A few programming notes. I’ll be taking next week off to burn some vacation time, but don’t worry. Ryan Divish will be filling in to keep you informed and entertained beginning on Monday.

The Seahawks will take the next 10 days off, and then get after it again starting on June 7. I’ll have a full report a day later from the team’s OTA workout.

Also, Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will be appearing on the NFL Network from team headquarters on this afternoon’s NFL Total Access, which begins at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.

For the second year Fox Sports’ Adam Schein ranks every organization in the NFL, taking into consideration things like the team’s owner, front office, head coach, coaching staff, the quarterback and intangibles,. This year Schein ranked the Seattle Seahawks 20th overall.

Here’s what he had to say:

“The Seahawks facility is beautiful, and the fan support is excellent. And I believe in the new brass with GM John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll. But if Charlie Whitehurst is the answer at QB, I’d love to know the question.”

Check out Schein’s full breakdown here.

Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com reports that safety Lawyer Milloy has been working with the first unit this week.

Rod Mar of Seahawks.com offers these pictures from this week’s OTAs.

The folks at Helmet2helmet.net hosted a 30-minute chat with general manager John Schneider.

Matt Bowen of the National Football Post continues his Inside the Playbook series with a look at Tom Brady and Randy Moss attacking the Cover 2 defense.

Les Carpenter of Yahoo Sports profiles Cleveland president Mike Holmgren’s move back to the executive chair. Carpenter covered the Seahawks for the Seattle Times when Holmgren was with the team.

You’ve probably seen this already, but rookie receiver Golden Tate does his best impersonation of Taylor Swift in the video below. The video was taped while Tate was in Los Angeles with several other rookies shooting photos for their rookie cards.

Tate was a little sheepish last week in answering questions about his singing abilities.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports picks Marcus Trufant as the most overrated Seahawk and Brandon Mebane as the most underrated player for Seattle in this list for all 32 teams in the league.

More Prisco: Apparently Prisco is not sipping the Peter King Kool-Aid, as he ranks Seattle 25th overall in his first NFL power rankings of the year.

Sport Illustrated’s Michael McCann offers an interesting piece on the battle between the NFL Network and cable companies that could affect your viewing this season.

  1. Dukeshire says:

Alright Eric, enjoy your time off. What have you got planned, anyway? A little golf? Sleeping late? Travel? I swear to God, if you say yard work I’m calling your wife.

  2. Golden needs to concentrate on his football career and put his singing on the back burner.

  3. Dukeshire: All of the above.

  4. Dukeshire says:

Yard work is for the birds. That’s what your kids are for.

  5. pabuwal says:

Since the straight man of the Williams & Divish Duo will be away, I expect Divish will keep us entertained rather than informed.

  6. Dukeshire says:

Um… Has anyone heard about this. Lendale released?

  7. footballscaa says:

I see the Hawks have been overrated again. Prisco seems to have a better grasp of what the Hawks really are.

  8. Ehm, that would be a huge surprise if it turns out to be true, if he, White, is released that’ll mean Julius is better, wow.

  9. I saw that Lendale piece too just now – that would a pretty weird development to happen this quickly.

If true – I wonder if he just looked terrible at the first workouts. I suppose I’ll believe it if/when it’s confirmed.

  10. BobbyAyala says:

O’Neal’s reporting White is going to be released on a link I found on my iPhone.

Apparently the team posted an online release and then rescinded it.

  11. BobbyAyala says:

The timing is awfully interesting with the release. It must have had something to do with his attitude, because Carroll said he’s in great shape.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that’s the reasoning, we’ll never find out though, if it is.

Julius is def. a more effective runner though, that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone here, even the Jones haters.

  12. BobbyAyala says:

This could just be a big mistake.

Kind of like Danny O’Neal himself.

  13. pabuwal says:

These guys are like Dan Snyder, but instead they are running a Fantasy Football team of mediocre players vs high priced has-beens!

It’s becoming a joke at this point.

  14. BobbyAyala says:

Wow, tell us how you really feel, pab.

    Couldn’t disagree more.

  15. he sure did seem to fill a need – we don’t have any other big backs on the roster, do we?

And as another poster said, by all accounts he showed up in shape. Maybe he’s just not any good anymore. Strange timing for sure.

  16. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawksblog/2011977397_lendalewhiteandthepressreleasethatdisappeared.html
White had been missing some team activities due to flooding in his home town, and he needed alotta work to catch up with the rest of the RBs.

Even though he’d lost alotta weight, he was the heaviest RB on the roster.

Use a FB in goalline and short yardage?

  17. Well, this will probably indicate that the organization believes in Forsett? I like White, but if he is released as it would seem, then Forsett will get more playing time which I’m all for, and Ganther would probably be the short-yardage back then?

  18. BobbyAyala says:

If Owen Shmitt can’t handle short yardage situations, ship his ass back to Transylvania.

  19. nighthawk2 says:

I’m just waiting to read “Julius Jones released”. Got the champaigne on ice for that one.

Never heard of Adam Schein but since he has something to do with FOX network I know he has to be a douchebag. So who does he have ranked higher? Pittsburgh? The organization that gave us Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes? Washington? That was interviewing a guy on Jim Zorn’s staff to replace him (to satisfy the Rooney Rule) when Zorn was still coach? Dallas, a team with upstanding citizens like Michael Irvin and Nate Newton in it’s history? Yeah, Charlie Whitehurst, the #2 guy on the team, is such a terrible QB compared to stalwarts like Matt Leinart, Chad Henne, Kyle Orton, Trent Edwards and that thoroughly proven guy Sam Bradford.
