Well, it wasn’t pretty but the Seahawks went into halftime tied at 7-all.

* Matt Hasselbeck has looked solid, besides the first throw of the game, a interception by Kansas City’s Brandon Flowers that was tipped at the line of scrimmage by Tyson Jackson. Flowers took it 28 yards for the score. Hasselbeck is 14-of-19 for 151 yards, a touchdown and a pick.

* We might be getting our answer on the kicking competition, with Olindo Mare missing from 51 and 27 yards. Kansas City’s kicker Ryan Succop also missed from 28 and 53 yards. There’s not much wind here, so I’ll be interested to hear Mare’s comments on the missed kicks.

*Julius Jones has ran the ball well. He’s got 50 yards on 13 carries. The run game looks much better this game, with Jones able to stretch the perimeter of the defenes.

*Defensively, Seattle has looked awful against the run, giving up 90 yards on the ground in the first half. Again, more missed tackles and bad pursuit angles by the defense.

*Receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh continues to show up. He has five receptions for 60 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown.

*Overall, the Seahawks have not looked as crisp as head coach Jim Mora would have liked. But they are tied to Kansas City on the road going into halftime, and played much better in the second quarter.

Mare simply cannot miss short field goals and expect to win the job.

Tale of two teams from the 1st quarter to the 2nd. Much better pressure from the d line and coverage by the secondary. The o line seems to be much better run blocking than pas pro. Housh is a flat out stud. Great hands, good routs and tough.

Agreed that run defense is piss poor. I simply don’t understand the broken tackles. Can’t wait to read all the “Jones sucks” comments this week. Perhaps they’ll now begin to taper off.

can anyone post some play by plays on this article a little faster than fox sports does? I cannot watch the game and am dying with the slow updates…I really appreciate it.

oh…and I watched SB 40 on nfl network today (condensed to 44 minutes) and vomited in my mouth about 15 times. We absolutely owned them all day long. Everybody knew it. Save a couple of “gadget” plays, one long run, and jerramy stevens’ hands of stone we win that game running away…even with the BS (SB backwards) calls.

  3. Ryan-
NFL.com has decent play by plays right now. Fox sports changed their format and it sucks.
