I think a lot of fans are underestimating how important Curry is to the defense. He may not be the explosive playmaker we hoped he would be as a number 4 pick but he is darn good at defending the run. He is strong and does not get pushed around, not to mention his rush ability in passing situations. He may not get the sack numbers but he affects a lot of plays positively for the defense.

Bobby K: That's the best post I've seen a weeks! We tend to think that we should be able to force our will on other teams. I want to trade our practice squad for Payton Manning, so Indy just has to do it. Oh, and I want Indy to pick up the pay difference too. I want to trade down in the draft. Oh please God, make somebody give me six or seven second and third round picks for our #25 pick in the first round. Yeah right!

Yeah. It's pretty clear that we cannot go into the season with only Charlie Whitehurst. I think Matt will be brought back and he'll be excited to actually play with an offensive line with some talent and a decent running game. He's going to eat teams up with his play action fakes and we're actually going to have a much, much better offense this year.

I think we'll see some plays made by Golden Tate, too.

It's going to be weird for John Carlson this season. He's actually going to be able to get out and run some patterns, instead of babysitting terrible offensive linemen who can't pass block very well.

I'm excited to watch an offense that isn't going to get pushed around anymore. I'm not expecting anything unrealistic like a top 5 type of offense, but it's going to be so much better than we've been accustomed to (assuming Matt comes back and we bring in Gallery, like we think will happen).

The added offense is going to do wonders for that defense. Even if we didn't get an impact defensive player in the first two days of the draft, I expect the defense to be better simply because they aren't going to be forced to be on the field so much anymore. Whether they are going to get a few leads to play with or the offensive line opening up holes so we greatly improve our time of possession, it's going to be fun.

Anyone else imagine the possiblities of trade bait we now have? Just random thoughts but with picking up a new LB with great Speacial Teams ability, what do you think about Aaron Curry and Jennings packaged with a pick or two for Kolb or Palmer?

I can easily see Will Herring jumping into a starting role and flouishing. And Thurmond is due to start trhis year at cb imo. Just a thought. Probably other possibilities too.
