I have no problem with it. You don't see Dustin Pedroia stop trying after he signed his deal a few years ago. And if you sign some moron who will stop trying after they have signed their big deal --- then I think that's on you for being too dumb for not researching that player enough to know he was a character risk (or didn't genuinely love the game enough).

I understand your point but I doubt that any of us would feel too good if our employers came up to us and wanted to significantly reduce our salary. I realize that he hasn't been a Pro Bowler for the past couple of years and that he's had injury problems to boot. However, he did give his heart and soul to this team so we shouldn't be too willing to throw him under the bus.

In '09, Heater talked about how most injured guys kind of go away, but Lofa was right there with him trying to help. That's special.

Last year Lofa could barely walk, it seemed at times, and he played. This was evidenced by having surgery on BOTH knees right after the season.

I understand why the 'Hawks asked him to restructure. I do. But I also understand why he chose to not accept it. I don't know the final numbers or anything, but I wonder what the 'Hawks were offering? That could help sway my opinion.

They can say it was "mutual" all they want. When they are asking for a cut they are giving you 2 options. give us money back or get cut. He chose to stick by the contract they offered.

it is the nature of business - but you don't see the teams rushing to renegotiate with players when they WAY out preform the contract they have. Amazing how when a player wants to renegoiate they teams get uppity and angry but when they want to reneg on a contract and the player says no, the team cuts them.

Not that I don't think that sometimes it has to happen but it is never fun

We need to talk....

Lofa didn't get cut!! He was asked to restructure his contract and he quit. He bailed on the SeaHawks rather than take a pay cut. We can debate whether he was worth 4.6 million (did I remember the number correctly?), but he didn't get cut.

Olin Kreutz is a 13 year vet, is double tough and a natural leader, but is way past his prime and is NOT a nice person. I really hope he does sign with the 49ers.

Welcome back Bobby! I believe you will enjoy looking back on these last few days....

Hass & Tats moving on, that part isn't easy.... but PC & JS have put some great 'competition' on the field....

Except for Special Teams, most notably the FG kicker that is often game breaking, IMOHA, I see us better than last year even before we fully mature... A bit optomistic, but on paper & video.... mmmmm.... not bad.... We're lookin forward to your inputs....

Georgia --- Rice is the real deal. No question. In all honestly, I am simply amazed at some of the plays that he can make. He's not a 4.3 burner down the field, but he does have the speed to make some plays down there though. His best asset is the ability to play physical and make catches that normal human beings cannot make whether they are high, low, or whatever. I've seen a lot of him since his rookie year when he's played and I love that guy! I'm so HAPPY that he's finally on MY team!!! Call me Mr. Happy, if you want (do not call me Mr. Happy when talking about our QB situation).

The biggest (not only, just biggest) difference between the great Favre of '09 to the mediocre Favre of '10 was the lack of Sidney Rice for a majority of last year (hip). In no way am I saying that Rice made Favre (Favre has had a great enough career for us to know otherwise).

However, I am saying that Rice made Favre better. Just as we can assume that a player as great as Favre made Rice better, too.

Rice won't be able to duplicate his '09 numbers with our current QB situation, but he is great (at least I don't think he can duplicate those numbers with our current "quarterbacks").

I think Okung and ET will get there soon, but no current Seahawk besides Rice can legitimately claim to be one of the top 5 players in the NFL at his respective position. That's how much I think of Sidney Rice.

Switching Gears --- How does Santonio Holmes get a bigger contract than Sidney Rice? I thought better players were supposed to get bigger contracts?

OBTW - my Sidney Rice Seahawks jersey has been ordered!!!
