  1. ElPerroGrandeIII says:

The 3 major problems with the Seahawks are all pretty obvious:

    1. Owner (Allen) = Could care less about W’s and L’s. He is a disgrace. I wish he would sell to someone who cares. Absentee owner means crap organization (every single time).

    2. GM (Ruskell) = Worse GM in NFL history. Could easily be upgraded by hiring Matt Millen. First sentance of resume reads: “succesfully dismantled Super Bowl caliber team and quickly ruined franchise”.

    3. HC (Mora) = complete joke of a hire and coach

  2. Dukeshire says:

The problem with that rumor is that it’s nothing we don’t already know. We know Ruskell is in the last year of his contract. As an organization, they don’t negotiate contracts until the old one has expired. This wouldn’t figure to change for the GM. The only thing here is the “rumor” that Holmgren has expressed interest in returning. Where? What source? Florio and Schefter always seem to put out rumors with no substance behind them, in essence creating their own stories to “report” on. Regardless, if that means Ruskell is ushered out, then I couldn’t care less how superfluous their reports are.

  3. Seahawks2620 says:

I don’t see any kind of scenario where you can have Hawthorne and Tatupu not on the field next season. If you are to keep both next season, then you have to find a way to play both. Whether it’s switching to a 3-4 or not. Tatupu is too smart not to play, and Hawthorne brings the nastiness. You have to find a way. You rarely see Hawthorne not rapping up his guy, while you see Curry flying by guys all the time. Curry is a beast when it comes to strength but he is showing why he is a rookie. Hawthorne has definitely lived up to his name the heater. He stopped AP yesterday in his tracks while AP was in full force.

  4. Dukeshire says:

Totally agree. That will be another big offseason decision; how to make that happen. He and WIlson are the surest tacklers on the team. They get their hands on you, you’re going down. And yes, that was a great hit on Peterson in the 1st quarter. His play has been the nicest surprise about this season. He’s a stud.

  5. With Hill set to earn $6 million and us having a lot of holes, I can see where Hawthorne is switched to the outside and plays in Hill’s current spot. Remember, Hill didn’t get the big signing bonus that usually accompanies a long term deal (from the idiot pot smoking incident). This could open up money to add help at other positions and so dang much money wouldn’t be used on our LBs… again… While I don’t condone letting good players go, Hill seems to be overvalued and overpaid for what his production warrants. He’s certainly not a top 20 LB like many thought prior to the season. I also really liked what Herring did when he played for Hill. He may not be quite as good, but he’s a better value for the buck.

  6. ElPerroGrandeIII would be mad if we ever won the Super Bowl. Then he wouldn’t have anything to complain about.

  7. mkelly534 says:

If Ruskell is to return next year, he needs to be DIRECTED to address the O-Line and QB positions first. Also he should have the O-Line Coach, who has a very good rep, work with the scouts to make sure they get good scheme and talent fits. If Paul Allen is going to be focusing on getting healthy then Tod Liewieke(sp) needs to make sure that the GM, whom ever that is, addresses the base needs of this franchise.

We are in danger of alienating the fan base which is where we were when Paul Allen purchased the team. We need some good decisions right now to save the future of this team.

  8. The frustrating part about the OL thing is that this is what the fans were screaming for a year ago this time and we only added a complimentary player in Unger (sorry, Duke, stole your word).

We can’t have another off-season of simply hoping a token will fix the OL. We could use another token, yes, but we NEED a centerpiece added to the line too. Whether that centerpiece is a FA star RG like Evans or it’s a franchise LT like Okung (I can’t say for myself that he’s as good as advertised, but for the moment I’m assuming he is)… that’s only a start. Getting 1 player is NOT going to fix this line entirely. That’s where another token like Unger needs to be added, whether it’s a second tier FA OL or a 2nd round OL pick.

  9. BobbyK…. apparently you are going out on the limb to say our LB’s will be ALL healthy next year??? With our new aggressive defensive coach, the risk of injuries will be much, much greater….. That’s a key element…

  10. Dukeshire says:

Agreed. But what players they take are all conjecture now, so it’s difficult to project, this far in advance. Despite that how about this: Let’s say Okung and Suh are gone (likely) by the time their 1st pick comes, where do you go? Someone like Bruce Campbell (Maryland) or Trent Williams (Oklahoma) by all reports are NFL ready and could step into LT at the start of camp. Or do you address the DL in this position (pick 6ish) with Gerald McCoy (DT, Oklahoma) or Carlos Dunlop (DE, Florida) waiting until later in the 1st to address the o line? Both areas are great needs but I feel if they go o-line first that allows them greater flexibility with their 2nd first rounder. Someone like Jahvid Best (RB, Cal) or even CJ Spiller (RB, Clemson) would be very tempting. Or then address the d line with Greg Hardy (DE Mississippi) or whomever. But if you address the d line first I think your then tied to taking a o lineman at the end of the 1st. No flexibility. So for me, not only is the o line the greatest area of need but if you’re comfortable with whose left after Okung is gone, you have to pull the trigger. For what it’s worth…

  11. Where did I say anything about LBs being healthy?
