  1. this thing doesn’t work!!!!

  2. ParadisDL says:

Wow… we were beatin in all facets, including coaching..

  3. The 49ers beat us up pretty good (in a bad way).

We are without our best defensive lineman, our most important LB, and another starting LB, our best DB in Trufant and also our second best CB. This sucks. No matter what, injuries aside, we got manhandled today and I don’t think 1 player here or there would have made a difference. Having Tru or Wilson in the game doesn’t excuse getting smashed in the mouth on both lines of scrimmage.

Holding breath on Hass… How bad is it? Would have have really fallen down if it were a rib? That seems like an injury that is back related, as the pain runs down your spine and makes you collapse. Our FO has proven to be liars about injuries, so even if they come out with an official word, we still won’t know if it’s his back or not (unless they come straight out and say it’s the back and he’s out for the year).

Championship teams have winners that constantly make plays. For as bad as we played, if Burleson can make that catch he’s paid to make — the game changes and we’re in business. Instead, he gets alligator arms and Wallace throws a pick. It’s a tough play, but winners make those plays.

Add Babs being a starter into the mix, our OL sucking (getting asses handled before Lock went out too), and that’s not a good recipe.

If we can get relatively healthy… I still think we can/will have a great year and will kick San Fran’s butts when they come to Qwest. Sometimes it’s good to lose and this isn’t the end of the world (unless Matt is done for the season).

We can manage with Seneca but we’re fooling ourselves if we think he can take us to the Super Bowl.

  4. Seahawks2620 says:

ugly game. I am actually not as pissed off as it would seem I should be because we lost this game because we shot ourselves in the foot like 5 to 10 times this game. As BobbyK mentioned, if Burleson makes that catch it’s a different story. If Frank Gore doesn’t bust out for those two touchdowns of 79 and 80 yards then it’s possibly 10-9 instead of 23-10. If Kerney just drops on that fumbled ball on the twenty yard line instead of trying to pick it up then there are some points there. So many things that we did to ourselves that caused us to lose. You can’t take away from the intensity that the forty niners played with, but we killed ourselves pretty badly today. Hey one awesome thing to look at is LAWRENCE JACKSON!!!!!!! He was phenomenal. 4 tackles 2 sacks and a forced fumble, I know it’s only 2 games but that is 3 sacks and the seahawks seriously have to consider getting him more playing time. He was the only getting pressure on the QB. Kerney was lucky that Hill was feeling generous and felt like giving him a sack.

  5. The 49ers are the better team talent wise and coaching and the likely division champs this year.

Anyone guess the common denominator in Gore’s big rushing games against the Seahawks? He doesn’t have these kind of games all the time against them even though it seems like he does.

  6. Seahawks2620 says:

It felt as if Hasselbeck and Seneca were being pressured the whole game yet the niners only got 1 sack. The O line is doing pretty good at protecting them but they are not opening any holes what so ever for the rb’s

  7. Face it, We got beat by a better team today.

  8. Yes the Seahawks JR VArsity got beat by a better team. You guys just dont get it. Not only were our starters out, the guys who usually give them breathers were forced to play starters minutes, and we had no quality to give them breaks. Over all Seattle is a superior team when healthy. Right now we are not, and may not be at all this season. The Niners should be ashamed they only won by 13.

  9. I disagree that the 49ers are more talented. Right now… yes. But if both teams are at full strength I think we’re more talented. Of course, us EVER being healthy doesn’t happen so it is what it is. And what it is sucks. Why can’t we have an injury situation like the Steelers had last year, when they started 20 of their 22 opening day starters in the Super Bowl.

The 49ers definitely outcoached our coaches today. I’ll give them props for that.

As we all suspected in the off-season, our OL isn’t anything special. How many bad snaps did Vallos have in the game today? I lost count after 2 (which is two too many).

  10. How can you be out-coached by coaches who have their starters healthy! you can’t. Our coaches are better. No doubt. We just do not have the talent healthy right now. You put two healthy teams out there we win 9 out of ten.

  11. What was up with all the 3rd and long conversions and letting them catch everything underneath, I thought we got rid of Marshall, but it looked like he was calling the defense again. Why were we letting them catch everything underneath. We were playing from behind, but are D looked like we were playing back letting them catch everything in front, WTF. I thought you do that sh t when your leading? Why weren’t we using screen passes or slants to Housh and Carlson. ???????

  12. Play calling was ridiculous, we were out coached.

  13. TruBlu?
    See above for multiple reasons.

  14. Offense and Defense

  15. nidhighe says:

SF’s front office beat our front office. SF’s players are tough and physical. How many of our players would you really describe that way?

  16. We had no LT on offense for 3/4 of the game

  17. No excuse for the plays being called

  18. nidhighe I bet you never played a down of football in your life.

  19. You have to call the plays that your personel or lack thereof can handle.

  20. You guys will probably sit there in shock when Kerney goes out for another season ending injury later this year.

The same Seahawks who were hurt last year are already hurt this year only 2 games into the season (Spencer, Branch, Hill, Hasselbeck, Jones, Tatupu, Wahle)..

So can anyone guess the common denominator on the Seahawks in Gore’s monster rushing games against the Seahawks? I can’t even figure out why this guy is starting.

  21. So you just give up everything underneath, and you go away tossing to Housh and Carlson in the middle and don’t throw any screen passes?

  22. gdub48
You are delusional… Singletary, as the commentator said, has his players drinking the kool-aid, while ours seem to be drinking injurade. Our players got embarrassed today, even the first string ones.
As for all these ifs and buts flying around this blog… BS. San Fran made a lot of mistakes today too (block in the back that took away the touchdown to name one) and still found a way to win. That’s what good teams do.
The two big runs Gore had we had 8 and 9 guys in the box. That is inexcusable, even for backups. I predicted whoever won this game would win the division and I’ll stick to that. Draft quarterback and O-line with our two first round draft picks next year.
All said and done this was a worse loss than either of the gashings San Fran gave us in the ’06 season and I didn’t think it could get worse than those two losses. Shows what I know.

  23. And why are we always getting hurt anyways, maybe because we keep the people that are always getting hurt, like said previously. Obviously we got to keep Hass, but the others? It always seems like the Hawks never catch a break either. If the ball bouces a certain way, it’s never in the Hawks favor. F ck it, we just got to keep pushing.

  24. yeah this was the worst loss the Seahawks JV ever had. Koolaid my butt. Next week the niners are going to lose big. They are nuthin. To beat the MASH hawks by only 13 points is pitiful. The commentators were being commentators. Bilick is a joke, He should be coaching. The other guy? Who cares. Gore should have been running the ball a lot more than he was. The only thing I can figure is that Singletary didnt want to make us mad. You cant call screens when you have no offensive line to build a wall. You cant play close up defense when you got nobody to CYA if ya let em get behind you. You CANT STOP THE RUN WHEN YOUR MIDDLE OF THE d line and two of your linebackers a scrubs. You cant play all out when there is no one to come in and spell you. That kiddies is why the Seahawks lost today. Period.

  25. pabuwal-

    Babineux?

  26. For those who think the 49ers are not a good team or even the best team in the division, did you bother to check how they finished last year and began this year? All the Seahawks have to their credit is a few beatings of the Rams in that same timeframe.

  27. OlsonC – you got it! He was the starter in those 2 SF games in 2006 and has not started since. Gore hasn’t done much since then and as soon as Babs starts – BOOM! It happens again.

  28. If all you got is back ups out there and your players are out matched, isn’t that the time to get more aggessive and or creative on D to mix things up, what do you have to lose, especially when you have no offense and you are playing from behind. And on O, wouldn’t you want to stick with your bread and butter, Housh and Carlson, not throw to your fullback, which is confussing in itself since we got rid of Weaver, and run draws?

  29. Why would you punt the ball on 4th and 3 also? No way in heel were we doing to get the ball back two more times with 5 left.

  30. I think the Niners have a tough D for sure, but we have shut down Frank Gore in the past, and they are far from prolific on offense.

That said, here are my observations-Vallos was really struggling with the snaps and destroyed a significant drive. Unger was getting pushed around a bit and the line couldn’t get much push on the run. Burleson looked god awful. I think he might of dropped about 4 balls and definitely created the int.

We were outcoached. Why couldn’t we find ways to get the ball to Carlson, Housh? I have zero confidence in Seneca; he looked terrible. He had a full half to get some points on the board and nothin’. I think Forsett ran with a lot more heart than J.J. did today and warrants more touches.

Am I the only one that thinks our kick return game looks terrible?

So the injury list:Matt Hasselbeck, Walter Jones, Chris Spencer, Locklear, Branch, Lofa Tatupu, Leroy Hill, Marcus Trufant, Josh Wilson, Brandon Mebane.

I think Milloy needs a look at Babineux’s spot. Derrick Brooks?

  31. nidhighe says:

gdub48, does one need to have played football to tell that one of the teams out there today looked tougher and more physical than the other?

  32. nidhighe says:

Olsonc, did we watch the same game? Wallace was far from terrible.

  33. Niners record by the end of the season? 7-9 at best.

  34. gdub48
once again I want some of what you’re smoking… niners might finish that bad but that means we will probably be 7-9 at best as well… early in the season but that game today was just awful, scrubs or no scrubs.
