The Seattle Seahawks rebounded nicely from a tough loss against Washington last week by defeating a talented, but wounded Philadelphia Eagles’ squad 31-14.
Seattle was solid in all three phases of the game, but this one belonged to Marshawn Lynch, who finished with a season-high 148 rushing yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.
Lynch ran over, around and through Philadelphia defenders, helping Seattle improve to 5-7 on the season.
Seattle quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was solid, finishing an efficient 13 of 16 for 190 yards and a touchdown, and most importantly, no interceptions.
With Sidney Rice done for the season, second-year pro Golden Tate finally played up to his immense potential, finishing with four catches for 47 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown pass in the second half.
And Seattle got another gem of a performance from its defense, with linebacker David Hawthorne, safety Kam Chancellor and Brandon Browner corralling interceptions.
Browner had two on the evening.
Hawthorne ran his back 77 yards for a touchdown with 4:24 left in the game.

That was the most fun game I’ve watched all season. We continue to see us winning the line of scrimmage more than we’re losing it and we’re seeing some of the young guys continue in their maturation. I cursed Golden Tate on the first play of the game, but was thrilled to see some of the things we only ever seem to hear about him in practices. Lynch has always been a beast but now we’re actually seeing this much more often now that he’s getting some blocking. Boy, this defense is going to be special once we can add another pass rusher. I thought, overall, pretty much EVERYONE had a good game for the ‘Hawks. Sure, there were some boneheaded plays (like the opening play) but the overall quality of work is improving and that’s the nicest thing to see. Sure, we could say the Eagles are pathetic but I don’t think that’s fair to say due to the growth we’re seeing from our own players in getting better. Our players need and deserve credit more than us saying “the Eagles suck.” Fun win!

Was Okung hurt with 1:57 left or simply removed from the game?

great game

And with the bye week coming up (Lambs at home), we’re 1 win away from .500. I never would have thought that this year. Whether we get to .500 or not, we’re on the right track. Sure, some things need to get cleaned up, but tonight is about being happy and proud to be a Seahawks fan and beating an East Coast team that the media gives too much credit to.

I seem to remember some people thinking Lynch should not be the featured back.. Is that true or am i delusional?
and what about the people calling out Tate? These guys just need some discipline and they can come thru.
granted this was an eagles team that is in turmoil right now..

I love it when the nfl network guys all pick the other team.
(NO Saints)

Awesome win. Looks like just about everyone had a good game, and really love the way Browner responded to a bad week last week. Tarvaris hung in, though I would like to see him get rid of the ball sooner. But I have to say I respect his toughness; the dude is a warrior.
And of course, Marshawn is a BEEEEEAAAAASST!

Does Tjack fit the Carroll mode?
No turnovers?

And I absolutely LOVE the 5-for-30 penalties. THAT is freakin’ great.

Hate to spoil the party here but the Eagles have given up on this season! I think we can win next week against the Rams however after that it will be a dog fight!
7-9 would be fine!
8-8 would be great!
9-7 would be heaven!
Go Seahawks- make it happen!

Big plays on defense + power run game = a win. T-Jack came through with a few nice throws and didn’t turn the ball over (he still held the ball too long at times, though). Penalties were greatly reduced.
Too bad Okung suffered a shoulder or arm injury (according to Sando). Hopefully, it’s not serious.
Tate needs his head in the game. Great touchdown by him, but he really should have known he was supposed to be on the field for the opening play.
I remember a lot of people last year complaining that Lynch took too many hits in the backfield, but now we see what he can do with good run blocking. His first TD? I could have sworn the play was over, and then he came flying out of the pack to score. Give him a new contract already!
Browner now has 3 INTs in the past 2 games, and reduced his penalties this week. I think we’re set with Sherman and Browner for the future. Trufant should be gone next year, and Thurmond can provide depth.
Was that Pete trying to run up the score like in his USC days at the end?

Cool win for our team. Man, the performance versus screen plays is troubling though. Nice to see the penalties reduced. I gotta be honest though, for a minute it looked like we were going to blow another game in the 4th quarter. That poor pass by VY saved our bacon.
Right now I’m just irritated at the losses to the browns and last week vs redskins. I knew we’d really come to regret the performance against cleveland. But oh well, this year is an investment in next year. Here’s hoping we get a qb, pass rusher, and a backup physical RB

and OMG at the bad sacks TJack takes. Man that’s getting old, even in spite of my low expectations for the team this year.

fire carroll/tate/lynch.. smart..

oh yeah, Tjack too. Nevermind he’s been hurt.

just watched the Carroll post-game w/the NFL Network guys. remembered again why I’m on board. the guy knows what he’s doing, and players want to play for him.
what a fun game to watch. lynch playing the best ball of his career, he seems to have gotten quicker and faster w/out losing any of his strength.
bummer about okung.

catch of the year by Tate too – pretty as it gets.

Sounds like the Eagles took a cheap shot at Okung, and he injured his pec.

The offense has beast mode. but I think our D is earning the name ” I don’t think so! Bitch! mode.”

just watched the Okung play, it looks like okung blocked the Dman into the 2nd layer and let up after the play was over. then #58/59 body slammed him..

What a game! I’m just going to enjoy the heck out of it and not worry one little bit about what it means for the rest of the season. 5-11 or 9-7, I don’t care. This was awesome.

I don’t care what any one says! critic away, our game was not perfect but the fact is the “dream team” came to our house and we whopped’em good!!
I am in a euphoric place atm that will probably last until monday morning, maybe longer.
So instead of trying to over think it i am just going to hit you tube and put No Doubts “Hella Good” on repeat and just keep on dancing! until bed time that is.

Lol, Soggy. You’re right, there is a lot to critique here but that can wait. That was a hell of a lot of fun.
Tate’s TD was the first sign in nearly two seasons now, that showed (me, anyway) he can be a true contributor. That was a great catch.
Lynch was awesome last night. He runs so hard and just won’t give up on a play. And he also did a great job picking up a couple blitzes. Love me some Bees Mo.

The guy may be weird as heck, but I sure wouldn’t want him on an opposing team!

I fell asleep right before halftime. You just know it, the first game of the season i didn’t watch & it’s a blowout win……………

Lynch gotz him sum skittlz.
That is going to be running on every sports show on the tube for a while. That should be ABC’s new “Thrill of Victory” video shot. everyone on the planet, including Vegas, picked the Eagles to win. No Vick, No DRC, NOMNOMNOM-D ASAMWAH was hurt, but we were missing the right guard and tackle for our O-line, and that’s where we owned. Morrah made Babin his B&TCH on those cut back plays.
I’ll save the complaints for next week. Good to see them bounce back after giving up 17 in the fourth last week. Well earned rest for all.
BEAST MODE ROLL M!@#$%F^&*(R!!!

Lynch is awesome. I love his eccentricities. (Actually, I love his effort). I’m so glad he’s getting the carries he should have been getting all season.

Makes me sick to my fucking stomach that Okung is most likely done for the year because some punk took him out with a dirty move AFTER the play was over.
Okung, Moffitt, Carpenter – Rookie or 2nd year OL all (possibly)out? That really kills what we have going with our run game right now.
Hoping for the best with results on Big Russ. But it didn’t sound good according to Pete Carroll today.
