Wow. Has Warren been hitting the sauce again? I don't know Nawrocki or his personal beliefs, but when I read his comments originally, while they were a bit harsh and perhaps unfair I didn't presume they were rooted in racism. I think comparisons to Russell are based more in the fact they both played in the SEC and have questions about their attitude and off-field decisions. We didn't hear / read veiled criticisms about McCoy and Bradford's intellect (although both coming out of spreads) because neither stole computers, were expelled for cheating and have questions about demanding money to play at a given school in their backgrounds.

To put it another way; why are we not hearing these same things about Colin Kaepernick, if these comments are based on race? Perhaps it's the person and not the ethnicity that's at play here.

(And by the way Warren, you're not doing Newton any favors here. You ought to be trying to deflect any controversy surrounding the player you're "advising" leading up to the draft. I'd call you an idiot, but that might make me a racist in your eyes.)

Probably isn't so much to grade Locker down, but to grade up everyone else. Did anyone think Brady, a 6th round pick, would become a three time superbowl champ and MVP? Doubt it. It's all about where you go, what you have to work with, and who works with you.

MIchael Lombardi from NFL Network had some interesting things to say about Locker's workout; For one, he noted that Jake threw primarily shorter routes and the few deeper throws were between the numbers. The only two deeper balls outside the numbers hit the ground. And while he had only two incompletes, several others were put in questionable spots. He also noted that Carroll and Ruston Webster (Tenn) were the only two "decision makers" there. Everyone else were area scouts, which he thought was unusual based on how much attention Locker has received. He hinted that wasn't a good sign regarding what teams think about him, at least as an early round (1 and 2) prospect.

Charley Casserly went on to say that "... a high school senior should get an A with that workout."

Hard to know if they are knit-picking or if his workout was conservative to the point where scouts will grade him down a bit.

Not sure how he knows which QB has THE ATTRIBUTE. We once thought Rick Mirer had it. He was supposed to be the second coming of Montana.
