once I see them for real, but right now, not at all. I would agree with the posts about the “feather”. I have never seen a feather that looked like that. I like the fact that they put 12 of them on the legs and on the shoulders to signify the 12th man, but still… The helmets are the best part in my opinion, but still.

And why are we the only team in the league that got this drastic of a change. It’s like we’re Nike’s test dummies!!

  48. The best way to get young people to buy your product is to get really good and they will be more likely to purchase your products. I thought we were already on that right track without the cosmic makeover?

  49. ohiohawkfan says:

They went overboard with the feather/tulip. A little here and there for the 12th man was fine, but too much. I do like the helment though. the feathered area on the helment looks like carbon fiber at a glance. I like the logo with the gray/silver, but I wishe they would replace the Nike symbol on the sleeve with the logo. Removing the logo from the jersey was dumb.

  50. Eric you are spinning the look. It’s worse than what you posted above.

  51. SandpointHawk says:

As woofu said the Feathers look like the tulips design I saw all over Holland, knew I’d seen them before somewhere…

  52. nwcolorist says:

When I first saw the picture, I thought it was a promotion for the latest KISS Concert tour.

  53. northendguy says:

WOW…these are totally BUTT UGLY!! What ever happened to the 70’s-80’s original uniform colors? These look like something from the arena league.

  54. Dukeshire says:

BTW, Why are the Seahawks the only team whose new t-shirts and caps not available on the NFL site?

  55. Waiting for the xbox logo (I mean Nike) across the chest. The feathers could be a tribute to Native Americans, if it wasn’t the color of my highlighter on the blue unis. That color will look fly with my jeans. This ridiculous uniform reminds of those people that put those goofy ass decals and spoilers on their cars, but forget to remove the dealer license plate frame, just tacky.

  56. I really like the new wolf-gray jerseys and pants, and I like the new white jerseys.

I’ll be happy with the helmets as long as they reduce concussions.

But what’s up with the dark blue? Did they change our old Seahawks blue (aka gun-metal blue) to navy blue? I can’t tell, but the new dark blue looks more like the Chargers than the Seahawks and that sucks.

  57. Dukeshire says:

Stevo – Yeah. They changed from “pacific blue” to a navy.

  58. rawdibob says:

Oh, WOW! Certainly what the players wear make a team. That must be why the SEALS found one person out of a few billion on Earth and eliminated bin Laden.

  59. Macabrevity says:

    New uniforms by Sega Genesis.

  60. “Whether you like the new uniforms or not, the game doesn’t change. I’d rather have a winning record in sweatpants than a losing one in silk”

    – Doug Baldwin.

  61. I care because I like to sport my team clothing and represent for C-Town, it’s annoying when they go to an extreme and now you have to walk around with a glow in the dark Nike emblem on your shoulder to match the reflective safety trim around the numbers. I guess I’ll be doing my shopping on Ebay for the old stuff, still looking for an old school Easley jersey.

  62. I like the helmet, but the rest is more about promoting Nike than the Seahawks. Oh well, maybe it will grow on me.

  63. It’s not “wolf grey” Paul, it’s Seattle Sky!

  64. Kingpear says:

If they win a Superbowl in them… I love them!

Otherwise, to quote my 10 year old…. They are meh!

Don’t love them, don’t hate them… just meh!

Also, I would have liked the weird design be more of a Carbon Fiber look than “Wings???”

  65. wallinator says:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion…..but these new jerseys are sweet!!! They are flashy & exciting….not drab and boring like the old school look – see Browns/Steelers/Packers……even the Bills and Steelers occasionally change things up for variety. The colors of these new duds are great! What’s so wrong with the Action Green? They didn’t over-use it like in 2009, it’s a great accent color. Nike & the Seahawks got this right! I would have liked to see the logo stay on the jersey, but the name is on there so that will work. Change is a good thing & ya’ll naysayers need to embrace it! I’m on the bus with Eric, Walter Thurmond, Kam Chancelor, & oh yeah…..Jermichael Finley who tweeted that the Seahawks have the Best jerseys……enough said!!!!

  66. I didn’t Finley was the official spokesperson for all things football?

  67. FairbanksDoug says:

I like the home, and the alternate options, but especially the alternate. I like the helmet as well.

  68. FisterReally says:

Chill out haters. Use the old imagination. I think their going to look great out on the field on a Sunday afternoon.

  69. seahawk44 says:

It is just a travesty that the logo was removed from the jersey. Other teams still have their helmet logo on their jerseys. But what makes it worse is that the Nike logo is in the middle of the green which makes it stand out way too much. Is this the Seattle Nikes?

  70. NisquallyHawk says:

I am liking the Gray uni for sure. I think if the 12 man were to give voice to return the Seahawk Emblem to the sleeve of the new unis, I think they would may just do so.
So give voice to your discontent and let them know we want our Seahawk Emblem back on the new unis.
Seahawks represent more than just a one city, they represent an entire NW region, and Alaska to some degree too! So put your discontent on paper, in an email, posted to a wall, but do put voice to it!
We are Seahawks, this is our Emblem, it represent our team, our region, and us as Fans! WE ARE SEAHAWKS, THIS IS OUR EMBLEM!
Yep, my two cent just hit the floor again.

  71. JazBadAzz says:

I guarantee these jerseys sell way more than the ones before this! I’m also going to bookmark this thread and watch how many guys change their mind when they see the seahawks take home field and the 12th man goes nuts! The hint of green whizzing around the field will look like mini lasers under the bright lights!

Their are so many fine details of the new unis its amazing! Cant wait til 4/15 to pre-order mines!

  72. jchawks08 says:

Ugh. Putrid. Congrats Nike. Or shall I say thank you? I will not be spending money on Hawks gear for the forseeable future. I’m 36 and in my humble opinion, fairly hip to the local culture and scene. This is seriously some University of Oregon B.S. Maybe 6-7 wins in a row will change my opinion, but for now… Good Gawd, the uni’s are awful.

  73. Mark this comment, we’re going to run out on the feild and look like a bunch of cartoon characters. We got two soccer teams now, yes.

  74. HarbaughsMother says:

Anyone think the Steelers would ever let Nike run stripes of tulips up their pant legs?

Like the Seahawks needed any more reason to be disrespected nation-wide.

This is selling your soul to become a corporate whore.

I’m not proud to be a Seahawks fan today.

    Quite the opposite.

  75. SeahawkFan12 says:

I’ll be interested to see the grey-on-grey look or the blue jerseys with grey pants. Still cannot get past the lack of Seahawk logo on the sleeves, though. And that stripe down the front of the helmet is hideous. Oh well, I still have my #12 “Pacific Blue” home jersey so I’m good to go!

  76. Pecksbadboy says:

New uniforms make up, for poor coaching, management and an all around a losing team.

  77. Love how the Swoosh is what pops out on the shoulder, not Seattle. How does everyone not see that, these unis, if anything, are whoring out the Hawks name to Nike, it’s distgusting. Even if you like the new uniforms, that alone should piss you off.

  78. mojjonation says:

Grey uniforms, really? It rains 10 months out of the year, and is cloudy for another month and a half. Are they trying to make everyone depressed by having these things on? Far to busy. NIKE logo = shameless plug. Everyone will just get used to them and NIKE will make some other type of Oregon derivation, or 50.

  79. Amen TruBlu

My vote to Seahawks HQ and Nike:
Bring back the hawk amblem on the sleeve move the swoosh to one shoulder as a small tag not a framed hey look at me we’re owned by Nike
    Boo on the swoosh

  80. seahawk44 says:

The Hawks are NOT the Seattle NIKEs!!!

  81. ohiohawkfan says:

Now…on to what really matters….So what changes (if any) have been made to the Sea Gals uniforms?

  82. I hate all this Nike crap. It’s become more about their marketing then the team. Not every one wants their team to look like a bunch of rag-tag gang bangers.

And why the F does a team called Seahawks now have a grey wolf theme? What’s that? A bunch of old horny guys in Depends?

  83. I think the navy looks a lot less smurfy than the last blue… Although kelly jennings and josh wilson had a lot to do with the smurfyness.

  84. nidhighe says:

Fugly. May be the worst uniform in the NFL now.

  85. oscar_contender says:

Out with the old, in with the NEW! Welcome to the future gentlemen, as I hear all you say, I really think the gray jerseys are the BEST in the league, and these are better for the younger fans. I give them a thumbs up, and being in the entertainment industry, I know a thing about fashion. Just remember how awful they looked in lime green or the blue on blue look? These are a huge improvement. As someone pointed out, it really seems like Seattle “fans” like to complain about everything, but look at the votes and you will get the answer. Sorry, we ain’t going back to the 80’s hahaha welcome to the 21st century. Let’s go hawks!

  86. surelyyoujest says:

I rather like the whites and greys, and don’t mind the blues. The helmits are ok….really like the logo update.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder guys. Eric is right I think, as you’re going to get a different reaction from the players (who wear them) and younger fans than perhaps some of the….er, more mature posters here.

Who knows, after seeing the boys on the field some of you might change your tune.

  87. yellaman says:

Great changes in Jersey I don’t know about helmets though

  88. Mystary27 says:

So far…yuck! Guess I’ll have to wait to see them in action.

  89. I feel like this uniform is too compromised… Either you go all out with something new and crazy or you go traditional, safe.

We went half-way and ended up with a mixed up mistake of a uniform.

Helmet: I don’t like the “stripe” with feathers, but if the whole helmet was what the stripe is, it would look textured with Native American feathers and I would love it. Or you just make it blue, no stripe and stay traditional.

Jerseys: Regardless of color, the block coloring on the shoulders is bad – should have the logo. Specifically, the blue jersey with huge green triange is horrid (the green was perfectly used on previous version, enough to make you see it as a “Seahawks color” and allowed for players to augment it with gloves, etc). Now the green is too pronounced and overpowers the whole thing on the home uni. Green should not be used to outline the numbers on the white jersey’s either, it washes out against the white and just looks ugly. I kind of like the block stripes on the front of the jersey with the Seahawks name and would have put the nike swoosh opposite the Seahawks name in the block on the front right shoulder. A backside block would have been ok too, but stopping before the sleeve to allow for the Hawk logo on sleeves. Or to go traditional, just keep the jersey pretty much untouched – I thought it was good enough, maybe tweak the color darker if the Seahawks blue was getting old.

Pants: White and Grey are ok, I can even deal with the Native feathers up the side, but the Blue ones with that green just stealing the show is rough on the eyes, it just looks cheap. I think the smaller feather style used on the numbers and helmet would be cool in a blocked out shape (similar to how Hawaii uses the tribal stuff in their striping).

So, my 2-cents worth in a really big nut shell.

  90. What else to expect from the most miserable sports city in America? You have to look like men to play like men. Seattle is sooo feminine. Just another national embarassment.(our motto)

  91. rramstad says:

Season ticket holder for 14 years.

“Seahawk logo replaced by Nike corporate logo on jersey?”

This was my exact first thought, reviewing the images.

I think there are some cool things here and there, and they might look good on the field, but I’ll never buy one.

I’m REALLY offended that there is no Seahawk logo on the jersey. It’s wrong. As another poster said, are we the Seattle Nikes?

  92. Tarcat88 says:

I don’t like that the only Seahawk logo is on the helmet. It has the Nike swoosh prominent, but not the Seahawks.

  93. do not like

  94. Why are so many shocked that the swoosh is on the sleeve? I think it’s wrong and ugly but did you think Nike was paying all that money and wouldn’t put their logo on the uni in a prominent place? But not having the logo on at all is a problem for fans–they only wear the jersey (well the normal ones that is) and now the only attire that is prominently purchased has no logo on it.

I’m just glad the alternate jersey is not that puke slate gray that has taken over college jerseys–the only thing uglier in all of college sports is the Ducks home court.

  95. lisagayle says:

I like the new look. Even the neon green. No other team uses that color and it makes the uniforms unique to Seattle. I like the blue jersey with the white pants the best. I really think that the 12 feathers are a great statement that the Seahawks love their fans as much as their fans love them. I will always support the Seahawks no matter what their uniforms look like and even if they are having a losing season. After all, isn’t that what a true fan does??

  96. Shattah206 says:

Nike is so obviously an Oregon company and hates Seattle with a passion . . . nothing else can explain those ridiculous “tulips” that I have come to understand from the comment thread are supposed to look like wings or feathers or something. And I liked the “Pacific Blue.” What’s so interesting about navy? UGH! Like I said, lots of teams needed an update WAAAAY worse than we did. Those Ducks are just rolling thinking of what they’ve accomplished here.

  97. Shattah206 says:

I guess I should say rather that they are “quacking up”

  98. guiltybystander says:

They could’ve saved the drumroll…these unis are a total snooze. Thank you, Phil “Mister Sweatshop” Knight. I’m sure this is one more step to buying your way into Canton the way you just did in Springfield.

  99. Never seen that neon green before, I could of swore there was another team in Seattle with that same color.

  100. jaybrank says:

I hate the feathers on the helmet and the textured numbers. Looks too much like Oregon’s uni’s, which I think are awful. I’m not crazy about the number phont either. Overall, the totem pole effect is OK. It has a Pacific Northwest look. I’m sure it will grow on me, but I’m not going to buy one.

  101. skystyler says:

hideous colour scheme. and why blue jersey with blue pants? or grey with grey for that matter. Bring back the royal blue, dark green and white jerseys with grey duds.

  102. Why does Paul Allen have an obsession for neon green? The only place that color belongs is on a highlighter pen.

Although I like the new logo and the shoulder block, Nike’s insistence on displaying their logo inside an Iphone bubble on our sleeve is unforgivable. Of course, it wouldn’t be half as bad if you took the green away and just had a white background. Even still, it’s clearly a move by Nike to feature their logo over the Seahawks. Every Seahawk fan should be angry at this.

As for the new patterned typeface on the numbers, it’s nearly as ugly as the neon green, which of course surrounds it as piping for a glow-in-the-dark effect we didn’t ask for. But yet again, Nike had to do something different to make their new uniform stand out from Rebook’s. Did they just have a bunch of ‘yes’ men in the room when these things were in pre-production stage? Why didn’t someone stand up and shout at the top of their lungs, “Neon green is ugly!”
