It’s not everyday you see a 300-pound offensive lineman telling you what the weather is like in Bellingham.
But that was the scene this week, as Seattle Seahawks offensive guard John Moffitt joined the set of KCPQ Ch. 13 to publicize the fact that the team has moved all of its preseason games to that station in a new, five-year agreement.
All preseason games will also be re-broadcast on its sister station JOEtv. Q13 FOX and JOEtv have been named the official TV partners of the Seahawks. Read more about the agreement here, and check out Moffitt doing his best weatherman imitation in the video below.
Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel writes that that Seahawks free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove is officially joining the Green Bay Packers.
Salary cap guru Brian McIntyre reports that recently signed Seattle offensive tackle Frank Omiyale’s one-year deal is worth $1.225 million, with a base salary of $825,000 and a $400,000 signing bonus.
Pete Carroll continues his scouting tour of developmental quarterback prospects. Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Carroll, general manager John Schneider and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell are in Phoenix to watch ASU quarterback Brock Osweiler throw. Carroll likely is there to watch ASU linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who he recruited out of high school while at USC. Burfict reportedly ran a 4.8 40-yard dash, much better than the 5.09 he ran at the combine.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders has Richard Sherman among the best cornerbacks in the league according to his charting stats.
Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports compares the possibility of the defensive line-rich N.Y. Giants losing Osi Umenyiora to the Seahawks losing Steve Hutchinson in free agency, and recommends the Giants pay the disgruntled defensive end to keep the team’s strength in tact.
Matt Bowen of the National Football Post breaks down Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson’s ability to throw outside the pocket on boot action, one of the staples of Seattle’s offense.
Moffit is a funny guy, would love to attend a BBQ and drink some brews with him.
Really hope the Hawks keep clear of Burfict, strikes me as another Curry. not to mention ACiB was a tolerable handle where as VBiB just doesn’t flow as well.

Isn’t Q13 the channel that broadcasts those terrible Seahawks post-game shows? The ones featuring texts and comments from only the most clueless of fans?
I hope Q13 steps it up this year. They need a REAL pre-game show with hosts who know the Seahawks. They should hire Williams and Boling!

I’m so freakin Proud of Richard Sherman! A guy I coveted and mock-drafted for the Seahawks and was So Jacked when the actually drafted him. To think that an athlete like this can be drafted in the 5th round really gives me hope that we are going to once again have a number of amazing young players coming to the Seahawks this year.

I love Sherman! I’m a Husky and Gator fan for life but you have to love Stanford athletes and the philosophy of the school in general, brains before brawn. and when the 2 meld into a pro caliber athlete? look out!

So no more Moon and Menefee and Silvi and Strong. Wondering if they’ll have any legitimate former Hawks as insightful talking heads.

Mach1na: I believe Moon and Menefee were hired by the team, so they will not necessarily go away. Also, for those of you who live in Oregon, Hawks preseason games will be televised on the FOX affiliate there in Portland, Medford and Bend, and on My TV in Eugene.

I know somebody already posted this but man “Can’t wait!” for Grudens schooling these QB’s coming into the league. Just watched the excerpt from Luck and man does he nail him!
@STTBM awhile back you posted Pro Football Outsiders as a source of outside the box stats. Thx I had already gone there to try and find the info I wanted but I still appreciated the heads up.

Danny O’Neil has a copy of the new logo up, it’s got the old Seahawks gray in it. He says one source has the Seahawks with a third jersey, a “gray alternate jersey.” I guess we will see it on Tuesday.

I don’t see a copy of any new logos. He merely describes it, unless it’s in another article than what’s on the Times.

SandpointHawk – I’ve been banging that drum for years myself, and totally agree.

I like how O’Neil refers to it as going back to gray. They had silver, not gray prior, Danny…

NFL Net just reported that Miami only offered Flynn $4M/year, meaning Seattle’s offer was nearly twice as high. They quoted Miami’s GM as saying they were “very comfortable” with the outcome.
Miami is probably just blowing smoke after being outbid and outmaneuvered. But in the end it looks like the Seahawks may have offered more to Flynn than they had to.
Its okay with me though, since TJack is a bargain at $4M and I think I’ll like both our QBs this year.
