The Seahwks defense has yet to keep the the Broncos off he scoreboard, as Matt Prater boomed a 53-yard field goal for a 10-7 Denver lead.

I’m a little surprised at how poor the defense is tackling. They look a step slow tonight.

And Deon Butler continues to struggle returning kicks, although he’s not getting much help from his blockers.

  1. I doubt we’ll hear anyone talk about how Butler should go on the practice squad this week. His speed certainly doesn’t or hasn’t translated into returning kicks though. I really liked the way Moore hit the holes hard last week. Hopefully, he’ll do it again like that later tonight.

  2. Locklear just got beat at Matt gets his from the blind side. If he can’t hold up we are in trouble

  3. Leroy hill is missing tackles left and right

  4. welcome back GM Holmgren.

  5. I noticed that on Locklear too. We’ve been spoiled for so long and have Mr. Automatic that it’s weird to see blind side pressure. Lets hope the big man can come back strong.

The D is less than impressive, but like Moon has said a few times, it could be fatigue considering how hard they have been worked the last month. Only 1 day off? Anyone would be tired. No excuse, but I think this is part of Mora’s overall plan and I’m okay with where we seem to be at this point defensively.

  6. Our offense and defense look bad against Bronco’s. And we thought the Bronco’s pick will be top 8?

Spencer out after missing a big block to send Forsett to the endzone on the big gain. Vallos in.

Great 2 minute drive so far. Hass just barely overthrew Housh for a TD.

  9. Locklear has certainly been less than impressive.

To put into perspective how bad 3 sacks are in a half — that equals 6 sacks for a game — which equals allowing 96 sacks during a 16 game season.

Pretty impressive last drive (minus the hits on Matt) though. Fun to watch. TJ is definitely going to be a difference maker!

    HOUSH! HOUSH!

i must say bobbyK has great math skills!

offense looks like it will be a real threat this year as long as Matt is on his feet.

defense scared me but warren moon had a good stat. camp has been in for 23 days the hawks have had on day off, the day after the chargers game when they go into to Seattle at 4 am. worried still but just as long as it doesn’t look like this in week 1

  12. Here’s my thoughts on the 1st half:

    1. TJ was a great pickup

    2. Butler looked much better this week on the 2 plays, but I hope we’re done with the kick returning experiment

    3. We’ve got a HUGE problem at left tackle

    4. I still don’t like the zone blocking package

    5. Forsett should be the starter at rb, but even with him the combo of Locklear & the zone blocking really has me concerned about our lack of a running game

    6. I know this is unheard of in the NFL BUT, Matt’s game is based on timing. Most of of the offensive starters are returning players from last year. Wouldn’t it have made more sense for Knapp to learn Holmgren’s offense then for the entire team to learn Knapp’s?

    7. Deon Branch has become The Invisible Man. He may be getting close to dropping tot he #4 wr. The 1st round pick (I believe) we gave up for him may end up being one of the worst trades in hawk history.

    MOO:

why would an offensive cord. adapt a whole new offensive in one off season?

he was brought in for his style and to be greg knapp and not mike holmgren.

and i think we all need to stop making such harsh judgments when our observations are coming from a preseason game
