From what I saw, Carpenter is that bad at pass blocking. Didn’t like the pick when it was made and thought it was a reach unless they intended to go to a power running game, which they didn’t. If he improves this off season, great, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I too would LOVE to see Hasselbeck come back and mentor a young qb–my pick would be Cousins. I cant stand the idea that Matt may be available and its likely JS and Carrol wont be interested. For Pete’s sake, Hass on his worst day with our new team is better than most of Jackson’s games.

Matt was looking really good the first half of the season in Tennessee, even with no running game, only one really good WR, and an ultra-conservative coach who let a couple games get away by not letting Matt throw the ball in the fourth quarter with a lead. And he still finished the season pretty well, without much of a run game and without Kenny Britt.

The ego thing with JS and Carrol will keep them from bringing Matt back. Damn their hides. Im seriously gonna barf if we end up losing out on all the qb FA and let Matt end up somewhere else and go into the season with Jackson as the starter. Baaaarf!

Carson–I wasnt calling Nighthawk anything. But he has posted some pretty wild political rants before, so I can guess some of his thought process on that last comment. I love reading his comments, and when he keeps it to football, he’s pretty well informed and passionate, if highly opinionated and more than a little caustic. Not unlike some others of us on the blog

i think if the topic is retreads, tatupu would have been the one it went with. hass to seattle is a moot point.

smith is better than tjack, 17-5 td/int ratio from the qb position and we would have made the playoffs.

Georgia, I get where you are coming from and agree to a point. I also believe that Matt would see a 1-to-2-year window here where he could play out his career, mentor the QB-of-the-Future and retire at “home” (he still has deep roots in Seattle).

I’d also rather see him than Alex Smith because 1) He’s a better QB and a better fit than Smith and 2) That means Mannign landed in Tenn and not SF.

Then next 24 hours should be interesting!

I feel sorry for Smith, whatever respect I had for Harbough as a coach will be completely gone if he and the organization do not resign Smith. I think Smith is a great person, and I admire his toughness and the way he’s fought to stay as the starter, I might not like him as a player, but still, the way Harbough have been treating Smith and then all of the sudden Manning is in the mix? It might be the name of the game, but no one deserves that kind of treatment.

Sorry if I offended you oh mighty Nighthawk. The Miami owner is an A$$ Clown who keeps the organization in a constant state of drama. If you spend sometime on the Miami blogs you will see the posters also call them the Fins, Phins and Fish Eaters. Yesterday they were having a field day with Philbin vs Filbin and Flynn vs Phlynn along with Fins vs Phins as in Flynn to the Fins and Phins win with Phlynn. You may even find major fan sights called the Fin Heaven or Fins Nation….. Looks like Google will give you about 5,500,000 results (0.10 seconds)for a “Miami Fins” search….So if I double clutched my N and that offends you…I’m so very sorry Mr NNighthawk….

First off James Carptner is a Guard not going back to RT that Breno position now..

Matt Hasselback coming back: I give that 20 perecent chance.. When he was Free Agent last yr, Seahawks said no thank & went & signed horrible Jackson to 2yr deal..

Does anyone here think David Hawthorne going to come back to seattle? Last time I check on kffl.com that Saints brought him in & don’t know if he left the state by now..

Free-agent QB Matt Flynn (Packers) reportedly wants to sign with the Miami Dolphins, but the team is low-balling the offer, thinking he will take it just to play for Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, who was his former offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.

The San Francisco 49ers signed free-agent WR Mario Manningham (Giants) to a two-year contract Saturday, March 17. Terms of the deal were
