The Seahawks placed rookie offensive guard John Moffitt on the season-ending, injured reserve on Tuesday with a knee injury that requires surgery.

And with a vacant roster spot, Seattle added offensive lineman Paul Fanaika. The Arizona State University product went to training camp with Seattle and began the year on the practice squad, but the Seahawks cut him loose last week to add receiver Patrick Williams.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll indicated earlier this week that Lemuel Jeanpierre and Paul McQuistan would get first crack at replacing Moffitt, but Fanaika also played some right guard during exhibition play.

  3. Tavaris will be fine, we’re playing the Rams. Not saying it’s going to be a cake walk or that we won’t lose (Cleveland?), but T. Jack will make it out just fine. I’m thinkin’ he might even have another 300 yd game baby. Go Hawks.
