I’m still working on tonight’s practice report but wanted to post this considering all of the speculation nationally that Michael Vick might land in Seattle.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen just reported on tonight’s telecast of the Arizona Cardinals — Pitsburgh Steelers game that Vick has signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. I’ll provide more details as they emerge, along with a detailed report from tonight’s practice.

  1. so he’s not playing QB then . . .

I wonder if he’ll contribute much this year. I’m curious to watch him.

  2. mindnbrad says:

Why couldn’t he have signed with Baltimore, Cincy or Pittsburgh? Can you see the headlines?… “Vick Attacks Dog Pound.” Dang. (…I couldn’t resist.)

  3. Dukeshire says:

Westbrook, McCoy, Maclin, D. Jackson now Vick. Some talented playmakers for McNabb.

  4. nightwulf says:

Until now, I respected the Eagles…

  5. jerrycurl says:

Right there with you nightwulf. I live in South Jersey and this is going to be non-stop all season. I was watching the Eagles game against the Pats when I found out, I got a sinking feeling. As an owner of a pitbull, and just as a human being, I’m just sick. I really don’t understand why this guy is still in this league. Besides all the ethical issues as to what he was involved with, he lied to Commissioner and to the Falcons for 2 months saying he had no involvement prior to being indicted.

Brutally murdering animals and lying about it = reinstatement.

Does anyone else think this is all about the money they’ll make off the #7 VICK Eagles jersey. Goodell is a weasel, and now I have to put the Eagles organization on the list right after him.

  6. CDHawkFan says:

I am a dog owner who thinks Vick has paid enough. Yes it was a terrible thing, very stupid and I would still like to punch him in the face. But he served his time and should be able to work in the NFL.

As far as the Eagles, I am not sure the talent = the off the field drama that will follow. I am sure most Philly fans will welcome him though, win at any cost.

  7. Sir … does this mean that Ann-Margret’s not coming?

  8. Vick has paid his debt. I would’ve signed him in a heartbeat.

How is it that some people want Vick out of the league for what he did but don’t have the same problem with others who have been convicted of crimes? DUI kills….wanna punch them in the face? Think Burress should be able to play after he serves his time? He had a gun go off in public.
Those are crimes endangering people not dogs.

  9. OCHawkFan says:

Cmon, the guy spent two years in prison and lost out on $100m. He’s paid his debt. For goodness sakes, you go over to Korea and they eat these things for dinner! I dont see PETA over there making a big fuss about that. Its all about publicity!

  10. OCHawkfan, what is the OC for? Orange County? if so i live in hermosa beach.

  11. OCHawkFan says:

Yep. I love Hermosa. Where do you watch the Hawks games at up there?

  12. dont know of any Hawk bars, I have Sunday Ticket so I can see every game.
    Are there places down there?
