  1. that is very cool, he is one of my favorite Seahawks, so I hope I can find the time to participate.

  2. Audible says:

    Sando who?!

  3. Dukeshire says:

Pistol!! Nice work Eric, I cannot wait. He’s one of my favorites, for sure.

  4. snydro81 says:

I’m going to ask him if Favre plans to retire or not, because I can’t find that information anywhere else..

Actually, I’m really curious about what he says during games to the opposing players. He is always “jawing” and I always wonder if he’s really talking trash or if it’s just good-hearted back and forth. I love it, because he’s usually the smallest guy on the field.. I wonder if he goes back and forth with Housh during practice, lol..

  5. rollo73 says:

We should all congratulate him on being the only DB who could play over the last two seasons.

  6. chuck_easton says:

Can we ask him to sing “We represent the lollipop guild…”? :)

Just kidding he’s as tall as I am AND he has the skills to play pro-football. I wouldn’t want to mess with him.

  7. oceanic says:

I’d like to ask him if the secondary will use a different scheme this season.

  8. pabuwal says:

He would be an incredible WR – he has skills that remind me of Steve Smith.

But his strength is definitely not playing man to man, bump and run coverage.

  9. bird_spit says:

I would like to ask him what the 2010 win/loss record will be. And if he does not say 16/0 then we need to send him back to the Pete Carrol School of Optimism.

  10. Dukeshire says:

“But his strength is definitely not playing man to man, bump and run coverage.” – I completely disagree. Of course taller receivers will give him some trouble (as they do nearly every corner), but he is very physical and I think he’s much stronger in man than zone. In fact that’s one of the questions I’m going to ask him tomorrow; if he’s looking forward to playing more man this season. I’m more concerned about Tru in man than Wilson.

  11. SeahawkFan12 says:

    Interesting move:

I remember hearing that we were interested in him before, so we’ll see what he can do…

  12. monmornQB says:

I have to admit that after all the trash I talked about his game he really proved me wrong last season. He was about the only good thing going for the Hawks last season. He and Tatupu also seem to be the only good things Ruskell did why he was driving our team of the cliff.

  13. snydro81 says:

“I might catch you off guard, like my hand my accidentally slip and jam you in your throat. You have to do those type of things to just let you know that I’m here.”

    Awesome.

  14. snydro81 says:

Eric, I’d like to challenge Josh to a race. I’ve got a Honda Accord. If I take the car-seats out and lighten the load, I think I got him.

  15. lol, I think he got sort of mad at me. Anyways, it was an awesome event, you are the best Eric!

  16. MattandCindy says:

    Eric,

It was awesome to see all those questions answered. Wilson is a stand up guy AND a lockdown corner.

Maybe next time you’ll put a limit on questions so everyone can get at least ONE in. I watched for an hour and sent at least a dozen questions…not a single of which were posted. We’re all fans and each and every single one of us deserves a chance. Of course I’d watch the whole chat for any player on our team, even if I didn’t get a question posted. It would just be nice to see at least one. Thanks for everything you do.

  17. Dukeshire says:

I liked that as well. Lol. Eric, that was great, thanks again for setting that up. Who’s next…?

  18. Audible says:

    “Who’s next?”

Well, it seems Leroy Hill has time on his hands these days.

  19. ruminator1 says:

I was logged on and followed the live chat with Josh Wilson. I had several questions which I attempted to post, but none of them showed up. I am assuming that the questiobns were ok (they had to be at least on a par with those that asked about butter or sugar on grits etc. one was on the impression McCoy was making and what problems he presents for defensive backs, another was to compare various aspects of the quartebacking of Whithurst and Hass from the perspective of a defensive back) and I am guessing that someone, (Eric?) vetted out which ones were to be answered. But I’s like to know for future live chats. I did follow Tribune instructions with regard to cookies, so I doubt that was the problem. As for the chat, for the most part, I thought it was really good. I liked especially Josh’s confidence and his desire to make big plays, to have the opportunity to do so in spite of risk. I loved the input from the more knowledgeable commentators on the technical aspects of different types of coverage.

  20. BobbyK says:

It makes for great reading, but couldn’t break free for any of the actual chat. Hopefully next time.

I find it interesting when he talked of Mr. Happy and his culture of winning, whereas the previous regime didn’t have that previous credibility of winning. It’s true, and it was a gentle jab at Mora. That and the fact that he feels his DB coach is a lot better this year.

  21. Dukeshire says:

For what it’s worth; I simply think it’s a matter of so many questions coming in. The sugar or butter on grits question was probably submitted only a minute or two, at most, after Josh’s comments but posted 20-30 minutes later. I think if you were posting questions more than have way through, they simply ran out of time. I can’t imagine this was anything intentional.

  22. hawkdawg says:

Can’t access the transcript. Just a black screen…

  23. MattandCindy says:

    Exactly, Duke…

Which is why there needs to be some sort of limit on how many questions you can submit. If you don’t get one in in the first few minutes, your screwed. I saw the same names over and over and over again. And I’m sure ALL of us would like to ask at least one question.

  24. Hey fellas,
The player has the final say on what questions he will answer, along with a Seahawks staff person on hand. Wilson did not want to answer questions about the team’s offense today because he does not play on that side of the ball. So that’s why a lot of the questions about Charlie Whitehurst and other players on offense were not answered.

So I have no control over which questions will be answered.

Hawkdog: You might try Firefox if you’re having trouble seeing the transcript.

  25. Dukeshire says:

    MattandCindy – A reasonable suggestion.

  26. ruminator1 says:

Thanks Duke. That makes sense. I have a question: The Hawk’s signed a list of free agents immediately after the draft. Since then they have added several people and, apparently only dropped a few. I looked up most of the original list on the net to see what the attraction was. In some cases, there was little information (like a tackle from Southern Miss), in others I could see “potential.” Are most of the original list still with the team? Do they have any kind of contract?

  27. Dukeshire says:

I can be difficult to know why teams are attracted to certain UDFAs other than the the scouting department of the singing team has identified something of value in them. Need, potential, etc… Information on many of these players can be hard to come by as most are from small schools or small conferences where national coverage and in depth analysis is scarce. Of course, there are players like Legarrette Blount too, where there is all the info in the world. So there are a lot of variables. The contracts vary as well, although I presume most are for the league minimum which I believe is $325,000 for a roster player and $5200 per week for practice squad players. Teams are limited to an 80 player roster but there are ways around that prior to training camp with non-contract “try out” players etc… Anyway, hope some of this helps. Eric may be able to clarify further.

  28. Soggybuc says:

I was sorely disappointed to learn he uses sugar on his Grits. everyone knows butter is the way to go.

  29. Wish I’d asked JW if the ump moving to the other side of the LOS would make his job a little easier at slot.

  30. . . .err, nickle

  31. MattandCindy says:

    klm008-

Swear to god, that was the first question I asked. Which was about 13-14 minutes in to the chat. I felt like a kid at Christmas…so excited about receiving my answer. When it never came, my faith in the world was rocked, to say the least.

(Everything is true except the last bit.)
