Subject- Trufant's back/hamstring.

Okay, I'm not an elite athlete like Trufant but- I did have back spasms/lower lumbar injury a few years ago. I saw physical therapist to learn how to prevent it. Why did it get hurt? Because my hammies were too tight. So one lead to the other. Sounds like Trufant's problem too. (he had hamstring trouble this summer, prior to injuring his back). I've got to assume that they are directly related and that Trufant is receiving excellent medical attention and more thorough PT care than I got. Tight/short hammies do not fix themselves quickly. Marcus' back may feel better, but you cannot be careful enough before putting him back onto the field. HOpefully the rehab is going well with lots of stretching and healing.

Scary thing- if he's tight now, wait until the weather gets colder.

On a personal note, my back does tighten up once in a while, but nothing as bad as it once did. I can thank focused stretching of the legs for this. Fingers crossed that Tru's legs/back work it out before the second preseason game.

AUGUST 9, 2009 AT 9:48 AM
Report from Clare that got buried in the Curry hype and understandably so. Regarding injuries.

Green light: Mora states that Spencer should be back soon and that we “dodged a bullet”. Spencers injury isn’t as concerning to me as others. As physically gifted as the man is, his mental development of NFL line calls seemed to progress slower than anticipated. Steve Vallos was a solid performing center at the end of last season when our OLine gelled and showed consistancy. He was having a great camp this year and this definitely takes a toll on our depth.

Yellow light: Mora states Walter Jones has not practiced because they are just being “Very very careful” in regards to his “position and stature”. mora said he is not concerned. I’m not concerned with Big Walt missing reps. The man is a true technician, argueably he best ever at his position. Limiting his injuries at the cost of reps will work for me. Let’s just keep him physically capable of doing what he does best.

Red light: Of Marcus Trufant. It is not time to bit he panic button, but my hand is hovering. Mora states, “I can’t tell you how long it’s going to be. With the back you just don’t know”. Well Mora, you seem to have an idea with walt. Thinking about an extended period of time without trufant will cause any Seahawk fan to crumble with an anyeurism. There have been too many red flags. The immediate signing of T.Fisher, the change of story about the cause of the injury, the uncertainty. Josh Wilson is a capable corner but we still don’t have that eliteness to cover the left side of the field. Hovering….. Just hovering

I really have no idea anymore where they are with regard to the cap.

As for Smith: I don't see any way they bring him in. The D line seem pretty well set to me. Beyond that however, he's a disruption everywhere he's been. Hell, even the Saints cut him loose after eating lunch in the press box before a game. And no matter what kind of guy Brady Quinn is, you can't go around knocking your QBs out in the weight room. Not exactly Ruskell material. The 'Hawks have a unit that's just now building cohesion and defining their roles, I'd be very surprised if they disrupted that at this point (injuries not withstanding). On top of all that, he can't stay healthy enough to play a full season himself. Seattle passes, with extreme prejudice, IMO.

At this point I'm thinking we need o line security so that QB security doesn't become a problem!

Here's hoping Walt makes it through the season at least at 75% of normal & that Unger is a stud from day 1. If not.........................

Darn it I just got a McMullin jersey...

Ok but seriously does anyone have a work up of remaining cap space... Like I said previously we may be needing a vet qb as security. Then again there are a lot out there and may be plentiful throughout the season. I was also thinking of an additional big boy up the middle i.e. Shaun Smith released yesterday by clevland. Sure he punched Quinn but.....Quinn has such a punchable face.
