  1. SandpointHawk says:

    Hells bells

  2. PC is going for Luck.

  3. mike98541 says:

another catastrophic call by pete. why, pete, why? 1 t.o. left, falcons were on their heels, you call a 61 yd FG? im pissed. Pete destroyed that game. you all may disagree but nothing anyone says will change my point of view.

  4. Well, pretty good fight by our boys out there – no shame in that loss. I don’t fault Carroll for going for the kick on 4th and 8. Though if I knew they were going to go for the kick, I would have liked them to get even a couple yards on the 3rd down, since they had that time out.

But hey – great 2nd half. O-line pass protected well, and TJ had by far his best game as a Hawk. Would’ve been nice to get to 2-2, but that was a good comeback effort for our guys.

  5. “why, pete, why? 1 t.o. left, falcons were on their heels, you call a 61 yd FG? ”

He must have felt our kicker could make it from there based on what he’s seen – and 4th and 8 is far from a sure thing for our offense. Gave us a chance to win.

  6. Dukeshire says:

klm – That’s an idiotic statement.

  7. Cornutt says:

Bummer. Closer than I thought it would be though, and some encouraging signs of life from the offense.

  8. Dukeshire says:

mike98541 – What are some, or even one, of the other catastrophic calls by Carroll? I’ll wait for your answer…

  9. _uckshire… a 61 yard FG need luck. You should zip it. Get another mouth freshner, smell like locker room rags

  10. Ewalters7354 says:

That was the right call by Pete.It was 4 and 6 with 13 seconds left. You guys cry over any and everything smh…glad to see the Hawks compete. We are definitely moving in the right direction.

  11. Dukeshire says:

excile – you are a moron. 4th and 8. Had they gone for it and not gotten there, you of all people would be the first to criticize Carroll. Based on the circumstances presented, kicking it there was their only reasonable option. You have no idea what you are talking about.

  12. It sure looked ugly in the 1st half – unwatchable, sad, wait-til-next-year time – and then for the second time this year, we came alive in the second half. It’s not a win, but it’s at least something positive to take out of a game against a good team.

Loved the O-line passblocking. Really improved.

And btw, yes we scored soon after, but can you get unluckier than that Zach Miller TD turned into interception?

  13. And excile, if you’re going to blast someone so bluntly (which he didn’t deserve) have the brains to at least write your post correctly. You’re more effective insulting someone when you don’t look like such a jackass yourself.

  14. No.. idiot. not my decision. if I thought he could make it, kick it. But the record is 63 and we’re talkin’ 61.. 13 seconds left on 4th down with time outs left and 8 yards to go. Could have gone deep/mid middle and sat on a time out or end of play.

Criticize? No problem here with either call. Just you bro!

  15. rynehawk says:

Well, I have to admit Jackson didn’t play badly today. He made a few good throws. Its the 4th week in a row that as a whole, the team played better. Lots of positives coming through even with the loss.

Feels like the ship is definitely headed in the right direction.

  16. Ciggy . please explain then STFU lol

  17. pabuwal says:

    Jackson was brilliant today.

  18. Yeah, Grimes gave up a TD to Rice cause he thought the play was dead.

Second half T Jank got the ball rollin behind a line that looked solid for 4 qrts.
Brilliant… like a brain dead patient in coma sending out a bleep.. in’ signal

  19. Dukeshire says:

excile – It was 4th down, dumbell. You don’t pick up the first, timeouts mean nothing. And he had made one that would have been good from distance in pre-game. But please continue…

  20. GeorgiaHawk says:

Oh well, looks like the Rams are a legit shot for Luck!Lol. We can still follow Hasselbeck! Remember him?

  21. GeorgiaHawk says:

Exile is right on this one Dukeshire! 61 yards is a reach, but if we had even a competent qb then it would have been a 41 yard field goal!

  22. The offensive line continues to get better… gotta love it. That part of the blueprint is working itself out well.

What the heck is up with a guy like Doug Baldwin? Didn’t he get the memo that rookie WRs shouldn’t be overly productive right away and that you don’t hit your stride at a high level until your third year? I know there’s always an exception to the rule, but he’s sick (in a good way).

  23. Dukeshire says:

I’m not saying it was a reach. It was. But it was 4th down! 4th DOWN!!! Get it?

  24. “What the heck is up with a guy like Doug Baldwin? ”

And, he should’ve had the flag on that nasty helmet-to-helmet, where he held on.

He’s a very nice addition to the team. Catches everything.

  25. Dukeshire is right that if we go for the 4th and 8, and don’t make it (odds say we wouldn’t), then Carroll gets criticized for not giving us a shot to win.

Again, he’s the one who watches the kicker in practice and knows his outside range – seems like a reasonable judgment call to me.

  26. you talkin’ pre game? 61 yards? how many over 50 have you seen in your extended life time, dinosaur?

After the first they could have used a time out to position the ball.

It you catch an 8 yard pass in the middle and drop to the turf untouched does the clock stop? Need call a time out, eh?

  27. An explanation? I’m talking about your spelling and grammar I suppose. 61 yard field goal NEED luck (needs luck). Mouth freshner (freshener). …SMELL like locker room (smells like locker room). I mean do you really talk like that? Maybe you do and therefore don’t recognize that you sound like a poorly educated ten year old. I know one doesn’t need perfect English to post anything here -my point is that if you’re going to insult someone you want them to take you seriously don’t you? If Dukeshire had said something stupid maybe that’s a little different but he had a perfectly valid view point. Anyone who didn’t think Atlanta would’ve been ready to flatten any 4th and 8 play is not thinking too far ahead.

  28. shoot… bettr put way all my rap record… old E, cause ciggy in the house ya’all

  29. pabuwal says:

Personally, I am trying to look at the positives of the game and the bigger picture.

But then again, myself and Pete Carroll might be the only ones in Seahawks nation who think Jackson might just be the QB of the future.

A stud RB and a quality starting CB opposite of Trufant would have made this a completely different game.

I look forward to watching the Seahawks in person next week and for them to even win a game I attend.

  30. Now I’ll STFU as you put it

  31. I don’t think it was a bad call by Pete. He obviously thought that the kicker could make it. If it was a fourth and short, then I’d fault him. But fourth and long, it was an okay call. Just wish Rice had not false-started. That really hurt the offense.

This game left me more encouraged than the win last week. If Jackson can play like today, the Seahawks could pull off a few upsets this year. He certainly has some weapons at WR and TE.

  32. “Jackson might just be the QB of the future.”

He certainly played like a guy who has a future in this league. Let’s hope he keeps it up.

  33. anyone who thought a kicker was gonna make a 61 yard field goal … come game time … how many over 55 have been made.. over 60 attempted… STFU Ciggy. you and him are … again… can i get a boo rah.. @#$% but ciggy please, oh please, carry on

  34. pabs – have fun at the game next Sunday. I’m going to the Nebraska-Ohio State game in Lincoln on Saturday and will be watching the Hawks in a bar in Omaha on Sunday (before coming home on Monday) so it looks like both of us will be missing from the blog next week. Gotta get away every once in awhile!

Note to everyone else — that means if “bobbyk” shows up on the live chat, you know it’s not the real one. lol

  35. “A stud RB and a quality starting CB opposite of Trufant would have made this a completely different game.”

Yeah, Browner can really tackle – seems like ther ‘s a role for him on this team – but he’s not a guy who can cover high level receivers. And that defensive holding on him, there was just no need for it on that play.

  36. pabuwal says:

Going to Seahawks games is generally not a happy time for me. I have not watched a victory in person since 1993, a streak of 9 games and 4 different stadiums. I haven’t gone to any games in Philly, because its not worth risking my health.

  37. GeorgiaHawk says:

Yes Dukeshire I get it ! 4th down. A down where most competent qbs have a better then 50% chance of making a 1st down! And where competent kickers have a much less chance of kicking a 61 yard field goal!
Now do you get it that we are going absolutely no where without Hasselbeck? And no where near Luck?
We could easly be 3-1 in this division, and in command of this division, however now we are a team without a qb!

  38. ……………….C/ATT.. YDS.. AVG… TD.. INT.. NFL RATING
    T. Jackson 25/38.. 319… 8.4…… 3….. 2 ……….96.3

TJ looked the part in the second half. Even one of his worst critics will give him a pass until further notice.

  39. GeorgiaHawk says:

TJ looked better because they finally got smart and put Baldwin in more! Baldwin will be on the all rookie 1st team this year!

  40. pabuwal says:

Just imagine how those numbers would look if Miller did what he was paid to do.

  41. He had a fine game. I don’t view him as a guy who can eventually take a team to a Super Bowl (or at least be a big reason the team makes it) but he did well, as I said he’d have some of these type of games before the season started. He is playing better than I thought he would though (granted, my expectations were low) but it’s not changing my tunnel vision for Luck or Flynn.

pabs – I had a buddy I met when I went to school in Lincoln (only went there 1 year, out of state tuition kicked my butt and finished up in MN) and met a guy named Dennis who was from Philly. He worked as an usher in the old vet and during a Cowboys game he noticed a Cowboys fan cocking off some Eagles fans and then Eagle fans getting riled up in response… he went up there to help calm the storm and then woke up in a hospital. That’s all he remembered, but he has the scar on his head to prove it. lol

  42. Not that much of a mystery – first game TJ has time to throw, and so he is able to find a rhythm, and make throws. Was happy to see him use his feet and gain some yards when needed – seems like he hesitates more than he needs to in doing that.

But we all know the deal, better O-line play leads to better QB play. It’s not like Hass suddenly got younger, he just has a better line protecting him this year.

“A down where most competent qbs have a better then 50% chance of making a 1st down!”

Better than 50% chance on 4th and 8? Seriously? In what league . . .

  43. pabuwal says:

Philly fans reputation is well deserved – I want them to lose as much as I want the Seahawks to win each week.

It’s great that when the Seahawks win on the east coast, they do it there. Too bad I wasn’t there to see either win.

  44. MadSweeney42 says:

    pabuwal,
Pete doesn’t think that TJ is the QBoF. That’s why he’s on a 2 yr deal. He’s a Placeholder of the Present.

  45. Pabs? Miller is for the most part kept in blocking. not his call, fault

Imagine if the LB’s had made a stop at the goal line.
Tru made an INT in the first half.

  46. pabuwal says:

So its OK for Miller to drop that TD that turned into an INT?

  47. BobbyAyala says:

That was a crap call by pete. there were 16 seconds and a timeout left. You get the completion for a first down, call timeout, then win the football game.

You don’t go for the miracle.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Also stupid was not reviewing Miller’s catch at the endzone, he crossed the line with possession. That was a touchdown.

  48. On the Fg:

    1. Wonder if Mare would have made it?

    2. That penalty hurt

  49. GeorgiaHawk says:

True pdway- I stand corrected! 50% would be for elite qbs. Now a 61 yard field goal attempt in Seattle of all places at 0 elevation is plain dumb!
Maybe in Denver, but not Seattle.

  50. I’ve also been wondering why they didn’t add some time back on the clock after the review at 41 seconds. Shouldn’t the clock have been rolled back to the end of the previous play?

  51. pabuwal says:

I watched that Chicago game and its clear Mare has lost a lot of leg strength.

The officials spotted the time correctly at 41 seconds.

  52. natedog says:

Excile, if it wasn’t for RADEoN and ACIB, you would take the cake for the most clueless poster on here. Do you ever make a GOOD point???? Must be few and far between if ever. You’re always reliable for a good laugh though. What I like about this blog is that there are a lot of informed posters on here unlike the usual forum full of the BS drivel that dribbles out of your mouth. It’s good to have a little of your ignorant garbage to remind us what the average fan thinks though.

“Miller is for the most part kept in blocking. not his call, fault”. WTF does that have to do with his dropped TD that led to an INT????????? Can you actually READ?????? Had that been caught it would’ve made TJ’s numbers even better. That was pabuwal’s point, if you were LITERATE you might have understood that.

Georgiahawk, in what fantasy world is there a better than 50 % chance that any “competent” QB makes a first on fourth and 8????? The same fantasy world where more than 1 out of 10 of your posts make any sense???????????

  53. natedog says:

Ayala, you must’ve not paid attention very well during the game. They reiterated the fact after the Roddy White and Doug Baldwin incompletions were confirmed that you must retain possession to the ground or make a football move. Miller did neither. No touchdown. I am the first to jump on the officials but, you just don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Look for something else to whine about comPete for.

  54. I will whine about ComPete for something – I am getting VERY frustrated about the fact that for LONG periods of time in games we look TERRIBLE. The first half today we looked like a college team! If we could have played competent in the first half of this or the SF game we could be the team that is 3-1. I totally understand mistakes etc, but not being able to do ANYTHING for like 2 quarters is just plain crazy!!

Blowing 2 TO’s on Defense since you can’t get the right number of guys on the field. Could have changed the complection of the last few minutes

The defense gave up first downs on 3rd and 8 OR LONGER 4 out of 5 times today. Maybe 4 out of 6. One of those was the Penalty. Which I have seen more Holding and grabbing out of Revis tonight in one half than I saw on Browner in that one play – still think he is getting “rookie” calls

The False start Penalty on Rice was Killer at the end of the game. While seeing it live I am not sure it was, no benefit of the replay at the stadium.

And did anyone notice that after KJ Wright totally missed on the short TD play that Curry played a majority of the 2nd half

  55. GeorgiaHawk says:

natedog- your getting a little beermotional on us don’t you think? Yes you are right that 50% completement rate for a competent qb on 4th down is a stretch, however I stated that correction before you could put down your beer and read it!
Now what are the other 90% of my posts that make no sense to you?

I don’t think anyone on this blog claims to be right 100% of the time. Certainly not me. However you appear as if you like to wait like a sniper in a tree to pounce upon some of us!
Well I’m going to shoot you out of your little safe tree by asking you to actually start contributing to this blog. Is that too much to ask of you?

  56. natedog says:

I have contributed plenty Georgia, if you we LITERATE AND HAD ANY NEURONS STILL FIRING YOU MIGHT KNOW THAT! All you seem to do is whine about this or that. I want Hasselbeck. Wah wah wah. Get out of your myopic bubble, son.

  57. natedog says:

All fair points xcman. I brought up the timeout situation in the most recent thread. I’m not saying Carroll shouldn’t be criticized. Just that there are much better things to criticize him about than the FG call. All in all, I’m glad we lost and I hope we lose competitively the rest of the year. I don’t think we are ready to make any noise this year, even playing our best, and another year of backing into the playoffs with no shot and drafting in the 20′s will set us back like last year did.

  58. post yourself nate dog.. u lil wuss

    show u’r self arse clown…

    what I thought… wuss… now go away….. clown

  59. GeorgiaHawk says:

natedog- Tell me it’s the beer because at one time I actually thought that you had some football intellect?
Wow! Sometimes this Blog goes downhill after the game.

  60. Atlanta looked to have built an insurmountable lead… decided to set on it and the Hawks made a comeback. Gave nate dog a woody. Shouldn’t get that boy excited.

  61. natedog says:

Excile, excile. How’s life in your momma’s basement you 40 year old loser?????????? You wouldn’t want me to show myself to you because I would beat you like a drum, son. Just go back to whining and posting your nonsense. It’s what you do best. You’re not even a fan. You’re just a pessimistic little loser that harps on everything bad about the team because you have nothing good or of value in YOUR LIFE. Have fun loser

  62. My. Your like a woman needing a hit of Midol.
Did you just attempt to get me on a couch and listen to advice from a pathetic lil squirrel?
Really squirrel. let others see you for what you are. absolutely f’n nothin. cuz’
    show up r’ shut up

  63. natedog says:

What do you mean by show up??????

  64. natedog says:

I’ll be by your mom’s later wiping my cock on her chin if that’s what you mean?

  65. GeorgiaHawk says:

Eric- I think one flew over the cuckoo’s nest and landed on this blog.
