Well over 4,000 miles in 9 days… lots of news to look over…
Not that it means anything, but about 4-5 people I talked with in Tulsa, OK, at a minor league baseball game last Wednesday didn’t think too much of their own Russell Okung. From what I’m reading (just got back and seeing the vague headlines before actually reading them) I’m starting to wonder about him too.
Got your email, Duke… alive and well (just tired)…
williambryan – I think your number is about 20-25.
Duke – the guy I talked to who seemed the most informed (also a OklaSt grad/season ticket holder) thinks he’s “too slow” to be a great NFL LT.
Stevos – you’re right. It’ll be determined by how he does on the field. Not what a bunch of hicks and bloggers (I’m one of the hicks) think. We all want Okung:
1. In camp.
2. To have a great career (in Seattle).
I’m a Coug and I hate to say this, but was out at practice on Tuesday and thought Isiah Stanback looked pretty good. How’s he looking the grand scheme, do you think? Also, from what I saw, there’s Matt, and then there’s everyone else. Hope Charlie and JP are learning from him.
He talks about pass rush problems. I hear everyone saying Bryant is looking good though. It sounds like their scheme will have to be very aggressive, with a lot of blitzing. Bryant will take on two blockers so the linebacker can get the quarterback. Is this what they will have to do to get to the quarterback? Always sending extra guys?

There he is! What were they not impressed with, in general?
The hang up with Okung seem to be the length. He wants 5 years, ‘Hawks want 6 but they don’t want to pay the asking price for the 6th.
