Looks like former CFL star Ricky Foley, released by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, found a soft landing in the Big Apple. Foley’s agent, Paul Sheehy announced that Foley has been picked up by the New York Jets.
A focus of the NFL Network’s “On the Fringe” segment, Foley now finds himself a part of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
Foley had worked out for New York Jets in April. He’ll likely play outside backer in the Jets’ 3-4 scheme. New York also had injury issues, with outside linebacker Calvin Pace suffering a foot injury
Good for Ricky. He’s definitely better suited to being an OLB in a 3-4 Defense than he was as an end in a 4-3.

Agreed. Seemed like a good dude, hope it works out for him.

Your a funny dude, snydro. Sorry it has taken me so long to realize that….and now you are headed to Bismarck. We’ll still find that beach someday.

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Hawks have traded Josh Wilson to the Ravens for a conditional 5th rounder.

Adam Schefter says
“Ravens get the CB they’ve been seeking: Baltimore traded a conditional fifth-round pick to Seattle for former Seahawks CB Josh Wilson.”
I thought Wilson had incredible ball skills but zero coverage ability. In my mind, he was part of the problem with the secondary. Jennings has amazing coverage ability but zero ball skills. Which one is better?

No way. Josh Wilson is a gamer.
Hate this move.
And Clayton is reporting a SIXTH round pick for him. Wow.

Clayton looks to be in the minority. Sando is reporting it is a 5th that could become a 4th.
Looks like it will likely become a 4th too, with Ozzie Newsome all but proclaiming him a starter opening weekend against the Jets..

Starter is the wrong word – guaranteeing playing time (taking snaps) is more in line with what Newsome said.. I wonder what the conditions will be.
I know the Hawks like Thurmond and Lewis, as well as Trufant and Jennings, but Wilson had value on Special Teams as well. Also, he was feisty and actually overachieved, unlike the rest of our squad.
I’m stunned.
It better be a 4th round pick when all is said and done. The condition better be that he stays on the 53 man on all year (excluding injury).. We are getting absolutely nothing in return for 2010. No matter what, we just got worse, for this year.
