According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, the Seahawks could be shipping offensive guard Rob Sims to the Chicago Bears for defensive end Alex Brown.
Sims is a restricted free agent who has not signed his fourth round tender and apparently is not in Seattle’s plans moving forward. Sims might be a better fit for the Bears’ offensive scheme.
Sims was a favorite of former general manager Tim Ruskell, who is rumored to be joining Chicago’s front office. Sims had been part of Seattle’s plans moving forward when Ruskell was still with the team.
Brown, 30, has 35½ sacks since 2004. But the Bears signed Julius Peppers in free agency, making Brown expendable.
