I’m at the field and mostly Oakland players are warming up on the field right now. Here are a few things to look for in tonight’s game.

WRs under the spotlight – Ben Obomanu, Courtney Taylor, Jordan Kent and Mike Hass should get ample playing time tonight as they compete for the fifth and perhaps sixth receiver spot. If one of those receivers can make a big play, or string together a couple solid plays on offense and special teams, it should improve their chances on making the final roster.

Teel Time – We should see a good bit of third string quarterback Mike Teel, with Matt Hasselbeck likely playing just a series or two, and Seneca Wallace not practicing this week because of a groin strain. Teel needs a good performance so Seattle’s coaching staff can trust that he can competently manage the offense so the team can use Wallace as part of the offensive package on a weekly basis.

Reed watch – Defensive end Nick Reed might already be on the roster, but he could certainly improve those chances with another strong performance tonight. However, Baraka Aktins also still is in the conversation. He has the prototypical size for a defensive end, and could make a good case for being the fifth DE by playing well tonight. And don’t forget about Michael Bennett. The coaching staff likes his versatility, and he also has a chance to make the final roster.

Safeties on notice – With the Seahawks recently adding S Nate Ness to the 75-man roster, safeties Jamar Adams and Courtney Greene are on notice. Both were thought to have a future with the team, but that could change with the arrival of Ness.

Who’s the third TE? It would appear to be Joe Newton, who the team has been grooming on the practice squad the past, two seasons. But rookie Cameron Morrah has playmaking ability and a bright future, making the choice for the third TE spot more difficult.

Hobbs needs big day – He’s struggled covering the deep ball during the preseason, but a good day by cornerback Kevin Hobbs could help his chances of sticking with Seattle. With uncertainty on what will happen with Marcus Trufant, the team could use another quality corner. And veteran Travis Fisher has been out with a hamstring injury and unable to play the last two games.
