Former Seahawks safety Deon Grant, who the team released two weeks ago, could find a landing spot with the New York Giants.
Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Grant is in town visiting with the Giants today, and a deal could be in the works soon. Even though New York just signed Antrel Rolle, they could still use more depth at the back end of the defense.
Grant, 31, was due to make $4 million for Seattle in 2010, and started every game during his three-year tenure with Seattle. Seattle only has two safeties on the roster with Grant gone, Jordan Babineaux and Jamar Adams.
KFFL says Sims will sign his tender today so he can be traded.
Seattle will go into training camp with at least six at safety.

One of the biggest issues last yr was the OL.
Hawks go all out in pursuit of a QB.
I just love the strides they’ve made this off-season to make the OL more competitive and NFL worthy!
Still have the draft–better see a 1st rnd pick devoted to the OL! But, I doubt it.
Some good news:
W. Jones can actually walk to McDonald’s now! Maybe they think he’ll start after all.

Variable, I share your frustration but it looks like PC will do a Ruskell band-aid fix on the O line. Look for more 08 and 09 problems there.

If the sign D. Grant, Will we get compensatory pick in 2011 draft? Or will we only get compensatory picks for free agents, not people we cut????

Hm…………….. Grant is good enough for perennial winner NYG, but not for new perennial loser hawks……
don’t know if I can get much more negative about the PC regime………..

yankinta – Comp picks are awarded for players lost in free agency. Grant wouldn’t qualify, unfortunately.

When Grant was here, fans complained the position needed to be upgraded. Now he’s gone, and fans think the sky is falling.
Let’s be honest, Schneider believes in building through the draft and keeping a team young, and this is not a reloading for another playoff run this is a rebuilding.
