I wonder what the stats are for the 2nd half of the season. And how the Seahawks stack up against everyone else.

If we don’t turn the ball over more than once, we win this game at home. Tavaris needs to step up because Lynch may have trouble against their defense.

Seahawkfan78…that’s a very good question because this is not the same team that started the year.

It’s kinda crazy how close these stats are to each other.

Other than points allowed, penalties, and turnovers, it’s nearly a wash. The problem is, those are three huge differences. They have 17 more takeaways, yet have moved the ball nearly the same amount, and have still given up roughly the same amount of yards. I see it as, they really don’t capitalize on turnovers. They just take away your chances and pretty much squander their own.

Greenbay and New England are #31 and #32 in total defense. Wow! That just shows(imo) how great qbs can overcome a teams glaring weakness and still be a very good team.
So much for the theory that I have bought into, that a team needs a top ten defense to go anywhere in the playoffs.

Yeah, those days are over (for now at least). In the modern game, a defense has to be just good enough to give the offense an opportunity to win it. And with NE and GB, holding teams to under 30 ought to do it.

I am excited to find out how our boys do against their first “real” opponent since Baltimore (also at home). The Rams are utterly worthless which was two easy wins and the Bears had one of the worst QBs I’ve ever seen in my life not to mention a month long losing streak and the Eagles were still in the midst of their own worthlessness. Give us credit for doing what we were supposes to do though (beat inferior teams, minus Sexy-Rexy and the ‘skins). It seems we finally are going to get to see ourselves play a worthy opponent and I’m especially excited to see how they respond. This game, whether we win or lose, is going to tell me a lot.

Well didn’t come out as planned but do a little cyphering and you can see the numbers Hawks first and SF second. this is the last 7 games for each team. 2 things stood out to me SF run defense is markedly better in the second half. Seahawks have improved TOP with the run game

Palerydr- Thanks for the stats! You can be our stat man until KlM008 comes back.
We were also minus-1 in tunovers in the first half compared to + 9 in the second half.

It feels so great to see that we are tied for 13th in pass defense. Its not great, but it’s so much better than what we have seen in recent years with Jennings at the helm of starting CB opposite Tru. This defense is refreshing, and the thought of adding an elite pass rusher, makes me dream of possibly becoming the most physical defense in the league. Good things are happening with this team!

As always, Just wait until next year! LOL but really, this team is looking outstanding right now and this fandangled Schneider/Carroll combo seems to know exactly wtf they are doing. Happy to be a ‘Hawks fan. Now about this QB situation… Tarvaris I like you.. You’re a good man and a good player. But you’re not great. And we need someone great to lead us back to the promise-land.
I trust the aforementioned dynamic duo will act accordingly in our need for a great QB. GO HAWKS!

the big difference between our stats and theirs are points allowed and turnover ratio…thats the tale of the tape. If we allowed almost a touchdown less a game and had 17 more turnovers created we would be right there with their record.
